Got a 08 with 162k thats been babied his whole life with service records only downfall are body dings and paint but i was looking to boosting it and this video has motivated me even more, trying to decide if i want a merc racing, or kraftwerks. Super dope car man!
Merc racing is overpriced, i was considering it, but am going KW. For the price of merc racing, you could just do an insane turbo build and possibly even build your motor while you’re at it lol
Yea that’s kind of their thing too which is sad but it is what it is. Skunk2 actually embraces the fact that they’re known for being a-holes, and they just tell everyone to suck it😂 but hey we still buying their products lol, I’m going KW S/C soon before the year ends
Watching the video one correction a centrifugal supercharger is a genuine supercharger, you referring to a roots or twin screw as a real supercharger is faulty. All are belt driven. Only root and twinscrew build up back pressure giving you that instant torque. Which an centrifugal supercharger doesn't it spools up like a turbo creating pressure. Centrifugals are smaller in size and can fit in nearly everything roots and twin screw create more heat bonnet needs to get air vents cut into them
I just wanna do nice things that don’t involve too much crazy work, don’t mind not going past 400, soon I will on my lx,09, don’t want an si since I’m attached to it lol
Hey, I'm also currently putting on the kraftwerks too. I was wondering if you had a problem with the intake manifold touching the alternator positive cable that is covered over a rubber boot. Did u have to shave off a little bit of the intake manifold for clearance between the alternator positive cable
Great vid. Could you do a video with slightly heavy partial throttle driving? I love what i call the airplane sounds at part throttle but every video is full throttle. Maybe a video just kind of daily spirited driving. Hopefully that makes sense. Thanks
@@rabbiteightt haha yep right after that comment i went and watched all your vids lol. def a little of it in there. can you purposefully make it make the noise im talking about like on a daily drive by regulating boost and throttle? would love to hear that.
thinking about boosting my 8th gen and i got a stage 3 clutch installed, do you think thats overkill? im not planning to push more than 350whp since i daily drive it.
@@rabbiteighttI live in UK and have a tts supercharged fn2 type r running 340hp ( crank hp ) and have had oem clutch for 6 years without issue. It gets driven hard and even the occasional track time and it's never slipped.
Forget what they are rated for, it's engine and mods dependant. I run a rotrex tts kit on my fn2 type r which is rated to 400hp but I'm only running 340hp at 10 psi
Couldnt agree with you more, Skunk has the shittiest customer service ever. I wanted to replace my c30-94 with a c38 and they never wrote back to me after emailing them 3 times. Called them also willing to pay long distance since im in Canada and they never called back.
How reliable is to supercharged a 8 gen si, I heard the 8 gens it's better to keep them NA(fbo and tune if want make more power)and that 9 gens si if you want to boost, I have driven a 2015 si and I had a 07 si and i really like the way the 8 gen feels drives and sound even stock. My goal it's nothing crazy. just wanna make 330 to 380 whp. 8 gen or 9 gen si .?? Or the better question . It's the k24 more reliable than the k20 when boosted.??
I personally have driven with my supercharger about 15,000 miles with 0 issues. Granted I keep up on maintenance and make sure to check the oil levels regularly. So I would say it's a super reliable way to make good power.
How many miles on stock clutch? I have about 1000 miles on my KW kit, I bought a stage 2 action clutch and have not installed. Waiting to see how much I can get on stock with ~15k on it
The cost to supercharger or turbocharge the civic is pretty similar. Both come out to around $6000. It's just that the supercharger is much easier to install and requires less modifications to the car.
Yeah so if your buying brand new it's ~$5000US and that if everything goes smooth and you don't need any extra gaskets or anything. I payed around $3000US for all of my kit because it was used and missing a couple parts
Thanks for the video brotha man. Starting my 09 LX journey wish me luck 🫡

I want to supercharge my 9th gen so soo bad!! It’s been stock since I’ve owned it besides coilovers.
DO IT!!!!
What kit or supercharger do you plan on going with?
@@marcoa.sanchez9297 idk yet I’m still deciding
Do it!! You won’t regret it I put a kraftwerk supercharger almost a year ago in my 9th gen and I love it!

I did not and I haven't heard of anyone else with that issue.
can you link the supercharger pls bro
Is that the torque app on the radio?

Yeah! I'll definitely try to incorporate that into my next video! Thanks for the idea!
Also you should check out my canyon carving video which I would say is similar to what you're talking about!

Nice conversion what’s your mileage
Got about 12000 miles on the supercharger!
How's the process with changing the supercharger oil? Is it tedious or pretty straightforward?
Even though the kit said it's rated for 360 to 380 it doesn't make it your have to do other things to get those numbers
Yeah it's rated for 380 with headers and full exhaust. Which I do not have lol
how do you only make 300? the kit is rated for 360-380. do you have a bigger pulley?
It's rated for 360-380 with header and 3" exhaust. I have neither of those. But once I get those I will be making around that at sea level.

EXCUSE ME!!! Pretty please tell me HOW you did that center console setup!!! thanks :)
If youre talking about the radio, its an Idoing stereo and just downloaded the hondata app onto it to get my data on it
how did you connect the flashpro to the head unit
Just downloaded the app from the google play store then it connects via Bluetooth
do you have to dyno or can you just flashpro tune and go?
They have a etune on Kraftwerks but I would recommend at least an e tune from an actual tuner.
how much did you get the kit for?
I was just looking at it on ProCivic it runs about 5K with Hondata tuning
Stock transmission or refreshed?
Completely stock!
