Dr. Charles!!! Awesome guy got the opportunity to meet this guy and spend a day at skunk 2. Great staff and very knowledgable
Damn this is awesome, be great if more company's offered ride along to see how good their product was. That intercooler is dope as well.
nice to see some familiar faces from way back when i had an si and was in the scene. Also I have to admit skunk2/kraftwerks has to be the best customer service and dedication to improve both the scene and modification industry. thumbs up.
Everyone saying the Camaro/Stang are better platforms keep forgetting they are American cars, more expensive, depreciate much faster, big gas guzzling V8 and RWD which is not as versatile for people that live in colder areas.
You can buy an almost brand new 9th gen Civic Si, lower it, supercharge it, put a sports clutch in it, strut bars, lighter rims, stickier tires, exhaust/headers etc..
Get a FWD, 30 mpg, 350 whp, mid 12-13s car for under $27,000.
5.0L coyotes are 13s cars, unless you get the boss 302, gt500 or a saleen lool.
Hell for $5k, this supercharger turns this car into so much fun.
Ofc it's a civic and there are much better cars out there but it's a great price for the amount of fun people get out of it, not everyone can afford a GTR or an M3
Preach bro. Thats it right there.
Dasit Mane I picked up a '13 GT, took it to the strip and it ran 12.8, Only had Gt500 cat back, and an air intake, all together total cost was about $22000 cnd
Preach Brotha!!!
+Dasit Mane LOL @ 5.0L coyotes are 13s cars. They are mid 12 sec cars with real drivers, and low 12 sec with a simple exhaust and drs.
Agreed, I drive a $3,000 civic that will beat most factory cars. 300+whp in a light car is sick.
The smile on their faces got me convinced to put this sc on my Si. Thanks guys!
Aaron Valerio so did you do it? How much did it cost? Do you like it?
Active EJ Sorry man, I haven't yet. My Si is pretty old I am actually the 3rd owner of it and right now it is being restored body and mechanical wise. Next in line will be engine and tranny rebuild then the SC. If you get there first don't forget to message me how it's like on yours. Thanks.
@Shuffle3956 Sorry for the very late response. I wanted to rebuild the engine because it is burning oil and the 1st owner, I was told, was racing it hard and drove it all the way from Ontario to British Columbia where the second owner bought it then this BC owner moved here in Alberta where I became the 3rd owner so that kind of gives a picture of how badly the inside of the engine looks like. Update on the goal of SC it is now on the table. And yes it took me this long before I can put one on mine becuase I wanted to repay the cost of its restoration first before committing funds to the blower install. I know most of you hardworking enthusiasts understands the financial dilema of it. 😉
@@aaronvalerio19 been there. Is it fitted now?
@@JA-wy1zv I just bought a 2011 si with one and everything else with 50,000 miles
this kit cost more than i paid for my 8th gen si lol
SofaKingLeet CT-E Supercharger is cheaper and lasts forever
then it’s probably a really clapped out Si lmao
@@FG2Zim to be honest it was in pretty decent shape just needed to get caught up on some routine maintenance. 07 fa5 with 110k miles for $3k.
@@LeeVai666 bruh theyre literally going for double the price with that mileage now😂🤣 crazy. but 4.5-5k for 150-200hp increase. and still cheaper than a 20k car lol
@@kuya_mike7813 the used car market is crazy right now. inflation is through the roof!! ive seen base model R18's with 160k at dealers for $7k!!
This is the best sounding civic I’ve ever heard...
Yeah that cold air exhaust should help!
FINALLY a good video that shows pulls. Siggggh, I need one of these for my EG!
The vehicle features the Skunk2 Alpha Series Race Header along with the 76mm Megapower RR Exhaust System.
Wow that is awesome. I was saving for the CT kit but I'm definitely saving for this now.
Can't wait to get mine installed next week!
I have this kit as well. I run the skunk2 alpha header with 3in thermal exhaust no cat and it sounds great. Not quite as loud as the skunk2 exhaust but still deep without the fart can/raspy sound found in most catless set ups
Yes it does. The test vehicle has stock internals and valvetrain. The only other modifications besides the supercharger kit and flashpro was a header, and an exhaust system.
My 2013 needs a kit like this. :-)
That's a sharp design nice and simple
Amazing product I will defiantly be getting my hands on this it sounded lip it handle really well what clutch is that is running looked really smooth like stock... I wish I went to that ride along.
Finally LOL I will always remember that day :D
its funny to see the go power stickers :) also, can-not believe adrian was allowed to drive it lol!!!!
This kit is gonna be on my k20 banger 6 speed slanger soon!
The Type S and Civic Si have a few differences in how they are configured under the hood. We have not tried fitting this kit directly onto an RSX Type S. Although the supercharger might be able to be bolted to the engine, hood clearance would be an issue.
Sounds great
The supercharger deepens the tone.
I have kraftwerks sc for my s2000. Now I want it for my si as well!
The car had the Alpha Series Race Header paired with the Megapower RR 76mm Exhaust System.
Kraftwerks is the way ..surprised i never see them ..il be changing that in my city
damn now thats a way to inspire people to buy a product. too bad more companies dont do something like this
This is our standard kit for the 06-11 Civic SI.
that shit sounds beast! cant wait until i get back stateside.. probably gonna scoop one of these kits up
Can't wait to order 1 for my 9th Gen Si hopefully in couple weeks ! Can you guys make a video with this kit in a 9th Gen Si ?
Gotta love that delay of Drive by wire... nice kit tho. Sounds sick!!
It really was a pretty fun little gathering, good excuse for us to have pizza! ;)
KraftWerksUSA hey I'm.wondering what size of supercharger is this exact running ? Thanks just bought a 07 si coupe and want to this kit on it
Is that Dr. Charles? I know you when you use to work back in the day at Pocket Rocket racing.
We are actually going to be working on an R18 kit in the near future!
wait this guy from kraftwerks was on the discovery channel for that street racing documentary between the guy who drives the talon and the gal who drives the civic. he's hella chill haha
Awesome
@KraftWerksUSA I was just wondering if your supercharger affects the life of a cars engine in any way?
sick!
What exhaust is this? sounds so good.
Why you dont make any supercharger for 03-07 accord v6
Will you be making a supercharger for the 2013 Si? With the 2013 Si 2.4Liter engine creating more torque, an added supercharger would make a great build! Please keep me posted!
It really isn't very noisy at all. Some chargers make a bit more noise than others. Also, being that the system is making boost at idle the blow-off valve ends up being a bit open to relieve some pressure, it makes a small amount of noise also. When you are driving it really isn't a big deal.
Wow a Honda with low end torque. I like.
It' s decided, when I go forced induction this will be the kit I buy. I'm hoping by the time I graduate next summer, I'll have enough to buy it. What's the final boost numbers on the kit though? and is there a smaller pulley to raise it?
3:16 "even at idle its boosting" the revs do seem to stay high between shifts, the boost never completely drops off so most likely there is little or no manifold vacuum to slow the revs of the engine. Its almost like its got an anti-lag system.....almost... i'm sure once they fine tune the TB idle position and sitting BOV dump amount this thing will run and shift like a charm.
Thanks :]
So is yours. .
Last guy's shifts hurt me.
Under normal driving conditions the car maintained close to factory MPGs. Although as soon as you continually pin the throttle all of that goes out the window.
But the big question with this kit being "bolt-on" is, does it work with stock internals/valve train?
I've now had this on my car for about 3 years... multiple tensioner failures. the bearing destroys it self,
We can't say that a 2012 Civic Si kit "ISN'T" going to be available from KraftWerks. ;)
8,350RPM
@Kregz Syb labor should be about $1500- $500 for the Tune about $1,000 for the labor. Could be a little more.
did the guys at kraftwerks figure out what was up with all the issues regarding belt tensioner i really want this kit but i cannot find one issue that people have had with cte. it just sucks cause cte doesnt deliver quite enough power out of the box.
Very interested in this kit.. Do you need to tune the car after installing this kit?
Why the hell does it sound like a chorus of robotic crickets under the hood any time they're stopped and talking?
you guys should a B-series ride along!
why don't you guys have a kit for Acura RSX Type S?? is there one coming??
The revs don't seem to be dropping much between shifts. Seems like the throttle body is not fully closing or there's some issue with the tune / DBW that is causing the manifold to not be under full vacuum as soon as he lifts. It is also causing him to shift very slow because it takes longer for the synchros to work when the revs don't drop. scary.
As this installation cost, time delay and if you have to make modifications to the engine thanks
where did you get that compass racing shirt?
what will it do in the quarter with cold air intake and exhaust ?
what exhaust and header setup is on this kraftwerks car? I want...
what header/exhaust was the "ride along car" running on the video?
I have a type s will this kit be able to fit and if possible while retaining the ac
Whats the mpg look like after the supercharger is installed?
that guy was on a tv show i saw where they built a honda and another place built a talon for a drag race
I didn't realize I was in the wrong place. I thought paying my internet provider gave me the discretion to do what I want with my time, Manny.
How is the reliability of this kit? Also do you have a rough estimate of the cost for install?
Are y'all making a kit for the 2012 Civic SI
the car sounds awesome. but im more impressed with the guys beard, lol
nice!
this kit makes 380 whp and 250ft lbs with I/H/E. twin screws put down about 300whp and 200ft lbs...not to mention this kit is easy to maintain compaired to other s/c kits
From the vid it sounds a bit noisey, does it actually sound that way? Other than that it looks exciting.
We offer a K-Race kit, and we will be releasing a B-Race kit. We are also thinking about a D-Series option down the road.
@kraftwerksusa Let me first of say, i love this kit, i really do. i have been looking for a "procharger" (term loosely used) Style as opposed to a twin screw set up I.E CT, JR supercharger kits, for the near future. my main issue, i cant justify spending 5k+ on a simple kit. also seeing how i'm most likely going to have to upgrade my motor mounts as well as an aftermarket clutch, for i don't think it will hold the additional for an extensive period of time.
Will this kit work on the euro Honda Civic Sedan? Its an 07' one, its not an Si and it 1.8L. Planning to re-bore the block, larger pistons, upgrade the headers and exhaust. Is a fuel pump upgrade is required to operate this kit?
Many Thanks,
Pierre From Europe
I like how hondas are relatively cheap to tune and turbo
What are people running for clutches with this sort of setup?
are you able to put this same set up in a rsx and keep the ac?
can you put this on an R18, or just on an Si engine? Thx
The songs is very good malay song, "nanti tiba dimana"
i got the skunk2 CAI would i be able to use it on this kit?
Will this bolt on to a Mazda in a since different kit..
2009 TSX? Is there a kit available? I just spent about 30 minutes on the web site but it says "All K-Series." Have any second generation TSXs been done? Do you need a Hondata for this? What type of clutch is recommended? Stage 2?
Thanks.
So there are performance cars that make 225whp? Please show me a video where they run 11s. I only see videos with low 13s/ high 12s ,that of which a stock Camaro will run. I was more or less referring to the Camaro as a better platform to start with.
How much will it cost me to get a complete set up?
5:44 Authentic enthusiastic gear shifting at its finest
So he likes the D
LlLnig fuks u talkin bout...no homo over here boi
mrpunka1589 nice lips
Is 70k miles too high to S/C a car reliably? Assuming its well maintained.
hello what is the tensioner part number for my k20z3!
What exhaust/header ? Skunk2?
I like to watch Rsx's videos
What's the max HP for the supercharger?
Best sounding 8 gen si shit raw
Possible for an auto r18? Pleb question.
btw, what's the redline?
I meant, it's closer to 400whp if their dyno really reads 10% lower than others
not what i thought dr charles would sound like lol
Boost? Numbers? You had it on the Dyno, and didn't feel the need to show the results?
Miles per gallon are around 19 to 20 in the city, 24 mixed, and about 29 to 30 Highway. The power is great, but Im still on the stock header and a high flow catalytic converter since the civics k20 tends to sound farty with aftermarket headers and a catless setup. Even though its great, dont kid yourself into thinking youre going to beat STIs, Evos and Mustang GTs off the line (max torque is about 230lbft on this kit). Youll need to start tuning on e85 if you want that level of power. Compared to my old stage 2 CT kit, this is night and day. And the power delivery is much better...very linear as described.
The q300 exhaust will change your mind about that!
