Im so very greatful that i came across you channel and videos. After watching through them i did see how badly structured my CV and letter was and how much my interview skills lacked. Ive been searching for a new job now for about 6 months applaying to everything that was interesting to me and where i could see myself working. Ive had succes in having many first interviews and each time i learned more how to apply what ive learned here, ive even had a opportunity where i was first choice but timing of when i could start forced the company to go with their second option. Ive been on a couple of second interviews and fallen short perhaps on chemistry. But all the time ive been more confident and learned how to use the material. 2 days ago i was offered and accepted a new job that is a perfect fit. And the knowledge from you is instrumental in me getting it, im really greatful and to everyone reading this comment i cantvstress enough how good this videos are and i hope they help more like me get to a better job. Thanks for the extraordinarie work in helping out people.
Interesting. Having recently having has a 1st interview with a recruiter, 2nd interview with the company, 3rd interview with the company, and a 4th interview because they couldn't split myself and one other. Whilst I didn't get the role, the feedback was good and they said the other candidate only was a 1/2 point more innovative in their project example..... As I not had any interviews for 14 years, I took the feedback as a positive and it was good practice. Bring on the next position!!!
This is why so many people are becoming entrepreneurs. You literally have to do circus acts just to get a job and these employers continue to say that no one wants to work. Look at what they put you through just to get into the door. You can’t help who will like you. An attractive woman who’s being interviewed by a plain Jane is not going to get hired simply because she’s attractive. It happens all the time. It doesn’t matter how much you perform it’s based off of another person judging you.
I 2nd that,,, still as an entrepreneur you still need to communicate well and be able to sell yourself for a project or whatever paying gig you are searching for 🤷🏽♀️
If it’s down to 2 women, equally qualified, 1 pretty and 1 plain, the pretty one will get it. Especially if the interviewer is a man. Looks matter just as much so it’s better to be pretty
@@lovemarinelife If I am interviewed by a woman...I know I have NO chance. If it is a guy, 98% of the time I get the job. Women are BRUTAL to other women in the workplace. The tips and answers are truly robust. I watched this video 2 days before my final round interview for practicing. I received the offer this morning and landed the position in my top 5 companies that I would love to work for. The hiring manager actually loved my answers and questions... Thank you @TheCompaniesExpert !!! You're the best
The thank you note is a great tip! My second interviews have always been more like a business meeting "get to know you over a coffee in a cafe" more conversational in nature and usually with your future manager and a stakeholder in the team who wasn't in the first interview. However, you made a valid point, the second interview is about deciding who not to hire so don't be too casual. I guess that some second interviews may be more of a double-down on skills, but my experience is that is all exhaustively covered in the first interview.
Thank you so much, because of your great videos and tips now I'm going to my second interview, honestly I was going to let my guards down, thank you for warning us 🙏
Hi Companies Expert... this channel and YOU got me through my first interview. Now its my second and so I'm here again for help. Fingers crossed. Regards from the UK.
Hello Bill, thank you so much for all the good work. This channel has been very helpful. I have a few questions for you; what’s the best way to answer these second interview questions: 1. How do you handle disagreements with your superiors? 2. Tell me about a time where you had a conflict with a coworker. 3. How do you like to be managed? 4. What would you do if we hired you and three weeks into your first month, you realized this job was not a perfect fit for you? Also, is it okay if you’ve never had experiences mentioned in the behavioral questions (like, tell me about a time you had a disagreement with your boss) to say so, or must you create imaginary scenarios in that case to satisfy the interviewer? Thank you so much. Best regards, Onoriode.
Hello there! On saturday i have a job interview for a job starting at $80k a year, my whole life ive worked at minimum wage jobs, and thus could really change my life. Im writing down every single tip you say to make sure i get this job 😅
Thank you, Companies Expert, for the helpful content of your videos! I had my second interview today and it went well as you helped me be prepared. Keep up the good work, you really are making a difference by your videos!
Love this ... and the nice touches like "ok take a breath" because we need this to digest and I'm sure it's good for you too. It relaxes my mind and things like that make me smile 😃
You did a fantastic job. Perfect time, perfect attitude , and perfect content. I will all programming was as well versed as yours. My thanks and applaud. Have a great day.
I have a 2nd interview later. The first time I had a second interview I didn't know what to expect-like you said, people often put down their guard and I completely flunked it back then 😅 I'm also still a student and I'm still building my interview skills, so thank you for this video. I hope I could at least be more composed this time around.
I love your videos. Very honest and informative. Very well organized and the way you deliver your information is extremely satisfying to watch. Thank you for sharing!
I had a pretty bizarre second interview yesterday, they had different people but asked the SAME questions!! It felt uncomfortable like I was just repeating myself
Sir please make some videos by giving example for accounts and finance position . Most of the videos I see , they actually give expample using scenario based on sales and marketing and service industry related things .
Hi Bill, your channels have been a great help. I had both my first & second interviews, which I felt went great. Then I was sent an online assessment test to take, which I did. A week has pass and crickets.. How should I proceed?
Good day Bill. I am very greatful for all the informative videos... This specific video helped me a lot in being prepared for the second interview. I just had my second interiew this morning, and as I was saying good bye and thanking them for the oppertunity one of the four interviewers walked out behind me telling me that I did very well in the interview and that the process will speed up very rapidly from this point on. So my question to you will be what can I expect now? I don't want to get my hopes all up, although I want to stay positive. My one question at the end was, "what will be the next step in your recruitment process from this point on?"
funny this video came out a day after i had a second interview...in my case...my first interview was with the position supervisor and then the second was with the gent who was retiring and the manager...i did pretty close to what you outlined in this video...i have the exact experience they are seeking...but my age works against me...they did say they want an adult...as i took that...not some younger person that wouldnt take the position seriously for lack of a better term...i asked the HR person for their emails to send a thank you later that day after the interview...but just got word back saying she couldnt do that but could pass along my message...so i said ok
Hello MR. Bill, Can you tell me if there will be the same questions in the 2nd interview as in the 1st interview? Like introduce yourself/tell me about yourself. Why should we hire you? What are your strengths/weaknesses? TIA
Bill, I would like to know your view on this. This is not any sort of a pain for me, I’m just curious about your opinion. Last year I was having one of the interviews for a GM position. For the 2nd interview I was invited to the company’s headquarter. I’ve been provided a plane tickets, the hotel reservation and the date of an interview was fixed. But, I received the positive PCR test right before the flight. So, I informed the company and I did not come. Consequently the 2nd interview was organised later and again via Zoom… And I didn’t get a job. Do you think that the fact I was not been able to travel for the 2nd F2F interview, could potentially force the decision for the other guy (who, I suppose, did managed to flight in)? Thanks for your thoughts on this.
Question: so what do you consider the second interview. In my case currently, I had an initial call with an HR recruiter where she just asked basic questions about my job history and if I have any experience in a few systems and projects. She also asked what my expected pay would be. She then scheduled an interview with the Director of Human Resources. Would this be considered the 2nd interview or was the recruiter the first interview? I had that interview a few days ago where there were a lot of behavioral questions being asked. I'm now scheduled for another interview with the CEO of the company. Would this be the 3rd interview then? I honestly didn't consider the recruiter as an actual interview. It was more of a 5 minutes "tell me about yourself" call. I may be looking at this all wrong. 😂
I’m interviewing for sales rep positions, currently in college. I find myself being too casual within interviews since that’s my general nature, how to balance professionalism while also having a more casual conversational approach? Or is this not suggested at all
I do the exact same thing! I end up being too casual in interviews, like calling them by their first names too early or something. What I try to do is stay very professional throughout the interview, and then when you reach the end and they say "do you have any questions for me?", I start to be a little more casual and try to have more of a conversation with the interviewer, rather than a more formal back and forth like the first part of the interview. I find that when the interviewer asks "do you have any questions for me?" That they have done what they came there to do. What happens after they get through the parts that they HAVE to do is they start to feel a little more relaxed. They've done what they came there to do, and they feel like they can get to know you more as a person, without formal questions that they have to ask being in the way. I've never been a high level manager or anything, so take that advice with a grain of salt, but I feel like it helps me. I have definitely had interviews where the first half didn't go so well, but I completely saved it by asking good questions, having an energetic, productive conversation with the interviewer, and using that as a way to leave the interviewer with a more positive impression of me.
How would you apply this to a younger demographic? I am trying to level myself up getting bigger and better paying roles but you can only do so much when you have such an specific amount of experience
have "experience" elsewhere, as in volunteer work that you can show/prove how you can bring that to the table. Have a side hustle that shows the skills the position seeks. If you want to move up, find somewhere you can get that experience or exposure to have a way of presenting that you are versed in what they need. Just cuz it isn't a paying gig doesn't mean you aren't gaining valuable knowledgeable experience or skills. Or take courses, like linkedin stuff...
I agree, these people who are in the position of hiring other people are the worst. Most end up hiring people who last for a few months. They rather hire someone fake than someone real. Corporate environments are so dysfunctional.
I agreed. It's a complete waste of the candidates time. You waste all that excitement and time just to not get the job. You may have even turned down a good opportunity somewhere else
I had a deep dive into the detail on my first interview. My interviewers said the 2nd interview was going to be more informal to see more if I would be a good fit with the team. Should I expect it to go this way or should I plan for another deep dive? Maybe planning for both is the way forward?
@@Aliplus They didn't take it to 2nd interview and went with the last candidate they interviewed on the Friday... So nothing I could do really. I had another 2nd interview recently with one extra person and for that I jotted down my strengths and weakness and thought of examples to prove them.... Feedback from the interview was they thought I'd get bored with that position and offered me a didn't role that isn't available yet... It sucks to do well but get nothing for it...
Great videos btw. I have a question. Lets say that i already have a decent job but i found an job ad which looks interesting. Or that i dont have a job but i apply to 2 or more ads but i got an interview from job which is not my favourite of 2. So i am not in a rush and in both cases not desperate to take the job no matter what. Can i in this case be a little bit cocky at the interview or will it backfire. So instead of i will be one who will have hard time (and sweaty hands) maybe i can be the guy who will "pick" my employee with questions like what can you offer to me, what kind of salary you can offer etc? Is this a good approach in that kind of case or it can backfire anytime soon? Thanks

Totally disagree. Most companies require a second interview (usually on-site). It’s not indecisiveness…it’s due diligence.
Hi Bill. Is it ideal to send a thank you note for both the first and second interview?
It doesn't do any harm. A brief note is all that's required each time.

don't waste your time that ship SAILED unless you are being referred by a well liked employee.
