Tommy was so well spoken, and he seemed to have a great attitude and a sense of humility. With each interview he acknowledged that he had a lot of work to do and things to learn and/or improve on. His off time issues really derailed his career, which is a shame because if he could have remained focused he could have been one of the all time great heavyweights. Even with those issues he was one of the better heavyweights of the late 80's and through the mid 90's. His fights are always fun to watch.
well said. it seems many very good heavyweights that were just a little shy of being 'great" have passed before their time. boxing organizations should do more for its warriors instead of seemingly ignore the boxers that fall on hard times. a pension system or some lifeline would help.
Rip, Tommy! I'd give it all to go back and relive these memories with my pops. Both have left my life too early. We were huge Tommy Morrison fans. I miss you dad
its sad watching Tommy's old fights. Shame he passed prior to even hitting 50 years old and hard to see what he looked like in his last interviews. He does have a good reputation at least for his ring accomplishments but it would be better if he had at enjoyed a better fate.

Tommy had such charisma, I'm sorry about what happened to him. I guess when u are young, you don't really make smart decisions.
He dropped him like a toilet seat.
