    He was always well spoken, polite. Dude was intelligent no doubt. Really unfortunate what life throws at you sometimes. He definitely was an incredible boxer with one of the meanest left hooks I've ever seen. That's so heartbreaking being outcast not only in his career but in his public life as well & for something that was so misunderstood at the time. What a sad story for such a likable good hearted down to earth person. Really is sad. RIP brother , you were loved by many

    I miss ya brother. R.I.P Tommy Morrison. I remember the night my cousin and I went to a family pizzaria and sat in the back to watch Saturday night boxing. As we were sitting there waiting for it to start, they had just made an announcement that there was something that showed up in Tommy’s blood test. As a result, the fights were canceled. That was the night that one of my heroes asa teenager had been diagnosed with HIV. That was the first time in my life, I’d been devastated by bad news. I loved watching him fight. He had the best left hook on the planet. Tyson as well. Foreman and Razor Ruddock fights were his best wins. Thanks for the memories. I’ll never forget ya. Tommy “ the Duke” Morrison....... 👊

When I heard he was making a comeback in 07 and that his health was improving greatly I thought he cheated death and finally overcame his demons and was happy to hear that. RIP champ. I do believe Tommy had a false positive. It’s just so strange to me how there is not one person he passed the virus onto.
    The partying was an issue for a young kind person who did not have an easy time growing up. All of the sudden Tommy reaches the pinnacle of fame and where everyone wanted to be with him.
    Then in one quick sweep it’s all taken away. I believe depression along with drug abuse killed Tommy. We’re all human and if I met him, I would have told him that he matters to all of his true fans.

      @youtubemodsaresnowflakelef7692 2 года назад +3

      No, he didn't. The reason his later tests were negative, is because the medication is good enough to keep your viral count so low, that you test negative. You're still highly contageous though.
      And he probably did infect people, before testing positive (and maybe later on as well, when he started believing he wasn't positive)... It can take up to 6 months post infection to test positive.

      In 2006, a decade after his diagnosis, the Nevada Athletic Commission mysteriously lifted Morrison’s ban from boxing without any explanation.
      In July 2007, the new york times reported that Tommy took two HIV tests in 2007 and a third specifically for the Times. HIV experts reviewed the three tests and concluded that the 1996 result had been a false positive.
      “The mixed result in the Jan. 5 test makes it likely that the antibody result is a false positive,” according to Dr. Daniel R. Kuritzkes, a Harvard professor who directs AIDS research at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston and is chairman of the board of the H.I.V. Medicine Association. “It’s hard to know for sure what’s going on, but I suspect he was never H.I.V.-infected.”
      Following the test results in 2007, Morrison fought two more times in West Virginia and Mexico. I believe he was a drug addict though as you can see his health decline at a certan point in his life, primarily on meth and heroin. You can see him tweaking in an interview when he was promoting fight night champion

    Man, I miss tommy. I wanna say he was dealt a wrong hand, but that’s a bit hard to say when you consider the genetic lottery he hit with looks & boxing ability. I will say that drug addiction is the worst plague anyone can experience or at least it’s right up there with some of the very very worst things someone can go through. I wish his family the best. I think all we can do is remember him. He’s not gone so long as someone remembers him. “Tommy Gunn you got some guns”. I wanna see his sons make some waves and get some big fights.

    I have a lot more respect for Morrison. I think he definitely had some fantastic ideas on where boxing was heading from a business standpoint, along with UFC, MMA. He would have made a great manager, coach, friend to younger boxers trying to make it. He would have been a great face to professional boxing as a commentator, analyst, etc. It's a shame what happened to him. I think his reputation was tarnished by the media and others in boxing.

There's no way he had it and looked at good 12 years later. I really think Tommy morrison was and is the best heavy weight boxer ever alongside Ali and tyson, Tommy had the raw power, skill and the right attitude to be the most popular boxing fighter of all time, well at least today his fanbase is bigger than any fighter in history, I know a few weasels will argue otherwise but in all serious Ness he has proved himself and he's proved to be a better person in value, skill and the fact that he has been a top record of being on the top level of one of the most visios fighters and highest ko percent of all time for a heavy weight boxer and above all he is one of the most exciting and most popular and powerful fighters ever, I even think that he is slightly above iron Mike tyson which is a feet in itself as iron Mike tyson is a close counterpart to Tommy and I would love to challenge anyone to comment on this subject as it is a close and very very close all time position for anyone out there to talk about with this subject so what do you boxing annylists think about that!??!
