    Even if you don't put anything on them those brackets look useful just for keeping crap from rolling under the seat

    A lot of people complain about the seating position in late model 4Runners and Tacomas, I've driven both and while I don't find it uncomfortable, tilting the seat back like that would definitely be an improvement. The 2nd-gen Colorado/Canyon has way more legroom for people over 6ft tall.

    First time I saw this kind of product was for a Jeep rear seat. Since then I've put spacers under a bunch of my seats to tip them back.

    It is such a simple product but it looks extremely well designed and thought out. Fortunately my k5 blazer seats are comfortable but i like the molle strapping idea

    My new Wrangler JL seats were way too flat for my liking and I suffered the same symptoms as you , Fred. I installed the Desert Does It seat jackers under both front seats and they have worked wonders improving my seating comfort. Great product! Love your content. Keep it coming!

    I used a stack of washers under the front seat bolts on my 79 Mustang to make those terrible seats a little less painful.

    Man you are turning your seat into a Carolina squatter lol. But I feel you on what you are saying those low riding seats are uncomfortable as all can be. My knees have to be bent to be comfortable while driving.

  • @jkusrbetter9519
    @jkusrbetter9519 2 года назад

    They make similar risers for the back seat of JKs. Spend more then an hour in the back seat of one, you'll be in pain also. A few degrees up or down of seat position makes all the difference.

    When I was in the market for a used 4X4 pickup, I test drove a Tacoma and a Ford Ranger. The Ranger won because of the uncomfortable seats in the Tacoma. I probably would have bought the Tacoma if I had known about this fix.

    My 2001 4Runner does this to me, I figured it was because I was 6'2 and it was just cramped. Both my Runner and Tacoma might be getting these.

    Thanks for posting Fred! Do you have a good harness solution for the 4runner with stock seats?

  • @TargaWheels
    @TargaWheels 2 года назад

    Back when I had my '68 elcamino, the problem I had was the seat bottom angled back too much, which forced me to tilt my head slightly forward. Within half an hour I had a throbbing headache and my lower back hurt. I put washers under the rear part of the seat brackets, and that solved it. This was over 20 years ago. You don't need to buy anything. Just washers and longer bolts.

  • @eggdashure
    @eggdashure 2 года назад

    Fred must've broken those bolts loose of camera. At least on my JK, they were so tight I had to use a breaker bar for most of the bolt length. 😳

    I’ll be ordering some of those for my 4 runner. I hate that the seat sits so low in the front.

  • @chrisclinard1907
    @chrisclinard1907 2 года назад

    If they would have had theses 12 years ago I probably would be driving a 4Runner instead of my JK. I test drove a 4Runner back then and found the seats to be uncomfortable for this same reason, felt like my legs where straight out.

  • @littlejimmy2164
    @littlejimmy2164 2 года назад

    I wasn't going to buy a 4runner solely because it killed my knees. I may reconsider now

    I can’t believe you paid for this. That’s something you make out of whatever scrap you have laying around.
    And I have no idea why I watched a 13 minute video about seat spacers. I might be ready to be a Toyota fabricator now?

  • @frankfilippone9679
    @frankfilippone9679 2 года назад

    I don't get why you would want just the front of the seat jacked up? My first gen tacoma I would like to jack the whole seat a little, seats already aren't very comfortable, if I raised the front up only, that would suck! I'd feel like a taco 🌮 in my taco, I'd like a couple inches if anything in the back of the seat, I'm only 5'6 , maybe it's a tall person thing? But definitely a weird idea for short people, it would put your legs further away from the pedals, don't think this would work for my short ass?

  • @brianlorenz9632
    @brianlorenz9632 2 года назад

    are you kidding. these this are $200 for both seats just for the mounts! they sure are proud of those. also they are just aluminum. not sure how they will hold up in an accident. possible insurance issues as i think you’re not supposed to mess with how seats mount. if they see the seat failed and its been modified thats on you.
