The door glass for the CJ-10a is the same as the CJ world cabs. CJ-8 postals from Alaska, CJ-8 Overlanders from Australia, CJ-7 & CJ-8 wagons & vans from England, and the Llanero from Venezuela. To use the round corner doors from a US CJ, you can make filler pieces. Look up Jeff Scherb.
A non-turbo diesel could become a turbo diesel if one were motivated as such.... Cool build idea. Can't wait to see the next steps! I like my craft beers!
We have millions of old petrol and diesel Nissan Patrols in Australia and most of them end up with V8’s in them as the driveline is great but the engines don’t have the best reputation for staying cool or fuel economy. But they are cheap ,tough and spare parts are cheap and everywhere. I loved my old 1989 GQ TB42 except for feeding it fuel, my mate bought it and repaired the rust and is throwing a turbo on it!! Have fun with the build!!
Turbo kits for that engine are plentiful. Just add a bigger radiator and make sure you intercool it. I also run a big separate engine cooler on them. It makes ok power and gets around 30mpg.
You've got a lot of work ahead of you and a short time to get it all done in time for the wedding. Should be great the purpose you have in mind and for a good off road vehicle. Looking forward to the next video.
I drove one of these in the airforce. Not an aircraft tug but used to take generators and other ground support equipment out to aircraft on the flight line. We'd Rev the guts out of them and they always took it😂
For what it's worth, I'd say that frame is from an FSJ, or something else, but is not a CJ frame as they are boxed with a shorter side profile & if it is a frame from an FSJ then you're probably better off updating with the new one because they like to split, often where the bed meets the cab. Maybe not so much in the south, but here in the rust belt, yes. I had one that split twice. I fixed it once then it split again in a separate spot which sent it to retirement. Wish I still had the drivetrain from that: Wildcat Buick 350, backed by a 4 speed & t-case. Personal note: I love the cab, but if it were mine, I'd probably swap on a traditional CJ front clip. Also, with the VIN finishing with 392 & the donor frame already having held a 392, it seems fate is telling you something.
I had a S10 Blazer that used all the running gear from a 77 Scout, including a NA SD33 diesel. Hope you don't plan on going anywhere fast Fred, that motor was sloooooooooooowwww 😅
Okay, I’m hooked on this series. What year model is that thing? I see the rectangular headlights. And who built it ? A Nissan diesel doesn’t sound at home in a Jeep - any Jeep.
It is a Jeep CJ-10A. The short version is Jeep made the CJ-10 for the Australian market as a four wheel drive ute (pickup). It was a bit of a sales dud, so they heavily modified it into the CJ-10A, which was an airport tug (two wheel drive) for sale in North America.
I'll give u my 79 cj7 sign a title over even for nothing. It's got a v8. New transfer case. It runs and drives. Just to see it on the channel. If not ill offer it to frybuger. Lmao for real tho

Audio was great. Nice to see you back on the screen, Fred.

Great project! Not like all those axle-snapping overpowered atrocities!
How much for the 2WD I-beam?
Looking good so far! Can't wait to see the end result.
Years ago I tried to buy a scout II with the nissan diesel. I've only seen one in a Scout
nice I found you again you tube censuring your channel
Contact some guys from down under about putting a turbo on that mule. Maybe Gale Banks would tell you what you need.
Don’t do it Tony !!!!!!! well build the jeep
Okay put a turbo on the thing already. That’s all it needs.?to be awesome.
You should keep your frame to put under your flat fender just in case.

Hey Fred do you ever check the old Facebook Page you had when doing DED ?
DOES THIS TRANSER CASE HAVE A ODD LOW RANGE GEARING THAT MIGHT FIT A REGULAR TRANSFER CASE ? AND BEST IF LUCK TO THE GROOM !
They are pinned in low range for tug duty. They can be made to have high gear.

Why does it still have a transfer case if it's a 2WD
to get addition low gearing to pulling airplanes
Hey are you sending out friend request and offering trucks as gifts or you been hacked
