  • Welcome back to Concealed Coalition! In this video, Austin Davis, our National Director of Training, is here to answer one of the most commonly asked questions by our members:
    What is constitutional carry?
Constitutional carry, often referred to as unrestricted carry or permitless carry, is your fundamental right to carry a firearm without having to obtain a government permit or seek permission. It’s a topic that holds a lot of weight in the world of gun laws.
In most places where constitutional carry is recognized, if you are legally allowed to purchase a firearm, you are legally allowed to carry one as well. However, it’s essential to understand that even in permitless constitutional carry states, there might be specific places and situations where carrying a firearm is either restricted or forbidden. Because of this, knowing expectations and limitations of where you are is crucial.
If you plan to travel across state lines or enter federal or restricted areas, it becomes even more critical to be well-informed about the evolving landscape of your rights and responsibilities as they may change.
As of right now, there are 27 states that legally recognize constitutional carry, and it’s a topic that’s well worth taking the time to understand if you’re a firearm owner or enthusiast. If you have more questions about this or any other aspect of gun laws, please feel free to send them our way.
