I'd love to get to know you more! And it would be a great promotion opportunity for you. Tell me what you'd write in the first 2-3 lines of your About Section. ➡️ Answer the questions, “What do you do?” and “Who do you help?”. ➡️ Write your answer in the comments here on RUclips. I would love to get to know you! 😀

Thank you Kara, I struggle to present myself with both my career interest and my digital skill grit right in the first 2-3 lines since I am actively passionate about both. After seeing this, I'll see how to draft out something smart.
Hi Kara, thanks for providing such helpful advice on writing a LI About section. I'm taking the leap from 30+ years in the IT industry to putting both feet in on a startup I co-founded. I'm Finding it hard to distinguish between the About me and the About the new venture. Any guidance you can provide is much appreciated. I miss visiting my Perth Motorola team, great people, great place.
Thanks for watching Off the Wall Energy! It's a great question about distinguishing between about you and about the company you're starting. The About section on LinkedIn should be 90% focused on you. You can talk about what you do in your company and since it's your start up, you could also include a short paragraph on what the company does. But I would put the main focus on your role/contribution to the company. You can also start a company page on LinkedIn and that's a great place to share more information about the company. It's great to connect with somebody who also lives in Perth :)
Kara, Thank You for this wonderful and helpful information! The first lines of my About Section are: Are You looking for earthy and romantic, flower magic and bohemian chic-inspired jewelry? Whether You want to treat Yourself, seeking something special for Your wedding day or searching for the perfect gift, Dreamer with Pearls has something magical for You.
Hi Kara :) Hey, on the part where you talk about including your contact information in the about section. There is a place at the top of the profile where I already have that filled in. When you press the "contact Info" button, all that information displays. Now, do I need to also add that to the written text in the about section as a 3rd component, in the same section where you talk about the first two components?
Hi John, thanks for your question and for watching the video. Yes, there is another place to enter contact information as you described. In addition to this, it's often a good idea to put it in the About Section. The reason for this is people have to click the "contact info" button to get your contact info. This is another barrier that some people may not do. To take away this barrier and encourage more people to contact you, I suggest you put your contact info in your About Section as well - usually at the end. I hope this answers your question.
