I feel like Mastadonte would probably love God of Blackfield, it’s an action comic where a top mercenary dies in battle (after one of his teammates betrays the group and gets them killed in an ambush) and enters the body of a bullied highschooler after the kid tries to kill himself and goes into a coma. It’s really interesting, because you learn that not everyone who died at that battle *actually* died.
It’s pretty new on tapastic, but there’s a good amount of chapters to start with. I’d 100% reccomend it!

I wonder what Richie/Gear would be doing in this reboot. I really loved the bros relationship he had with static in the cartoon.
I hope he comes through, but I think he's going to show up much later when Virgil has a bunch of experience as a vigilante
I loved the Static Cartoon as a kid and Static is in my top 10 favorite DC heroes I love characters that got electric superpowers and how static uses his powers is so cool. This is probably gonna one of the few comic books I’m gonna read
It's damn definitely sounds like this comic is getting a lot of good recognition especially with how well done the family is written. Like seriously this is a very very well done family and I already liked Virgil when I was a kid and I still love the dude now but this version not is urgent not only does he like anime but he even did the viewtiful Joe henshin a Gogo baby pose as a kid mind you......... He is such a precious guy and I wish he was my little brother lol. It's also I definitely do enjoy the whole aspect of what's going to be happening later on especially if we're gonna get a rematch between Virgil and Francis so overall the cliffhanger was dope, Virgil as a nerd who likes anime is dope and this comic is dope! Great job with this review of the recent 3 issues Donte!

Hardware is mentioned in the static shock episode gear when they were suggesting names for richie's superheroe name and static says I think somebody's using it.

Hardware wasn't in the old cartoon; but he was loosely mentioned in it. When Virgil and Ritchie are going over possible names for Ritchie's new hero persona, one of the names he suggests is "Hardware" but Virgil vetoed it saying "I think someone's already using that.". I do wonder why he and some of the other Milestone guys didn't show up; especially in the first 2 seasons where the DC heroes weren't yet used.

I've never bought comics before this run of Static he was always my favourite hero as a kid. I'm just hoping they don't off a parent in the next issues I'm liking the family dynamic and given how they know he has powers I wanna see how they react to seeing him do some hero shit.

I'm digging the new Static comics. It's more relatable than the original one and the cartoon. And I hope they deliver on the friendship with him and Richie. They were brothers in all aspects even though they weren't blood related. Darius being made a main character is great too. He needs to be a prominent character in some ways.
Hardware in the old Millstone comics was more of a African American Psycho type character
He wasn’t exactly a superhero but a guy looking for revenge against his white boss for not handling over the company over to him. He decides to become a superhero after he kills his boss🤷♂️
I think that’s what happened been a while since I read those comics
Ah copy. Man a lot of the Milestone characters were WAY deeper than I thought
Lets not forget that Alva, the boss, was also on the biggest crime lords in Dakota and Hardware did a lot of good in fighting him, even though it began for selfish reasons. He grew to become a hero. It was actually a very pleasant soft character arc. Also Hardware didn't kill Alva.

@@therussiancomicbookgeek I recently finished reading all the Milestone comics. I could elaborate more but then someone could get spoiled.
First of all he never killed his boss. That was his objective in the first few issues but he doesn't do it. Second he didn't become a vigilante because his boss didn't hand over the company to him. Third, he's not psycho.
He becomes a vigilante because he's being treated unfairly as far as compensation and credit for his work and being trapped into working for Alva basically for the rest of his life. He basically enslaved him to himself and was running a bunch of illegal operations. So Curtis originally becomes Hardware for revenge to kill him but then a few issues in changes his mind and makes it his mission to instead take him down from the inside by foiling all his plans.
I hope Vergil’s mom or anyone of his family doesn’t die if they do go to his house.

Holocaust is the ebon of the series. He was in the original comic too. I was surprised they left him out of the cartoon but I love Ebon

I was watching Young Justice season 3 a while before the comic run started , and apparently holocaust was actually in the show. The comics version isn't like the show version, but I do really like how the crew behind the comics is using already existing characters like this.

I grew up watching the show. I equate the heaviness of Killmonger's "Bury me in the ocean" line with the episode of Virgil's going to Africa and stating that he didn't realize the weight he carried on his shoulders as a black kid and in Africa he was just a kid. Two different stages of my life but both just as strong

I really like your joy for the comics medium,do you have the older Milestone issues from the 90's?? Have you considered creating and publishing your own creations?? You seem to have the joy and creative enthusiasm.Did you buy the Icon issues??When Milestone hit in the 90's it was HUGE!!! The creators did tv interviews,NEWSWEEK did an article on the creators.Back in the 90's certain comicbooks were selling in the millions.Todd McFarlane's Spderman#1 sold 3 million issues,Jim Lee's X-Men #1 sold 7 or 8 million,not really sure on the exact number.The ROARING 90's was problaly the best decade for comicbook sales in comics history.And you had the formation of MILESTONE and IMAGE Comics in the 90's.

They only met a few times but, at first, he did encourage Virgil to pursue the path of darkness.

Holocaust starts out in the Blood Syndicate comics and then appears throughout the Milestone series', eventually getting his own mini-series which is pretty awesome. The original Milestone comics are gradually being uploaded to Comixology, as Nzosaba said.

I’m feelin the new Static but him stressing about his powers is cliche. A real nigga from the hood would be hyped about those powers..kinda scared but hyped at the same time. I hope Hotstreak becomes a more often than not character unlike the cartoon and become more of a antihero rather than a villain. Hopefully both of em grow in power much like Storm and Vulcan from Marvel and I can see how most blacks would be upset about the BLM situation and it’s probably because of the truth behind BLM. I wish he’d kept a more hood/street wear fit as his uniform. Nichols Draper-Ivey has some amazing art so I can’t wait to see what he does with Virgil swag..I’m not really interested in the hero uniform.

I relate more to nerdy original comic Virgil, he felt more real and he took a lot more Ls but ultimately overcome most problems. Holocaust was on some fuck shit.
I can understand that
But surely if your life was turned upside down and you were inches close to death because of the Big Bang, would you be as jolly as classic Virgil was so quickly. New Virgil is perfectly normal in being upset and gloomy, as are his family who are as confused as he is. In issue #3, we see him gradually becoming the wisecracking geek he originally was and I'm sure we will see more of it once he gets used to this crazy situation he's in.

Did anyone else notice that Frieda suddenly became black in issue 3? I mean, she looks good but it seems like too big a change to go unnoticed. I don't think any of the creators have confirmed whether it was an accident or a conscious decision. I'm loving the series but that's way too sloppy a mistake.
