This might sound off, but is kinda refreshing reading a comic/manga that has a black protagonist, and is based in a country that probably nobody knows about, bringing a bit of its culture to light, Trinidad and Tobago, the art is just amazing, the characters are interesting and each have their bit of personality and charm, and story seems quite interesting, nice, read it, is so Damm good
I'm such a big fan of ORDEAL, I can't believe this just showed up in my feed today! I started reading ORDEAL when it was one of WEBTOON's Canvas stories. Jumped back in when it became a WEBTOON Original. I just love seeing the diaspora well represented in a webtoon. The art and story, mind blowing! Right now ORDEAL and ELECEED are my favorite toons, once that notification hits I'm pulling them up to read.
The art took me back to the 80s and 90s with art reminisced of Mcfarlane, Jim Lee and Liefield. The story is a banger too but the lore is great. When the lore is great to its like you can do several stories from that itself.

Ilios is like a combination of Helios and Ares. You see he has the omega symbol behind him indicating war. Thanatos is also a play on Hades. Three of the great talents came from Zeus, Posedian and Hades essentially. They turned Ares into a fourth brother to round it out.
I've been reading this since they added it to the feature. I love the fact that every episode has a fire ass track attached to it, and it conveys the intensity of the webtoon accurately
Dude, I just finished reading season 1 of ordeal, and it quickly shot up to one of my favorite comics of all time. The story characters and art are all top teir imo. It jumps back and forth between backstory and present day, which is a little jarring at first but it's not too bad. But I can say that you are never left feeling bored while reading this comic. Brent is a genius!!!!!!
I read it every week and show support as much as I can cause I'm always gonna support unique black projects just for our collective betterment. Everything about this web tool is absolutely TOP TIER I SWEAR and I hope to God we get more and more stories in this world. But the dialog sends me up a wall sometimes. It's more of a personal gripe than anything else. If you like good stores, great artwork (I cannot stress this enough) GREAT artwork, and a passionate author then just start this now don't even hesitate.
Ordeal is absolute fire and can't wait for season 2, you can see the love for the project and characters. It also helps that it's a take on our world that is very interesting with each character being unique and having a bit of love in all of them.

Man, I read this before it became a Webtoon original, and I loved it! One of my first thoughts was being glad to see so much diversity on Webtoon, also the artwork was some of the best I'd seen on that website. I was also happy to see that Che's friends weren't just random side characters, and had some significance and badass skills of their own. I'm happy that the creator gets to keep going with it, because it's honestly one of the most memorable webcomics I've read mostly because of how beautiful it looks.

You should check Out Terror Man. I have read a good amount of the manhwa so far and with each chapter, it only seems to be getting better. The story hints things and then builds towards revealing the secrets which it’s hinted towards. The protagonists are charismatic and they are very awesome characters. There are a few generic ones, but those are the unimportant side characters! I feel that just like the HIVE manhwa, Terror Man has a beautiful way of displaying the manhwa in a unique style. It features black and white panels, some with colour and some with full colour. I recommend you read this manhwa as soon as possible as you won’t regret it!

The real reason why this Webtoon doesn't get more coverage is simple, racism. The whole platform dislikes black people. I myself have meet this multiple times of the webtoon. When discussing my dismay for the racism design of Marine Lee from God of High School, a webtoon user literally said "be glad the author decided to include your kind". On top of that, puts up posters for webtoons that have your basic cast of east-asian & white people & they keep them up there with barley any time for Webtoons with blatant Black main characters. There has been new webtoons that stayed up there past the time for the webtoon to have "New Series" on its cover. So, the racism runs into the company as well. Literally during Black History month, they put panel showing black owned webtoons down neared the bottom of the page while they keep main advertising to other webtoons that don't feature Black characters. & during this time, a Webtoon BTS had something to do with was being advertised on the main page.

@Pupil @Roel James Ramos. It's still ranked in the 20s on Webtoon's action section. Druid of Soul is more recent than Ordeal & you know what? It's ranking is #8. So, when it comes out doesn't mean anything. Right now, there's a new action webtoon called Happiness ranked #9. Also, Hero Killer came out the same year & is ranked #13 & has maintained that that spot (at times maybe 1-2 values higher or lower). Ordeal as of right now is #20. Multiple times, it's either ranked lower than #20 or isn't even on the ranking chart. You saying a few months made that much a difference? We almost didn't get Black Panther because of some racist scum bag. It could been made just like any other Marvel movie/tv show. That same fool literally choose to make a sorry tv show named Inhumans instead of make a movie about Black Panther or any powerful Marvel woman. You can't convince me that Ordeal isn't victim to systematic oppression. It's a fact that racism against Black people is systematic to this day & there's a whole Netflix series that had that quoted from the mouth of a man.

In a Superpower Wiki user & I use a lot of my main examples as Kimyos. I actually got some people on the site to read it. I've also put them under known users for popular powers under there as well. On the Webtoon fandom, I even made a page for it. I feel this webtoon is going to rise eventually because at the end of the day, we got a Black Panther movie. All Brent Grey needs to be is get lucky. Let 1 of these popular Black celebs see it & like it, they'll put that on their story then boom. Anime has become more & more popular cuz multiple main stream celebs have shown a liking for it & the masses have followed or came out as fans. I feel this may gain a similar affect. Hopefully.

The real reason why this Webtoon doesn't get more coverage is simple, racism. The whole platform dislikes black people. I myself have meet this multiple times of the webtoon. When discussing my dismay for the racism design of Marine Lee from God of High School, a webtoon user literally said "be glad the author decided to include your kind". On top of that, puts up posters for webtoons that have your basic cast of east-asian & white people & they keep them up there with barley any time for Webtoons with blatant Black main characters. There has been new webtoons that stayed up there past the time for the webtoon to have "New Series" on its cover. So, the racism runs into the company as well.
Literally during Black History month, they put panel showing black owned webtoons down neared the bottom of the page while they keep main advertising to other webtoons that don't feature Black characters. & during this time, a Webtoon BTS had something to do with was being advertised on the main page.

@Pupil @Roel James Ramos. It's still ranked in the 20s on Webtoon's action section. Druid of Soul is more recent than Ordeal & you know what? It's ranking is #8. So, when it comes out doesn't mean anything. Right now, there's a new action webtoon called Happiness ranked #9. Also, Hero Killer came out the same year & is ranked #13 & has maintained that that spot (at times maybe 1-2 values higher or lower). Ordeal as of right now is #20. Multiple times, it's either ranked lower than #20 or isn't even on the ranking chart. You saying a few months made that much a difference?
We almost didn't get Black Panther because of some racist scum bag. It could been made just like any other Marvel movie/tv show. That same fool literally choose to make a sorry tv show named Inhumans instead of make a movie about Black Panther or any powerful Marvel woman. You can't convince me that Ordeal isn't victim to systematic oppression. It's a fact that racism against Black people is systematic to this day & there's a whole Netflix series that had that quoted from the mouth of a man.

@@pupil5763 I'm supporting Ordeal. I actually barley read any other webtoon. I've actually been trying to get this series more exposure as much as I can do. In a Superpower Wiki user & I use a lot of my main examples as Kimyos. I actually got some people on the site to read it. I've also put them under known users for popular powers under there as well. On the Webtoon fandom, I even made a page for it.
I feel this webtoon is going to rise eventually because at the end of the day, we got a Black Panther movie. All Brent Grey needs to be is get lucky. Let 1 of these popular Black celebs see it & like it, they'll put that on their story then boom. Anime has become more & more popular cuz multiple main stream celebs have shown a liking for it & the masses have followed or came out as fans. I feel this may gain a similar affect. Hopefully.
