4 cameras, nice little rising closeups, playing smoothly with everything upside-down... You deserve more views.
Hieronymus Pseudonymous, thank you very much for your comment. It's great to hear that you like our videos. Hopefully we will keep growing, but for now all we can do is try to keep on improving and try to make the best board game videos we can. We really appreciate your support!
Came here to say the same thing. Very polished playthough.
@@madthinker7777 Thanks a lot John. We're delighted and encouraged to get such nice feedback. Glad you like our video!
Agreed, very smooth to watch
Nicely done with the camera angles and zooms to actually be able to read the cards. This made me understand well how the game works, thanks!
That's great to hear mygalacticempire! We're glad our video helped you understand the game. Did you get a chance to play it yourself?
@@AllAboardBoardgames Not yet, but I’m sure we’ll bring it on the table soon. Thanks again!
@@mygalacticempire You're welcome. I'm sure you will have a lot of fun when you get it to the table. It's a great game!
Y’all have made such a good resource for board games, thank you both 🤘
Thank you very much for your kind comment. We are very happy that you like our videos and we are also delighted to provide a resource for this great community to help gamers learn how to play, see what the games are like before buying or just enjoy watching playthroughs! Cheers!
You two have the best play through videos! Great job!
Thank you Billy! We’re very happy to hear you enjoy our videos. We appreciate the kind comment!
Thank you
You are welcome. We're glad that you liked the video!
Order is restored. Glai is winning again.
I know nothing about this game but it was fun to see what looked like very different strategies. I thought for a while that all those resources Pat collected would lead to another win, but Glai were obviously only toying with her prey.
SIrbrastias!
Yes, there is really nothing I can do to stop her! Not that I am happy that this is considered "order"... haha... She just wanted to make me feel as if I had a chance but then sprung her Dragon's Lair on me and that was it. Res Arcana is a really fun game though. I must say I have been really enjoying it!
moooore res arcana matches! MOOOOOOOOOOOOre
Haha! Thank you for watching!
I've been playing the windup man wrong 😅 thank you for showing me how to play!
No problem Demel! Glad that our video helped you! :-)
Finally I little understood this game. Thanks
That is great Lubos Grolmus. We're glad that our video was able to help you!
Your channel just came up in my recommendations. Amazing camera work and great playthrough! Thanks for the video. Just subbed.
Thank you Pryde551! We are delighted to hear that you like our videos. Thanks a lot for the sub - we hope you find more videos on our channel that you enjoy. Happy New Year to you!
@@AllAboardBoardgames Happy New Year to you as well!
Good video and gameplay of Res Arcana - thank you. Please do another one with the expansions.
Thank you Henrik. We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed the video. I'll keep an eye out for the expansions and if we get our hands on a copy it would be great to revisit Res Arcana for another playthrough!
This game is great. Played it a lot because of the online adaptation on board game arena. The hardest part of the game is in the early game. I usually have AP at the initial turns on which path to take. The last few turns are just mechanical in cranking your engines getting those extra points.
@psiblast005 Agreed that it is indeed a great game! Trying to get your engine going in the early game is quite tough, and there are a lot of choices to make which leads to tons of strategy (and, as you say AP!). There is a nice bit of variety because of the different Mages you get and the Places of Power that come out so great replay value to the game too. I love the artwork too and everything feels nice and streamlined. Thanks a lot for your comment!
ok so I have been playing down our collection while being isolated & you guys happen to have shot playthroughs of a few of our games, this being one of them. This was a good playthrough that I used to introduce my SO to the game, something I have been puzzling over cause she's not that interested in gaming, particularly involving games like this w/ cards that involve building an engine, card comboing, etc. But your video helped me introduce her to the game & now that we have played it a number of times, it's definitely one we will keep going forward. So thumbs up & thanks!
Hi Andrew! It's great to hear that you were able to introduce your SO to the game through our video. We love hearing that our videos have helped promote the hobby and it's fantastic that you are now playing this awesome game together. Thanks a lot for your comment. What are the other games that you like to play?
@@AllAboardBoardgames o boy you put me on the spot....we have a lot of great games in our collection. But ultimately I find I am not so much a member of the "cult of the new" anymore so the older classic games are still the ones that mostly are played, ie., Catan, Carcassonne, Kingdom Builder, Castles of Burgundy, etc. We have newer games like Wingspan & Suburbia that have yet to be played. Next up will probably be Suburbia, I see you have a playthrough for that one so I will watch it next I think. Thanks again!
@@andrewwalsh531 Suburbia is a superb game! I really like it. I used to play a bit of Sim City on the SNES back in the day, and this is the closest I have seen to it in a board game. It is not so difficult to learn, but there is quite a bit to keep track of when you place your tiles. Still, I like it a lot! Wingspan too is a lot of fun.
The old classics are great and we still play them as much as our newer games! I haven't played Castles of Burgundy actually, but I do plan on getting it at some stage. I have heard it is really good.
Subscribed! Great play throughs, can’t wait to see y’all play Rebellion back there!
Thanks a lot Sergio and welcome aboard! We are very excited about playing Rebellion too and will definitely get around to making a video of it some time soon.
Hi Sergio! Sorry it has taken quite a while but just thought I'd drop you a line to let you know that we finally got around to doing a playthrough of Rebellion. Hope you enjoy it, if you get around to watching! Cheers!
@@AllAboardBoardgames Awesome! Can’t wait to watch, that’s one of my favorites!
@@sergio160 It's a very intense game, and looks very cool on the table too. Looking forward to hearing what you think!
A pity you didn’t use the great expansion there! ;) but it did help me to learn the rules. Keep up the good work! Like your playthroughs.
Great play through. Just bought the game and this was the most helpful video to learn it I’ve seen! Question - on 20:40 could you have picked up Research again or you must switch and you just forgot you had Research the prior round?
Thanks a lot wøunds drone! Glad the playthrough helped you. You are correct - I got distracted and forgot that I had just used Research, so I should not have been allowed to take it again. Thank you for letting me know. I have added the error to the Klingon subtitles.
At first I found the exhaust/reanimate mechanic strange. But at the end I saw how you can build hands that chain exhaust-reanimate moves into long runs. Well done.
Hi zax!
If you can build your engine well, the exhaust/reanimate mechanic can be very powerful. I feel that if I had managed to survive just one more round, I might have been able to get enough points. Res Arcana is great in that there are quite a few different strategies that you can take to win. It's a really good game!
Any chance that you could do a Glen More II: Chronicles playthrough?
We do not currently have a copy of Glen More II: Chronicles, but it does look like a great game. We'll keep an eye out for it and if we can pick it up somewhere for a good deal we would be very happy to do a playthrough of it!
Where are you from? Neither of you looks like a native of Japan (your location on your BGG profile).
Hieronymus Pseudonymous, we are based in Japan but I am originally from Ireland and Glai is from the Philippines!
Instead of having the cards upside down for you guys, couldn't you have just spun the camera around?
Hi again JW. Spinning the camera around only works for the top-down camera. For the other ones it looks awkward and uncomfortable so we play upside down to give you guys a better view of what is going on. Thanks for the suggestion!
6:20 You didn't discard an essence. Illegal turn
Hi JW. When I mentioned here that I discard an essence to draw a card, I was referring to the ability of the Research card, but I was not playing it yet - this would only be available for use from the next turn. The card that I drew then was the card that you get to draw after you pass.
