Hello everybody! I haven't played Res Arcana in a while! I went to play these days and I was in doubt regarding the artifact called windup automaton that says: Turn the card horizontally and spend any essence to place it on top of the automaton. So far so good! The doubt is related to the collection phase that says if you leave the essence on the automaton card, take 2 essences of each. So I don't remember, I take two of each color from the central stock, (Ex: 2 yellow, 2 green, 2 red, 2 blue and 2 black), regardless of the essences left on the card, or two of each color also from the central stock related to essence or essences left in the automaton? (Ex: Did I leave one green and one red on the card, did I take two of each color from the central stock, or just two more green and two red?) Hugs to all!
If you'd taken the 3 fire at 12:45 instead you could have generated 3 gold and then got the alchemist's tower right? Then could you generate 6 resources every round?
At 6:57 Jen taps her Ring of Midas card for the second gold. Thus, your Kingon comment at 8:06 is inaccurate. Definitely some confusion there due to improperly untapping the card and using it again.
No... the subtitles are correct, and the play is also correct... he just did a little backtracking to change the order of the actions to end the round with one more gold than he would if he did tap the card when he did the first time... To explain better, he had tapped the card to get 1 gold... then he realized that if he didn't tap the card to do that, he could first tap the other card, get the Death, then turn the Death into o 2 Life, than use it on the card that he tapped previously and that he now has backtracked... using the 2 life on that card doesn't exhaust it and places a gold there... after doing that he taps the card to get another gold there... so ends up with 3 gold in the card and now the card should be exhausted
A bit more scattered and confusing than normal Radho. For a game this complex you should play it more than two or three times or pass on reviewing it. Thank you though for what you do, I appreciate it, and most of the time your 'living in the moment' option paralysis is charming but in this case it's stressful for the viewer, at least this viewer. I just wanted to share that. peace!
I think it would have helped if he'd even just taken the time to think through this one game properly. That said, still nice to get an idea of how the game plays out. Definitely one I'm going to pick up at some point!
what a good time you have, I love when you take the bow and you make like Jen screams ... hehe
