Long overdue thank you. 1) Thank you for having a direct hand in Syphon Filter, it's one of the finest memories I have of my brother before his illness. Watching him complete it, me helping out or rather him letting me assist, I got him killed so many times cos i sucked lol. At 35 now, I still have memories like that which make me smile. It's minds like yours which have far reaching impacts. 2) years on, without my brother nearby, I found your videos, your review style is my go-to. Party play through, part rules, all thought process. I was in a ward for mental health two years ago. Your reviews as always were my go-to. I was allowed to order items in. I got many a board game on your enthusiasm. I guess i just want to say thank you. For being you and all you do. I'm just a dude in the UK. But your actions in this world are one of the reasons I am able to still be here typing this. Keep running Rahdo :)
I've been away from playing boardgames for a while (5+ years, I lost track), I just ordered LRoA because of Black Friday, I spent 15e for both it and the 1st expansion and I decided to watch one of your playthroughs which I used to love watching when buying a new game, or relearning an old one. God, I missed your enthusiasm! Thank you Rahdo, you're awesome. Keep doing the great work you're doing. Also, thanks to Jen for supporting you and us gamers. You guys are the best!
Looks like a game I want to play. Boardgamearena has it for 2 - 4 players. You are my first go-to reviewer for any game that interests me because of the play through and not just the rules. Thanks for being here.
I have this and the expansion on the way, and I couldn’t be more excited! For the sake of short people I like to put front-and-center at the board for readability purposes, I wish the card offer was situated at the bottom. Nobody will have trouble seeing the most basic spaces in play. Layout is part of what makes Wingspan so great for my group. Great video, Richard!

Question: at 55:05 you are passing. Couldn’t you have exchanged the parchment to an arrow head and advanced your investigation track?
Hi, great video. Thanks for that. Some quick comments, Around 20min in, when you pick an idol you have to resolve it immediately. At 37min, you need to pay the cost (in that case a bost) to dig into a site. Hope that helps
Hi, the first comment you make is incorrect, you don't have to use the Idol immediately, you can store it and use it when you want, like Richard did... the Lighting bolt symbol in this game means it's a free action it doesn't mean "immediate" like in most other games. The second comment was already noted in the Klingon subtitles, please, like Richard asks at the start of the video (and do it in all of his videos, even if he doesn't ask for it), Turn ON the klingon subtitles to see when he makes a goof
@@PauloRenato23 you are wrong. The rule says “Take the idol. Immediately resolve the idol’s effect. If the site has two idols, you take them both, but use only the effect of the face-up one.”
@@raz9462 I was mislead when I replied to Rigneau by my, at the time, recent plays on BGA where I think it was allowed to store them and use later, or I was confusing them with the Guardian's Boons... I say this because I had already made a note at 18:45 explaining exactly that it has to be used immediately... cheers
12:06 why does Jenn get to do 2 main actions? Buy a card and place her archeologist? I haven’t played the game myself. Only started reading the manual today and the one main action thing stood out to me
I noticed that too. But somehow because the rest of the audio is so clear I noticed that the "s" sounds are weirdly sharp. Should be easy enough to fix with some equalization though.
I'm back again for another look as I'm trying to decide between this and Merchants of the Dark Road. I know you reviewed both and I've watch both, but I'm watching them again. BTW, on my second time around, I noticed something in the design of how the initial worker placement spots work, specifically the boots. Thematically, I think the number of boots should have been reversed. The first person pays more, more effort to make the trail. Anyone who follows requires less boots because there is already a path. Just my spin on it. Perhaps for reasons of game balance it wouldn't work, but I like it for the theme/plot.
Here's something novel, Paulo made a goof! At 18:19 you are saying that getting rid of "Fear" will earn Jen a point (which in effect is true), but Paulo corrected it to "a negative point" because he thought you were talking about the card itself, not the getting rid of the card.
I don't understand it that way... To me, Richard said "it's giving her a point" while point at the -1... to me he was saying that the card was worth 1 point when he meant to say that if she keeps the card, at the end of the game it will be worth -1 point and that's why she would want to get rid of it, and that's what I pointed out... Guess it could be read both ways, so not a Paulo goof :)
Love your videos! I'm curious about "she does not have a plane" ~17 min in. I thought she got a plane with the turtle she "found". I'll see if I can figure out my question, though ...
She does not have a plane in her hand that she can use to travel... that card she bought previously that has a plane in the top left corner is on her discard pile
Around 17:00 So does the Exploring work like a tech tree - where you need to first advance to the first row before you can move beyond it, or can you go anywhere you would like? Also, for that matter, does Research work like a tech tree? Thinking about it, it would seem more likely that Research would be more likely to work like a tech tree - in that first you need to research something on the first row, which would allow you to research something else, etc. Or do neither work like that in this game?
research is tree like, as you always move up one step from a previous step. but exploring you can go anywhere that you can afford to, any time you want. and once somebody has gone to a place for the first time, then anyone can go in the future without having to spend the exploration tokens (as it's now been discovered)
Do you feel like the board is too tall/long? I feel like I would want to turn it sideways so it could fit on my table easier and I wouldn't have to reach so far to grab cards at the top of the board. Great video as always.
yup, her etsy store is etsy.com/shop/jeneferhamglass she doesn't have the dice towers listed now, but contact her through that page and she can hook you up! :)
Thanks Rahdo for another fun run-through. I'm sill on the fence with this one. Not sure how well it will play solo. Just curious...how does gaining a tiger claw hairpin and its ability to allow you to get rid of a card relate to the theme, would you say?
well, considering the card you'll likely get rid of is a fear card, being successful in your quest to find relics of the lost society seems to me like something that could help you over come your fear of continuing :)
It helps you comb through any tangles in your deck? It keeps the hair out of your eyes, allowing you to focus on your goals? I mean have you ever tried to fight a giant red tiger monster with hair in you face?
Long overdue thank you.

Super cool to see some more of Jen's glass in this video!
Thanks for the play though. Really helped me understand the game.
How can we purchase some of Jen’s glasswork?? Those are beautiful!!
you can find her store at etsy.com/shop/jeneferhamglass :)
Thanks for this! Just got this game and it's fantastic.

Oh it’s because the relic card lets you place your archeologist
Do you draw another card from your deck after you play a card, so that you always have 5 cards in your hand?
nope, if that were the case the game would likely never end! :)
@@rahdo Ok thanks!

At 39:55 Richard spends a Fear card from Jens deck to pay the boot for using the basecamp site.
I call the explore tokens "exploritos". Just felt like sharing that.

it's not too bad, if you leave the bottom component board in the box :)
Why is the research tree different here?
the board is 2 sided, i'm showing the "more advanced" version :)

Okay fine... I guess this is on the top of my list now...
at 15:17 you just do the discard action but didn´t pay the boots-card for your action "Dig at a site"
it was already noted in the klingon subtitles
I am a bit confused whether this is actually simple to learn or not???
not too bad! :)
Love the t-shirt ♥️ now I have even more respect for you.

Love the shirt!
At 36:25 you didnt pay for Jen's traveling
Like Richard asks at the start of the video, please turn on the Klingon Subtitles! It was already noted in there! Thanks
