Rahdo, the first move on spending a resource to build the wall is incorrect--13:02. The fort is linked to the cippi and the wall. You need to first use a builder or soldier to man the fort.
Thanks for this run-through! Considering the fact we only live five miles from Wallsend (it's what it sounds like) as the crow flies, we were definitely looking into getting this game, if only for its local historic relevance to us! Add to that our love of euro-ey resource management games and roll and writes, this one seems a no-brainer for our collection...
How can you billed step one of the wall if you didn't build your first part of the wall yet? I think your first move already was wrong for this reason.
Excellent game but this isn't no light snack. This game will take you around 1 hour to learn and will take another 30 minutes to teach but If that doesn't put you off, you will be in for a real treat👍I'm not a big fan of roll/flip and writes but I very much like this. Thanks for the 🏃♂️though Rahdo👍
I'm a little surprised to see meeples/resource pieces in a roll & write/flip & fill game. The same type of resource/meeple management could have been achieved by a circle/cross-off tracker like in the game Corinth. Great runthrough though!
i think there's way too many resources earned and spent, in all the different types. in a typical game, probably around 100 or maybe more transfers with all the combo chaining, and totally unpredictable what types of resources you'll be trading in, so that would be a HUGE grid! :)
The sheets are dense enough already without needing to make room for resource trackers. They did experiment with other methods of tracking progress, but found that pencil and paper worked best. Check out the design blog on BGG for more info. I’ve played the game a few times now and it’s just so satisfying to be moving meeples back and forth, checking off boxes, setting off combos. I highly recommend it!
Hello Radho, great runthrough. A small mistake was made with building the small hotel, u used a servant and a builder, but did not pay te resource (stone)
yes, it's true. i'm looking into why it's started happening but haven't figured it out yet. i could just put a recording delay on the PIP, but so far the main window delay has been incosistent. so still working on it! :)
Absolutely love this game. The right amount of crunchiness for me 👍
Hi Rahdo. Nice to see this covered, as I live near Wallsend, named after the end of the wall here in the northeast of England.
First impression of the game components... excel spreadsheets :D
Wait wait wait.... Rahdo run's through Hadrian's Wall and doesn't even shout OHHH YEAHHH!! like the Kool Aid Man
a missed opportunity, most definitely!

But, you caught yourself at 27.20
All's well that ends well :)
Thanks for covering this! I’m waiting for my pre-ordered copy and this will keep me from constantly checking Garphill’s site for updates 😏
Yaaas! the "Flip N' Fill" term is catching on! I love it :p

Forest Hall!
I can't look at the box art without thinking of Sam Healey. :D
and now i can't unsee that!

if you mean at 13:08 it was already noted in the Klingon subtitles

This is a prime candidate for app assisted version especialy for 1 player.
Is there a video about your camera/audio setup? I couldn't find one on your channel.
hi there, check faq.rahdo.com #16 :)
@@rahdo thanks!
@@rahdo Thanks for sharing this. Was super fun to see "behind the scenes" and how you manage it all.

The way they've done it in this game seems like something I'd prefer over any other method.

Rahdo, the last several videos have had the main video out of sync with the audio and inset video

@@rahdo maybe this is what you mean, but the important part is syncing the main window with the audio
hi radho,, rome & roll or Hadrian's wall?
HW for us, but i only ever played a prototype of R&R, so i can't speak definitively
We aren't building walls anymore, Richard! :-)
