Such a great game! Dennis, the designer, and I are both in the Boston Game Makers Guild and I got to help playtest this ad he developed it. So glad to see it in the wild!
I’ve got this one currently on my learning table. I’ve got to say, it looks like it will be an amazing game. Thanks for the fantastic run through buddy.
Hey I have a note for the Klingon subtitles: at 17:17, you mention that the second part of the Covert Arms Deal card lets you upgrade one level 1 ship. It actually lets you upgrade any ship because the "1" isn't inside the white square.
The Psionics Research is not a weaker power than Multi-colony Symposium, it depends on your production. If you both could produce 2 population for example, her power would be better, since you'd have to miss the production phase.
The (at end of turn) text in the achievement cards. Does it mean at the end of the turn of the player claiming the achievement or the end of the turn is after all player ahve played their turn for that round ? An example for this confusion. PLayer 1 is first player, just claimed control over two planets this turn that allows him to put two food production disks. At the same time triggering for him the Achievement to have an entire row of production's disk emptied. Can that player claim the achievement or do we need to wait for player's 2 turn to end ? BEcause if so, player 2 can come contest the claim on the planets and put the food production disk to player 1's mat. Which would mean the achievement would no longer be compelted (At end of turn)
sorry to say it's been a few months since i played and i've learned another 20 or so games since then, so i don't remember specifics. but if you post your question to boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/317985/beyond-sun/forums/66 you're sure to get a solid answer very quickly! :)
I don't understand why not making a game against an actual opponent! Everybody is capable to play with himself, so a video like this is useless to learn strategy because I can't understand whether a move is good or not.

note added... thanks
This looks amazing
Drinking game! Have a drink every time you hear the word "Or/Ore" in this video! :)
Imagine hearing: I need this or more ore.
Researching Advanced Genetics on the first turn tends to be overpowered. Still overall a pretty interesting game.

Of course you claim the achievement at the end of your turn, why and how would that work differentrly? You were overcomplicating things for no reason.
