I have been freezing in glass canning jars for 30 years. I save my broth for future meals. Just gotta leave about 2.5 inches in 1 quart jars. Or, sometimes if Im too cheap to dump some out, I turn the jar on its side giving the broth more room to expand while freezing. Works every time. Wide mouth jars for sure.
Thanks hun, I used to do all this with my grandma and my mom but I needed to reassure myself that I was doing it right. You are very wise for such a young lady. Thanks again 😊😊🌹
Now I know why my jar broke. Thank you so much. I loved how you went into detail. I just found your channel but, I’m going to look through your previous videos to see what information you have. Have a wonderful day
I like this woman she has respect for the planet. Not afraid to do some work to save the world... good luck with taking care of your husband. I love glass I bought a baby bottle Bush to clean my jars. I keep tomato sauce jars.
Up till now, using glass has been out of the question for me - thinking glass would crack when frozen. My experience lately was my plastic containers cracked, and leaked out when defrosting in the microwave. Now, instead of running out to buy more, I reevaluated my assumption of glass and found your video. Fantastic, thanks.
Just broke 2 milk jugs freezing raw milk 😪 I left room at the top, but not enough. And the milk was touching the bend in the bottle while it was a liquid. Do you think these tips will still work for milk jugs? Or only mason jars?
Did I miss something? No mention of freezer jars? They are quart jars designed for freezing (i.e., wide mouth with no shoulders). So, to state that there are only two choices would be incorrect. Correct?
I wouldn't know, I haven't seen broth sold in glass jars. I only have experience with Ball Jars so it would be up to you if you wanted to experiment. You just run the risk of the jars cracking.
When I take the Mason jars out of the freezer so they can thaw, they crack. I don't know why, they freeze well but when defrosting, they crack. I dont know what I'm doing wrong
Thanks for this ...I want to freeze but absolutely don’t want to create more plastic trash. Creating more plastic trash just seems to go against the whole healthy way of living with growing your own food.
No more than the chance of dropping a drinking glass on the floor. Mason jars also don't tend to shatter, they break in large pieces. Never dropped one yet 😀

Great video! Good advice, straight to the point with no fluff, good audio quality, and good visuals of the jars.

Thank you for a very clear, no fluff video. Just recently learned you can freeze in mason jars. Will definitely be using your techniques!
I like the idea of putting frozen bags in between. I never thought of that.
Very nice Anthurium plant in the background.

Hard to say as every glass bottle is different. It may help your chances but all I have experience with is mason jars so no promises.
What's the point of putting something in between the jars?

Are glass jars used to sell broth a good option for freezing broth?

I really don’t feel like pressure canning my chicken broth I’m making late at night thank u
Just get into it already
😂🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂
Can you do this with raw milk, cold straight in the jar and then to the freezer
I'm wondering the same thing?
Perhaps leave in the fridge first & then to freezer & do the same to defrost.
My dad said if you put jars in freezers it will break, so i searched this up lol
Lol haven't had one break on me yet, just be sure to follow all the tips in the video.

I saw a vid saying they have to thaw at room temperature
Try also putting in the refrigerator to thaw out slowly.
I thought that would happen to me but none of mine did
Maybe your room is too warm. Cold +hot / glass = smash

I always been scared to drop it on the floor .

@@ThisLittleFarmhouse if it makes the food last longer I can give it a try
😁
You need to shorten this type of video. Too much non-useful information makes me want to click away. Good luck with the channel!
😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I thumbs anyways but it’s better to demonstrate instead of just giving instructions
