- After 40 years in politics, Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said he feels a sense of satisfaction as he prepares to hand over the reins to his deputy Lawrence Wong. “I have done my duty, and I am very glad I chose this path of public service all those years ago,” Mr Lee said to a standing ovation from the crowd at the May Day Rally on Wednesday (May 1). Thank You Prime Minister Lee for leading Singapore with an excellent team of leaders. Where ever I travel in the world, people sing praises of You and the leaders of Singapore. They are happy to have Singaporeans as customers, business partners, tertiary students and tourists. They share their dreams of sending their children to study in Singapore. At immigration queues and counters in many countries, immigration officers have treated my family & I with minor special hospitality. Speechless and embarrased, I then truly understand the relations Singapore has with so many countries. Thank You, Sir.

Heartfelt touching moment, LHL was emotional too when he announced his retirement plans last year. It's when we put all our efforts into something and see that it has achieved the goals that the tears flowed, reflecting on the hard efforts and sacrifices it took for that to happen.

PM LHL had done a great job during the past 20 yrs as PM...many tends to compare him with his father LKY but they are both a leader in different era and faces different challenges so there's nothing to compare. Each has it merits and both have done their best during their terms as PM.
