Nothing but respect to those old bands who still keep going and doing it well. My mum passed her love for the Rolling stones on to me, we´ve been to 4 Rolling stones concerts and each time i loved every second of it.

I saw ZZ Top Aug 24 th 1973 at Music Hall with Uriah Heep four days before I went into the Navy at 17 years old. Still have the ticket stub.👍🤪🔥🤘😁❤️ Oh.and saw Leslie West at a bar he was playing at.I was getting a beer and looked over and said" How ya doing?". Can't remember the name of it, but there's a Lowes there now. It was in Elyria just off RT. 57. Saw Ted Nugent and Frank Marino there too. Was just a mile away from my house.😁
ZZ Top is the ultimate party band. I can't believe some of their first gigs were high school proms! If the parents only knew!

His last live concert was ZZTop (2019).. Their opening concerts, in Finland.

The boogie riff, and the "How how how how" part were copying John Lee Hooker - especially the 1948 song "Boogie Chillun". Billy Gibbons had admitted this to Hooker before, but when the co-writer of "Boogie Chillun" who owned the rights to the song sued ZZ Top, it was found that the original song had not been properly copyrighted when it was written, so ZZ Top didn't have to pay.

So many people think that the John Lee Hooker impression was just Billy being original. Anyway, the comment got a heart from her.

Hi Jen, the hat Billy Gibbons is wearing is a traditional hat from the Bamileke tribe in Cameroon Africa. He went to visit the tribe when he took a trip to Africa and apparently the chief liked his big Texas cowboy hat, so he traded the cowboy hat for the Bamileke hat.
The irony is that the one member without a beard, has the last name Beard lol...

Nice reaction. Haven’t listened to ZZ Top in years. After your reacts today, try Nemophila song Life. Beautiful rock ballad they played live back in august, during a virtual concert. They came back on the stage after a break to do Life as an encore. They turn their mics to all face drummer Marata Tamu, and sing to her. Tamu just came back after time off last spring, to give birth to her son. So as a new mom, she holds back emotion all song, and does cry, all while drumming. One of my favorite emotional performances in music. I’m a Bonham, Peart, Portnoy, Derossier drum fan, but Japanese women are taking over for me. Akane, Harunna, and Tamu.

He has a bit he does on stage where since Dusty hill would sing "Tush" billy would grab a cigar, and start thr guitar solo with an unlit cigar in his mouth. And someone from the stage crew would come up and ligh the cigar for him MID SOLO. If that doesn't scream "Coolest man on the god damn planet" then i don't know what does
