"Waitin for the Bus/Jesus Left Chicago" is my favorite ZZ Top.
Great call-on this one-one of my faves. You guys should check it out for sure!
"Legs" is ultimate ZZ Top.
ZZTOP BEST " LEGS "
"She's got legs......and she knows how to use them"
The Ultimate 80's
ZZ Top. Great but their first album was 1971
Check -Brown Sugar
How about
"Cheap Sunglasses"
"I'm Bad, I'm Nationwide"
And next in the car/women series of videos
Legs is bubblegum. Stick with Lagrange!
ZZ Top always had great music videos. They were made for the time of MTV when MTV played music videos. Funny you mentioned Tush Phil. Thats a ZZ Top song.
And LEGS!
Phil, did you say "tush"????
Well, believe it or not, one of ZZ Top's biggest songs is...
"Tush"
Spooky. 😂
Came here to say this!!!😂
I was waiting for them to comment on their cheap sunglasses.....
😂
"Heard it on the X" has one of the best riffs in rock music.
I was in a band that covered that tune, and it was always one of my favorites to play. And I like to think the Three Amigos would have been proud.
While you're on ZZ Top, don't miss reacting to "Blue Jean Blues." It's a classic!
We need to differentiate between 80's ZZ and 70's
Best blues song by them!
"I could tell they was mine, from the oil and the gasoline".
Dusty's gone and the world will never be the same. That was my Rotweillers name, and losing him was hard too.
One of the things I love about BJB is the subtly and restraint of the band's performance. So very uncharacteristic of much of their other songs, but SOOO Soulful and heartfelt! @@buckyc.9069
There are 2 sides to ZZ Top, the before is more bluesy the latter has an 80s pop groove. Under appreciated early on, they hit it big in the 80s with MTV videos. Early stuff is Waiting For The Bus/Jesus Just Left Chicago, Just Got Paid, Tush, La Grange, etc. Latter hits include Legs & Sharp Dressed Man!
Try "Cheap Sunglasses"
Talking of Tush… that is another tune from ZZ Top 🤩
Stages is a favourite rocker, and the ballad Rough Boy.
That was always a dream at 16 years young, to be tossed the ZZ Top keys.
...and OMG Billy´s guitarplaying is just addictive!! Spot on! Come to think of it, he might be one of my favorite guitarplayers.... Thank guys! 🙂
Phil & Sam
Dusty Hill is jamming in Heaven! RIP Dusty!
Texas Blues Rock
My favorites from ZZ....Fool For Your Stockings and Pearl Necklace 👀
ZZ Top songs were always favorites to Dance to. In the 70's , we would dance almost every night, going from club to club. In Greene County in New York's Catskill Mountains, the Bars didn't close until 4am, and often, they would just turn off the sign outside, lock the doors and continue to Party!
La Grange was 70's
There first album 1971
This and Sharp Dressed Man were there 80's crossover.
Great but should first explore the early material.
First Album - Brown Sugar(71)
Start where it all began.
It's a killer track!
ZZ Top pretty much lives on the dirty or naughty side, with hits like "Legs," "Tush," "Tube Snake Boogie," and "Sleeping Bag."
Straying from that groove, I'd go with their hits "Cheap Sunglasses" and "I Thank You."
How could you leave out "Pearl Necklace"?
@@jonathanlocke6404 So dirty, but so good.
@@jonathanlocke6404 HA - THAT'S what I was thinking, too!! 😆😆😆😆😆
If you didn't know Before forming ZZ Top Guitarist Billy Gibbons and drummer Dan Mitchell were in a garage band "Moving Sidewalks" that Billy Gibbons formed in 1966 they had two hit "99th Floor" and "Need Me" written by Billy Gibbons worth checking out.
This is part of a series, which Sharp Dressed Man was a part of. In order, the story goes:
Gimme All Your Lovin’
Sharp Dressed Man
Legs
TV Dinners
Sleeping Bag
Rough Boy
Stages
My mom took me to my first concert at 11, it was ZZ and I’ve loved them ever since.
Now that's a kool mom.
He was dreaming....but was he....These dudes are the coolest of all time for sure. They live the life they seem to. Chill, relaxed.
Love the ZZ Top rock songs like this one but I've always been partial to "I'm bad, I'm Nationwide" and more of the bluesy rock songs in the ZZ Top vault. "Waitin for the bus/Jesus just left Chicago" is a great one as well!
Legs, Sharp Dressed Man, Tush, La Grange etc is peak ZZ
First song i ever heard with them !
After that i was hooked and has been ever since !
That was 1984 and im still a fan .
Good reaction !
👍👍👍💕😎🇸🇪
Oh come on Phil, just admit it, you love the ZZ Top videos for the same reason we did when they came out, the Hot Babes and the great music.
ZZTop is just amazing. I saw them in concert several years ago and Frank Beard (the drummer) had a rig on his bass drum that spun like a tire rim which was really cool. RIP Dusty Hill.
"That lil' 'ol Blues band from Texas !" R.I.P., Dusty .......
The car belongs to guitar player Billy Gibbons and was dubbed “ Eliminator” after the album this song (and other hits) were from. It’s also featured, along with the lovely ladies, in the video for “Legs”, which you should really see. Ironically, the drummer’s, the only member without a beard, name is Frank Beard. Dusty Hill on bass (R.I.P.).
Saw them in concert 4 times. I may be old (70) but I got to see all the cool bands!!
Funny bit of info, the only band member without a beard is the drummer, but his name is Frank Beard.
The band was formed in 1969 with guitarist Billy Gibbons, bassist Dusty Hill, drummer Frank Beard. This line up was intact for 52 years with no changes until Dusty Hill passed away in 2021, RIP.
@normandpitre7831... If you didn't know Before forming ZZ Top Guitarist Billy Gibbons and drummer Dan Mitchell were in a garage band "Moving Sidewalks" that Billy Gibbons formed in 1966 they had two hit "99th Floor" and "Need Me" both were written by Billy Gibbons worth checking out. drummer Dan Mitchell was only with ZZ Top for a short time in 1969 then Frank Beard replaces Dan Mitchell in late 1969.
The car was called Eliminator it was Billy Gibbions custom built car while this car was on display at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame it was replaced by a 1948 Cadillac called CadZZilla. The Eliminator was a 1933 Ford Coupe customized by Gibbons and his team.
I used to,use this album to get pumped before skiing……they are the BEST for just flat-out fun, upbeat Texas blues rock.
As a red-blooded teen when this video came out yeppers I am definitely getting in the car 😂❤
"I need you tonight" will blow you away, of all the hot things they've ever done, this is the best for me, says a German fan (for 45 years) By the way, they have a huge fan base in Europe, but funnily enough they're in Not so well known in the USA. Just watch a few of them live and you will see that almost no one can play blues as dirty as ZZ Top..Greetings
This song was ZZ Top's first Top 40 hit of the 1980s. The song did peaked at the #40 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart during the summer of 1983. It was the first single from their 1983 album, Eliminator. This is an old-school banger indeed!!! RIP Dusty Hill
Two mistakes here. First, I Thank You from the album Deguello peaked at #34 in March 1980, making that song the first ZZ Top song to crack the Top Forty in the 1980's. Second, Gimme All Your Loving ascended to #38 after coming into the American Top Forty countdown show at #40.
Hi Phil & Sam, Great Texas trio with many good songs, RIP to Bassist Dust Hill 🙏
Back in the 90s i saw them for the first time outdoor concert for free on a Quebec s hollyday june 24th ! 🤠
Love This Song ZZ Top Are Legends So Many Great Songs Too - Legs, Tush, Sharp Dressed Man.
In my opinion ZZ Top is America's AC/DC. Straight forward no BS rock n roll.
ZZTOP Doubleback is AMAZING. it is also written for back to the future. love that franchise as well. in this video the rec 33 ford coupe is called "The Eliminator". In Doubleback the car is a 1948 Cadillac series 62 sadanette. built by Boyd Coddington at Hotrods by Boyd in Orange Ca. the 33 ford was built Dan Thelan's Buffalo Motor Cars.
I used to have one of those ZZ Top key chains. It didn't handle sitting on it in my back pocket very well.
Great Song
Wonderful Band
Part of the 3 Pack of ZZ Top Videos that dominated on MTV around the same time
(She’s Got)Legs
Sharp Dressed Man
Gimme All Your Lovin’
ZZ Top was on a Roll
Blue Jean Blues and Jesus Just Left Chicago are My favorites from ZZ Top. I think you should tickle your eardrums and give them a listen. Great reaction!
Tush, Beer Drinkers & Hell Raisers, She's A Heartbreaker, Ten Dollar Man, Its Only Love, Tube Steak Boogie, Arrested For Driving While Blind, Mexican Blackbird, Balinese, Legs.....that will get you started. Cant go wrong with these guys. R.I.P. Dusty.
Their live performance is worth seeing also.
These Tres Hombres can sure make some great music.
The Eliminator coupe! One sweet ride!😎
ZZTop had the uncanny ability to write great songs on almost any subject "Tush", "Waiting on a Bus", "Just Got Paid", "Legs", "Sleeping Bag", "Pearl Necklace" "Cheap Sunglasses" and "TV Dinners".
Fun fact guys. The beards became a signature gimmik for the band and they were at one time contractually obligated to not shave them..the drummer, whose last name IS actually Beard... is the only one in the band who doesnt ever have a beard. 😊
Love your channel guys!
ZZ Top was crazy about that car. The band was in Back to the Future 3 and they tried to negotiate that car being used as the Time Machine instead of the Delorean. Crazy lol
ZZ TOP Put out alot of music videos in the 80s . MTV were the good ol days
Billy Gibbons recently became the co-owner of the Wise River Club in Wise River Montana with a country artist named Tim Montana. Tim is also someone you’d love. So many good songs but American Thread is a great one to start with. He’s been known to thank people in the comments for reacting to his songs
Sharp dressed man is definitely my favorite of ZZ Top
The "Hot Rod" in this video is actually kind of famous. The 1933 Ford Coupe is named "Eliminator" and was built by legendary car builder Pete Chapouris for lead singer Billy Gibbons. Billy has always been a huge gearhead and a big supporter of the hot rod and custom culture. The car features tons of custom touches, including a custon 3 piece hood, lowered '34 Ford headlights, custom graphics, '39 Ford 'teardrop' tail lights, custom rear splash pan with recessed license plate, 3" chopped off the top, and set on a custom Pete & Jake's chassis. Under the hood is a healthy Chevy 350 V8 mated to a built Turbo 350 transmission transferring the power to the custom wheels through a beefed up Ford 9 inch rear axle. The final touch to top it off? The ZZ Top logo is milled into the engines valve covers. The car featured in multiple music videos with the band, and was the cover art for their aptly named 1983 album, "Eliminator", which became their best selling album. The car was so famous that Monogram even produced a model car kit of it. Billy Gibbons still owns the car, and it's occasionally on loan to car museums. But he has always been very clear that "Eliminator" is a drivers car, and it sees the road often, even making a couple cross country trips in the past with Billy at the wheel. Sorry if I geeked out lol, I'm a big gear head and a huge ZZ Top fan. Another awesome reaction, keep up the great work you two. Much love from Washington State in the old USA! 😃❤️🤘🇺🇸
6:05 - Phil did mention "Legs" and "Tush" -- well those are great songs by them... "Tush" and "Legs" should be put on y'all list by ZZ Top.
My heads in Mississippi and can’t stop rocking
I had my picture taken with that car at the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. I live about 30 miles away from it.
ZZ radio hits here we come.
Fun fact: The gas station where they filmed this is the same one that Linda Hamilton, (Sara Connor), is sitting in at the end of Terminator where the little boy takes her picture.
ZZTop was one of the best concerts I ever attended. I was there in the early 90's on their Recycler Tour. They were more impressive live than in any of their videos. Something I will always remember. I had one of those keychains and wish I still had it.
They even appear in 'Back to the Future II' where Marty goes back to the old west to save the Doc.
To ME: ZZ Top has ALWAYS been MORE than "That Lil' Ole' Band From Texas"!!! LOVE THEM!!! I've seen someone's suggested Waitin' For The Bus / Jesus Left Chicago - that's AWESOME - and, Heard It On The X is another BANGER!! Along with Just Got Paid, Blue Jean Blues, My Head's In Mississippi, Cheap Sunglasses.... These are just SOME of my FAVS by this band....off the top of my head. SO GOOD!!!
A little tidbit of info on the woman in the black skirt and red top. She is Jeana Tomasino Keough, Playboy’s Playmate of the Month for November 1980. She was in several ZZTop videos.
Samantha is prettier though.
Definitely the commercial era for ZZ Top. Some really good songs but you should check out Waitin For The Bus/Jesus Just Left Chicago, Blue Jean Blues, Cheap Sunglasses, and TV Dinners.
I bought this album the first week it was released in a music store in Fort Worth, Texas, without ever hearing a single track beforehand. The album cover looked so cool it was just irresistible, and I already was a ZZ Top fan. Got it home and played it and I instantly knew it was a classic. I still have it.
"My Heads In Mississippi", "Fool For Your Stockings", and "Tush" are great ZZ Top songs.
This song is such a banger!
Y’all should really listen to their 70’s hits. Like just got paid, Jesus left Chicago, Mexican black bird, old blue jeans.
As a wedding/party DJ in the 80s ZZTop basically put rock oriented dance music on the map. They released all of these songs(Gimme All Your Lovin', Sharp Dressed Man, Legs) as extended versions as well for night club play.😊🔥
It used to be when you stopped at a gas station a person appeared to fill your car with your selected option. Your windows would be cleaned. Your oil checked. Also your payment was taken and processed. Then you had a choice: full service or self service. You would need regular refreshment if in a desert. (Alcohol not a good idea if hot.)
Under Pressure is rocking and has awesome guitar work!
Before forming ZZ Top Guitarist Billy Gibbons and drummer Dan Mitchell were in a garage band "Moving Sidewalks" that Billy Gibbons formed in 1966 they had two hit songs "99th Floor" and "Need Me" written by Billy Gibbons worth checking out.
ZZ Top also had a cameo performance in the movie "Back to The Future 3" Classic...
First band I remember because Mom and Dad both loved them
Even when there was jukeboxes I was on tippy toes selecting this lol
TRIVIA: The girl in the red top is Jeana Keough from the Real Housewives of Orange County. Saw them a few months ago, Elwood Francis is ably filling in for the late great Dusty Hill unfortunately they don't do Tush and some of the other songs Dusty sang.
I remember the build on that "hot rod" back in the late 70's or early 80's in "Hot Rod" Magazine. The car was featured in numerous videos and album covers. Later on Billy (Lead Guitarist) built a deep purple 1948 Cadillac nicknamed "Cadzzilla."
Great video, they are hard to beat. ZZ Top has so many great songs, over the years the song 'Velcro fly' has really stuck out to me. Cheers, Rob.
"Planet of Women" is a sorely under appreciated track as well!
Cheap Sunglasses is one of my all time favorites and one of their most underrated songs imo.
WHITESNAKE 🎸- " STILL OF THE NIGHT " 1987 is another super Rocking Classic by this amazing band
They do have a song called “Tush” now that you mentioned it. It was their first big hit off of their Fandango album. Another great song off of Fandango is “Heard It On the X”.
How about Waitin for the Bus and Jesus just left Chicago!
You guys should do their song "Tush", along with "Thank You", "My Head's In Mississippi", "Jesus Just Left Chicago", "Tube Snake Boogie", "Gosta Get Paid"...so many. A lot of what I mentioned is older and will not have an official video. You can always find old concert footage, though.
During concerts, they often live animals on stage with them they had a bison. They had a longhorn cow they had a vulture along with a few others. Lol
Legs, I’m bad nationwide, cheap sunglasses, tush, so many to choose from
Nobody’s mentioned under pressure from this era . My fav is Can’t stop rockin with Dusty on vocals.
Seen ZZ TOP live dating back to the late 70's/ early 80's ! Best part of seeing ZZ TOP live is they sound exactly like what you hear on album, CD !
They are one of my favs of all time! Still listen to quite a few songs on my playlist.
The first concert I ever went to. I think it was their Tres Hombre tour. Like MetalMark said "I'm not looking for much I'm just looking for some Tush". Beer Drinkers and Hell
Raisers, Waiting for a Bus/ Jesus Left Chicago and Heard it on the X are all excellent.
Fool For Your Stockings is the ultimate ZZ Top Blues
The car is called The Eliminator as is the album this song is from.
Billy and Dusty had beards. The drummer (without a bear) was Frank Beard.
I still find it funny that the only band member without a beard is the drummer and his name is - no joke - Frank BEARD. 😃
ZZ Top had their own announcer at the start of their shows. I remember, "Ladies and Gentlemen, Senoras and Senors, it's that little ol band from Texas, ZZ Top!" I cannot remember the man's name and I can't find it by searching. He had a good voice.
And that is by no means a recent memory. It could be off.
He was working on the car in the hot heat & fell asleep, it was all a dream ✌💖☮
Here are three more BANGERS to choose from that you are sure to enjoy. "Beer Drinkers And Hell Raisers" "I Thank You" and "Tush" !!!
Imo, the best jam on the Eliminator album is; I Need You Tonight. Simply mesmerizing.
That hot rod is a 1930 something Ford Eliminator. The name of this album.
Gimme All Your Lovin - Sharp Dress Man - Legs ….Were a trilogy of videos from ZZ Top’s 1982 Eliminator album.
I would love to watch y’all go back to 70’s ZZ Top.
Chasing a dream.
The order of the ZZ Top car trilogy: Gimmie All Your Lovin', Sharp Dressed Man, and ends with Legs. The car is called The Eliminator so all the women are The Eliminator Girls. The dark haired woman from "Gimmie": Jeana was both an actress, Playboy Playmate, and in the first series of The Real Housewives of Orange County. Sadly in Sharp Dressed Man, the seductive dancing woman at the end(Galyn Gorg), The Man who was transformed in the car(Peter Tramm), and Eliminator Girl with the long blonde hair Kymberly Herrin have #RIP
ZZ Top
The First Custom license plate “ZZTOP”. 😂
