After "Legs" it only makes sense to react to "Tush".
100% AGREE!!
Have they done Sharp Dressed Man?
And what do you put on legs? “A Fool For Your Stockings”
Lol
@@madmitch3365And what do you wear to surreptitiously scan legs at the swimming pool on a sunny day? ”Cheap Sunglasses”
The little old band from Texas .
They are the coolest !
👍👍👍💕🇸🇪😎
Yes they are.
And a fun fact that actress Morgan Fairchild has been friends with them since they were all in high school. Way before they became ZZ Top.
This video was played what seemed hourly on MTV. This video made ZZ Top a mega group. They were popular before this album and video but after this they became the most popular rock band in the world. They went from large theaters to stadiums and the songs heard in everyone’s car in the summertime. Cruising and jamming to ZZTop with the top down, the wind blowing through your hair, and not a care in the world. When a band can make those memories, they become part of a culture.
Yup. This was my introduction to ZZ Top.
ZZ Top are fantastic but they have never been "the most popular rock band in the world". The World is more than just the USA. Also, they played in stadiums from 1973, so ten years before the "Eliminator" album and long before MTV turned up. The songs weren't heard in "everyone's car" either. Check your facts before you comment, don't use ridiculous exaggerations and don't pass your personal opinions forward as fact.

This is from their "Eliminator" album, which also included "Gimmie All Your Lovin" and "Sharp Dressed Man"
The ZZ ladies ain't having all that bullying going on.
Loved that part of it all.
“The Weird Beards”!! You just can’t go wrong with ZZ TOP. This was one of the very first songs I ever heard from ZZ TOPP. Had no idea who they were. But was hooked on their sound. Just like ACDC, once you hear them, you just need more! And agree with another guys statement , Sam would look BEAUTIFUL coming out of this BEAUTIFUL coup!!
"I'm Bad, I'm Nationwide" is great !
This song actually has a special place in my heart. My parents were married in 86, my Dad's nickname is Legg's (my maiden name is Leggans and my dad is 6'5) so my mom walked down the aisle to this song.
TRUST me this version is 1000x’s better than the album version! 🦵🏻🦵🏻
A lot of people disliked their sound switch with the synthesizer. 🤷🏽♂️ they rock no matter what.
I'm not sure any three member band ever produced such a powerful, energetic sound! They were/are such a unique group, RIP Dusty Hill. Thanks for the reaction!
I saw them in the late 90s touring with Lynyrd Skynyrd. I think they were taking turns closing on that tour. The concert I saw, ZZ Top played last. Skynyrd seemed to have 15 people on stage with all their extra guitarists and backup singers. ZZ Top came out, just the three of them. Sound was just as full. Nothing seemed missing or stripped down. I don't know enough about it to go into detail, but I've always figured it has to be a testament to Dusty that they could do that, providing bass and rhythm at the same time while Billy played great lead.
I guess you forgot about Rush.
Interesting fact. ZZ Top was retired. The record label discovered they still owed them 2 albums. Eliminator and After burner. Biggest selling albums ever for them
The blonde in the red top is always my favorite out of the ZZ Top girls.
Unfortunately she passed away not too long ago, cancer.
The brunette was Playmate Jeana Keough (formerly Tomasino) who was later featured on Bravo's "The Real Housewives of Orange County".
@@christophercombs3501 Always liked Tomasino. I remember enjoying her in some movies back then, liked her character as well as her looks.
Her name is Kymberly Herrin. She was playboy mag's March 1981 Playmate of the month.
She grew up about 4 miles from me, she's a doll 😉@@christophercombs3501
I will never forget the summer I spent at camp chasing this girl in the 80s. ZZ Top's Eliminator Album was blasted daily on the boom box. I was trying so hard to get that first kiss. I haven't seen that girl in over 35 years. I never knew how great those times were while I was living through it. Seems like yesterday. Life goes fast kids. Enjoy every minute of it that you can.
I truly cant wait to see you guys get into some of their older stuff, Like LaGrange, Tush, Cheap Sunglasses, and Brown Sugar. One of their newer songs that is great is I Gotsta Get Paid.
It's hard to believe it's already been 40 years since this came out. Check out more ZZ Top from the early 70s. That is when I love them the most. They are down and dirty blues back then. Brown Sugar is a good one.
As a British person, to hear "she's got hair down to her fanny" made us all spit out tea.
The spinning guitars became a trademark - one they even did in their cameo in Back to the Future Part III
Probably the biggest song ZZ Top ever did
Definitely a video that was played all the time on MTV back in the day! Very popular, just like Sharp Dressed Man, both of them! They are so great!!❤❤
Thanks guys !!❤❤
As a GenX it’s so funny to watch you guys react to all these songs that I have grown up with over the years. Some of them I can’t believe you’ve never even heard of before, but it’s kind of cool to see other’s reaction to some of these great songs.
I'm a GenX'er and most of the GenY on up stuff I haven't heard so it's no surprise to me they haven't heard older music. I couldn't name one single Taylor Swift song. I couldn't even tell you if I heard one. I'm sure maybe in walmart at some point? Since my radio station in my truck are all set on classic rock stations there is no way I would hear anything else.
I love that 33 ford coupe. Witch was named the Eliminator
You wouldn’t feel the same about this song if you weren’t watching an 80s video of it. This song is a jam if it just comes on the radio and it is pure guitar rock people don’t hear this and think hey synthesizer. This is ZZ Top guitar jam at its best.
not to mention that the car, named "eliminator" , is easily in the top 5 of most iconic cars ever.
ZZ Top - Sleeping Bag
and Rough Boy
Can't forget the full-on dance vibe of Velcro Fly. 😊
Damn I miss the 80s!!
8:51 How do you think this is light compared to the other music from them. This is pure 🎸 rock
Saw them in 1986 on their Afterburner tour. They had the fur guitars for this song and spun them around too. Still have my ZZ keychain.
Eliminator, first album I bought with my own money… 1983, I was 11. R.I.P. Dusty Hill
I first heard this song in the movie Overboard when I was a kid and I’ve loved it ever since
Nice guy for the win!!! Love it!!
A true iconic band...They never get old.
Very impressive fascinating story about your parents. The song came from the album Eliminator in 1983. The most beautiful thing about this. The rhythm pattern. Not many tunes of that era, in rock, had a driving sixteenth 🎶 at that tempo. Brilliant and so fresh. Set ZZTop so apart from everyone. R I P. Dusty Hill - the bass guitar player.
La Grange and Cheap Sunglasses are a must
Some ZZ Top tidbits ! The lead guitarist is Billy Gibbons. That is his car in the video and was featured on Jay Leno's Garage a few years ago. He also played Angela's dad, beard and all, on the TV Show Bones. Billy and Dusty Hill are the two with the long beards. Dusty is the bass guitarist and sadly passed away a couple years ago. The drummer who doesn't have a beard is Frank Beard (running joke). They are Texans and have been together for a long time! The one you should do next is Tush. Thanks!
Hi ! lol ! I also saw ZZ Top live and for free ! was an outdoor festival here in Quebec ! there was multiple girls dancing on stage ! All part of the show ! We had a great time sitting on the grass ! 😎
Songs from the Deguello album.
Thank you, Cheap Sunglasses, Nationwide.
Killer album.
I saw ZZ TOP THREE Times Great Ever Time And partyed With them One's RIP DUSTY
Need to do Tush and then TV Dinners.
ZZ Top did a great job during this time playing into the MTV vibe and the electronic sound of the early 80's without losing what made ZZ Top. Just some good Texas fun!
Y’all should do “Cheap Sunglasses” if you haven’t yet. It’s got one of my favorite lines ever from a song:
“She had a West Coast strut, as smoooth as molasses, But what really knocked me out was those cheap sunglasses!”
One of the ZZ Top Girls ("Legs", "Sharp Dressed Man", "Gimme All Your Lovin" and "Sleeping Bag") was Playmate Jeana Keough (formerly Tomasino) who was later featured on Bravo's "The Real Housewives of Orange County".
'Got me under pressure' ZZTOP.
That's the track I can listen on repeat... the top songs are great but when I jam to ELIMINATOR... GOT ME UNDER PRESSURE is the one I put the volume all the way up 🤘🏽😎shout out from DallasTx
I bought the Eliminator LP after hearing Legs and it was my first ZZ Top record. With Sharp Dressed Man I found my favourite ZZ Top track to this day, although La Grange gets close, but it wasn’t on Eliminator.
I was born in '66 and I was trained to like old Blue Grass, but this band shifted my sails -along with MTV!
Nothing like Texas rock. For a change of pace, try Rough Boy.
The beautiful women come to help the nice girl. Love this.
They made a few great videos in the early 80's. Sharp-Dressed Man, TV Dinners, etc.
Pretty sure from Eliminator without looking up. This was my introduction to ZZ Top too - the music was a great throw back to classic blues and rock coming out in the 80's, they stood out for keeping that 70's sound.
"I'm Bad I'm Nationwide"( 79)
Best album " Dueguello " 🔥
ZZ Top is one of my top three bands. (The others, Skynyrd and Pink Floyd). Their Eliminator album came out when I was in high school and brings back a lot of great memories. Many of their videos are showing the girls coming to the rescue of an underdog in that iconic coupe and the guys, Billy F. Gibbons, Frank Beard, and Dusty Hill (RIP) looking over them benevolently. To stay with the "body parts", please next do "Tush".
This is from Eliminator. Ah, the spinning fuzzy guitars....one of my favorite bits from their videos. I think I would be a little traumatized to learn my folks listened to ZZ Top if it was one of the pre-Eliminator albums because there were some definite "inuendo" songs on some of those. LOL!
This version of ZZ Top is from the early MTV days, when MTV was almost entirely music videos. ZZ was one of the groups that DOMINATED MTV. If you go to ZZ's earlier music it's heavier into the blues. Try; Waitin For The Bus / Jesus Just Left Chicago.
Legs was from the Eliminator album released in 1983.
ZZ top has great songs, but I also loved their videos too.
Yes I knew the album, one of my favorite from it is Under Pressure. So now 4 songs in you're just putting a mark in the surface, long long way to go here
Eliminator was the first time that the band used a drum machine in the recording of the album, simply to help with the timing. Billy Gibbons is a perfectionist and found that this was the best way to achieve the result he wanted
This song Legs is from ZZ Top's album Eliminator.
Great song & video. Played a lot in dance bars. Those guitars had a secret they used to make the cool sound. Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits wanted to know how they did it. They would not tell him. So he started experimenting with all kinds of different sounds. What he came up with was the different sounding guitar you hear in their song and video for Money for Nothing. Another cool song and video.
The three Eliminator actresses-Jeana Tomasino, Kymberly Herrin and Danièle Arnaud-were paid more than $2,000 each (approximately $5,000 in 2020 dollars), a higher fee than usual, according to Herrin. Tomasino had been a Playboy Playmate in 1980; so was Herrin in 1981.
I used to have one of those keychains. This video is the best video ever.
Yes, we dressed like this on occasion!! LOL #80'srocked
Billy Gibbons has often noted his love of Depeche Mode and early British SynthPop which led to a lot of synth work on the Eliminator album.
The 12" version of Legs with the extended intro is the only version worth listening to.
I'm telling you guys, you HAVE to do TV Dinners - so different and so fun, Seems like everybody forgets this one.
As to the "synthesized bass line, according to Wikipedia, "Guitarist Gibbons was inspired by British electronic acts such as Depeche Mode and Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark to explore electronic music technology."
That car known as "Eliminator" a 1934 3 window Ford coupe was stolen and as far as I know never recovered, then ZZTop came out with the Afterburner album.
As a suggestion give the Sleeping bag video by them a listen
Good old ZZ Top never fails.
I can always remember the Drummer's name, Frank Beard.
You really need to check out "2000 blues" off their "Recycler" album. A masterpiece.
ZZ Top is badass
a changing world so they changed their style to carry on
Dayo, do you know how Christmas songs can make you fail FAA IL you failed a seizure once you are. Somebody signing a Christmas song or yeah, here. Question mark I pay for the hospital? I pay out the failin again. When I hear say how you run te Ara country music. Or all right
The Muses that show up in the Eliminator (1933 Ford)-- Are the wives of the band members. The Ford belongs to Billy Gibbons.
Beer drinkers and hell raisers is a great song from their first album la grane
I'm from Georgia and I may be an old guy now but in 1983 I was working on the Pan Am building in New York and was able to see ZZ TOP in concert at Madison Square Garden. What a night it was and they even played those cool guitars from this video!
They are Texas blues purists. The music sounds familiar because most of their music is a derivative of the guitar blues shuffle in C. When the three members first met, they jammed. For several days. A jam band like ZZ Top or say The Allman Brothers have to be superb musicianship. 🤘✌️🎸
This came out during the center-cut wheelhouse of MTV, the visual presentation was key. This song was played every couple of hours for a long time. 3 band members, two have beards, one whose last name is Beard. Saw them 3 times, amazing in concert.
Great reaction! Yep, i remember the good old MTV days. Rock Music matched with a video and not necessarily any connection between the two.
Just as the girl in the video, ZZ Top got a makeover for the 198o's. This song buzzed through the summer of 1984 again and again during on MTV. Their earlier sound from the 7o's was in the rear view mirror of the '34 Ford by this point.
The previous commentor is correct. TUSH must be the next reaction.
From the 8o's you have PIN CUSHION and VELCRO FLY.
From the 7o's there's PEARL NECKLACE and JESUS JUST LEFT CHICAGO.
I always got a kick that the drummer , the one without the beard was named was named Frank Beard.
When this group first appeared on my radio, I thought it was Zed Zed Top.😅
Usually I like to watch reaction videos to see people's reactions when they don't know a video. However, I look forward to hearing you guys know a song before it starts just so you won't stop the song 10 seconds in to let your viewers know that you know the song. It's like someone in the passenger seat of your car reaching over and turning your radio off while you're enjoying it.
ZZ what an awesome group. Saw them last summer. Glad my youth included ZZ top.
RIP Dusty Hill.🥁☮☘
Glad to see you didn't skip Legs Day!
Saw them once in concert, worth it!!!
You can hear 2 guitars, I'm not versed in this, but the lead guitarist sets the rhythm than hits a foot pedal so he can do what he does with his lead guitar. You can clearly hear the rhythm guitar in the background. So 3 guys can make all that noise.
late 60's, 70's 80's If you grew up in north America during that time there was always ZZ Top in any mixed tape (play list for all you young people) you created !
They were the band to listen to!
Jeana Tomasino Playboy Playmate looking good! She looked better in the magazine but still looking good here.
I had forgotten that there were two different versions of this song. Apparently they recorded one just for the video. I think I like the original album cut better.
ZZ Top are the best! Love this song! Love your reactions! ♥
They been together since high-school I've seen them early days no beards at the time
ZZ Top are cool. They’re even in the third Back To The Future movie. frank Beard is the one member that doesn’t sport a beard-funny. Check out the songs “Francine” and “I Thank You”.
SAM, I could see you getting out of the ZZ TOP hot rod😅
Hell yeah, lol
the spinning guitars takes me back to the mid 80 watching Mtv
Please do some of their 70's tunes. La Grange - Waiting fot the Bus/Jesus Just Left Chicago (must be played together) - Tush - just to name a few.
🤠❤️🙏🏼🇺🇸🎸Right on guys love your channel been watching you guys since you started, I have seen ZZ Top 3 times live, been to many concerts in the 60’s & 70’s Here in Denver Colorado🎸🔥 over 200 Concerts & back in the day it would be 3 bands @ one concer the Doors , LED Zepplin, Enjoyed the company of Carlos Santana in Denver @ a American Indian Movement Rally, also had a drink with Bob Dylan @ Ebbetts Field downtown Denver Concert hall/ Bar long live good music many blessings from Northern Colorado keep the great channel going🔥👍🏽🎸🙏🏼❤️🇺🇸🤠
I used to watch a TV show called Bones and Billy Gibbons made several cameo appearances as the father of one of the main characters...he was pretty hysterical and did a fabulous job...❤
I saw them live in the 70's and was blown away at how good they were!
Love this band. That's Billy's car, although it is now housed at the Cleveland Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
ZZ Topp liked to do songs about the lower half of the female anatomy. "Legs", "Tush", and "A Fool for your Stockings" were three of their greatest songs.
Gotta do Can’t Stop Rockin .. it’s a gem 😬
