LaGrange is a small town in Texas, the "shack out side LaGrange" was the infamous "chicken ranch". Was a very well know bordello. Was called "chicken ranch" cause back in the depression era, the madam would trade "favors" for chickens. Each year the Texas Longhorns and Texas Aggies would play a football game, the winning teams seniors were treated to a night at the chicken ranch by the losing teams alumni. This went on for YEARS, this was till Marvin Zindler of Eyewitness News from Houston did an expose on the chicken ranch and the public outcry from the big cities made them shut it down. I've seen ZZ Top I think 19 times. RIP The Dust
The hat has a wicked cool history, as I understand it (I am NOT an authority or expert on this) it is hand made by a certain tribe and only worn by tribal chiefs and Billy Gibbons.

I believe it was a gift exchange with an African chieftain. He asked Billy for his cowboy hat and the chief gave him this in return.
