They all shine, but I can't take my eyes off Maurice. He's absolutely nailing these high parts. It's gotta be one of their best live performances of this song.
Back to this video again. This is one of the very best LIVE performances I have ever seen, for ANY song! It surpassed, (in my opinion), the original studio recording and showcases the sheer talent these three guys had. What happened to this kind of music?
The Bee Gees simply had the cleanest vocals in rockdom. Every word sung with exquisite clarity. Some pretty damn good tunes. The Bee Gees were unique and drew you in whatever genre was your favorite.
Wow, just wow! Still one of the best performances ever on Midnight Special, they just just don't make them like the Bee Gees anymore, takes my breath away. Especially love Robin in this one!
Three great lads who produced great music for our pleasure. Nothing in there lyrics about killing , shooting, stabbing or drugs just good old great music. Thank you Bee Gees Barry, Robin, Andy.
This is my all time favourite song. They just expressed their feelings through the killer lyrics. “singing them love songs, singing them straight to the heart songs, singing them sweet sounds”. BeeGees dedicated to all of audiences by their hearts. ❤❤
Incredible band. The Bee Gees were extremely versatile. They could do it all. Psychedelic Pop, Rock, AM Pop, Power Pop, Funk and Disco. The many facets of The Bee Gees!
This particular performance is one of their very best - ever!! All 3 of them were hitting perfectly. What a great ride we've had for 60+ years. Thank you for keeping them alive for us all.
Love the song ‘Nights on Broadway’ the Gibb brothers were fantastically talented, they sure wrote romantic lyric’s, just love Mo’s upper harmonies when he lets it out, Go~Mo~Go! @3:40
Maurice used to be the one to sing falsetto in the group’s harmonies. Maurice usually either sang the high part or the lowest part in most of their early stuff.
@@danhermon4922 Barry has done a falsetto before, just never a falsetto lead. He did it on the songs “Melody Fair” and “Dogs.” “Night on Broadway” was the first song where his falsetto was used as a lead.
I think Maurice had to step up (and he did so magnificently) for the live performance. Barry can’t perform both parts (as he does on the recorded version).
Sir Barry has admitted in recent interviews that all of them had different voices, but they harmonized extremely well together, & he said out of the three of them it was Sir Maurice that had the widest range.
2023 and these guys STILL evoke every emotion with their words, their sound, and pure unfiltered talent. Sexy guys every one of them. My heart literally aches thinking the group is gone. Love them forever!
I wasn't expecting this wonderful tune this morning. I'll just have to be a little late signing into work. IMHO it is one of the best Bee Gees songs ever, and that's saying something, because there are so many favorites. Barry's powerful gorgeous voice starting this out on an upbeat rather than the expected downbeat gives "Here We Are" even more emphasis. Robin's voice is clear as a bell and they blend perfectly. What about wonderful Mo? Barry couldn't do the falsetto ad libs while also singing lead. So you get to hear Mo perform it flawlessly. He most often did high harmony, but had a huge vocal range and could do down to low baritone. Wow, this woke me right up this morning. This is an incredibly important song to me. Thank you to The Midnight Special guys for this!
I was born in 1971 and I can remember staying up Late to watch the midnight special while my parents were partying with their friends so much good music and such fun 🤩
Gotta love the fact they were listening. Unlike today, where everybody has out their phone and is not enjoying the music. These really are the good old days
A audiência ficou calada e não acreditava de tanta perfeição que vinha daquele palco. Nessa apresentação os Bee Gees mostraram sua potência, precisão, melodia, harmonia, arranjos e uma mudança radical no estilo. Perfeitos.❤
THANK YOU MIDNIGHT SPECIAL! I have NO CLUE who the drummer is, but they are absolutely killing it. In the good way. Awesome drummer. The whole band and the Brothers Gibb are just ON, but that drummer. Damn.
Yes!! I LOVE Barry’s falsetto - but I wish he had continued to use his chest voice more after the success with the falsetto. That’s one of the reasons I love this song so much -I love hearing him start out with his deep resonant voice and then go into his higher register. ❤
Barry Gibb man, coolest guy on the planet, my fave Bee Gees song, but Bazz is magnificent on this, groovin' his ass off, brilliant man, the look on his face after the line, "Here we are", priceless, nobody rocks a pair of denims and trainers like Bazz, what a guy, love him.
I love the little smile on Barry’s face after he sings the line… “Here we are…” He knows he totally nailed it. 😁 This song, and performance have aged like fine wine.
Il se trompe. Ce n'est pas lui qui a bien réussi et qui me manquent beaucoup? Ce sont Maurice et Robin. Dommage que les meilleurs du groupe soient partis trop .tôt.
Incredible performance and such unique funky tune… and a rare one where you really hear Maurice, and he knocked it out of the park… especially love that oooooh part.
Mo doesnt get enough credit. Robin dances like Elaine on Seinfeld 😂 and i love this Barry, more than his falsetto. My greatest regret was never seeing them live. Love them
One of the best bands ever of all time. A unique blend of sounds when disco was the craze, they had the talent to excel beyond the masses to another level in the 70's !
They also excelled in the 60's, my favorite era of the band, (when they were mobbed like the Beatles) and in the 80's, '90's and 2000 but were boycotted for being too popular. People who only know their 70's work are missing out on a lot of terrific music.
Shame that my grown sons will never know the feeling of hearing this song at 18 years old, walking down the street in a safe downtown Chicago at midnight with it coming from every storefront. Sublime.

Dennis Byron is, as would expected of any and all musicians associated with the Bee Gees, a brilliant drummer. Here, he's playing note-for-note what he plays in the studio. The galloping beat in this song is not just technically challenging, but to capture what the beat is supposed to sound like, requires tremendous feel. Dennis has it, in spades.
I grew up with this, but was a hard rocker back then (still am). But, I appreciate it more now. Simply wonderful and talented. Thanks again Burt, You are making lots of people very happy. But, especially us boomers.
True.. I mean, I watched a film version of an modern artist's concert the other day..I noticed that the voice was almost the same as the recorded one and I thought she must be that good cause there was never an out of tune moment...but then I watched a live clip of the concert on youtube and there I knew it was a lot different. She wasn't bad live but I dont understand why they had to pitch correct the film version, I mean, isn't the live version more authentic and raw?
What else can I say that everyone else hasn't already said about this amazing performance from these three extraordinary men? Well, I can only think of one thing and that is to personally thank The Midnight Special from the bottom of my heart for giving us such a wonderful stroll down memory lane with each and every video they release of our precious guys as well as all the other videos they have released of the many other artists featured during the entire run of "The Midnight Special". I'm having a blast every Friday evening participating in the live stream as they release a new episode in its entirety. If you haven't checked out the Friday live stream please do. 🥰🥰🥰
Love this! One of their best performances. Shows just how versatile they each were and how each brother’s talent combined to make that special “Bee Gees” sound. Mo really stepped in on the high end on this one while Barry belted it out and Robin nailed that middle harmony! Wow! Those brothers knocked it out of the park each and every time! We don’t get performers like this much today. Thanks TMS team! You continue to being a smile to my face and keep my feet dancing! 🥰
For three guys and a band that could fit in the size of a two car garage, they have such a powerful sound. I bet it would sound just as good in that garage as it does on stage! That, is what performing live is all about. By the way, that would’ve been the ultimate block party.
This video has 72k views and I’m responsible for 70k! Awesome live performance! Barry and Robin seem to be competing but Maurice comes in with the beautiful falsetto hammer at the end! You don’t hear music like this any more!

No less than TEN different keyboards and two keyboardists for this performance!
Barry sings with authority. Robin sings with heart and soul. Mo sings with talent from heaven.
❤ Robin & his dance moves
So funny, right? He and his bros r truly missed

Maurice- the secret weapon with those bass grooves.

Maurice on high harmonies again. Fabulous man.
No backtrack, no autotuned vocals, just talent.
