I NOTICE THERE IS ALOT OF MIDNIGHT SPECIALS WERE IN 1973 WHEN I WAS ONLY TEN YEARS OLD NOW I"AM 61 IN 2024 WOW THAT WAS NOT VERY LONG AGO I REMEMBER 1973
They are hilarious with their playful fidgeting and gesturings. O My Lands! (I just got to the “Maurice & His Dummy, Donny.” 😆) (I was just trying to explain to someone that thought Robin was so serious that he wasn’t; just professionally formal when he felt the situation suited it.)
The intro with Maurice and his dummy, Donny gets me every time! How interesting. I personally always find Robin to be the most amusing. There are many videos of him I can think of that prove how funny he truly is.
@@CestlaVieAuRevoir I would truly appreciate seeing clips of him being humorous/amusing. If you don’t mind my asking, did you know him? Or are you an archival fan? When I was three, How Can You Mend A Broken Heart was a hit. Whenever that or Honey (Bobby Goldboro) played, I would stop whatever I was doing and sit next to the radio, and just listen. They were my first favorite songs. Haha: Age of Aquarious and Spinning Wheel would come on as well; and my three-year-old mind got a sense of discordance from the former, and derangement from the latter. But my spirit picked up on the softness of the other two songs. My whole life I have been keenly attuned to a wish for relationships to heal.) When I heard Run To Me, I was eleven. Fell in love with that Voice (as did a reasonable portion of a few generations). Then I saw the brothers in an interview fraught with joviality. I think Maurice said they liked to drive to the intersection and watch the street lights change colors. Robin contributed that he only eats uninhabited oranges. It is both poignant and delightful to see this video collection of clips. The brotherly comraderie can get so silly at times, it is great fun to watch. I pray for Barry. Thank you for all of the great compilations you have of the Gibbs. It is priceless to remember them.
@@foreverealm I wish I knew him personally, but I'm just a superfan. I absolutely love How Can You Mend A Broken Heart and Run To Me, as I do all the other songs the Gibbs created. Their second UK no.1, I've Gotta Get A Message To You was the song that changed my life. I remember immediately falling in love with Robin when I started listening to their 60's and early 70's material, Holiday, Massachusetts and I Started A Joke, in particular. Thank you so much for watching! I'll look into gathering some clips of Robin's funniest moments.
@@CestlaVieAuRevoir Thanks for responding, and all you have shared. Those late 60’s early 70’s are my favorites as well. Vinyl Albums with the artwork on the jackets and the lyrics on the sleeves. I used to lie on my tummy on our hallway floor, close enough to the speakers I could feel the sound. (I was so lucky to have parents that put up with me listening to BeeGees for 2 years straight. Well, thanks again for sharing a parallel Memory Lane in which Barry, Robin, and Maurice (o yes, and Andy as well) embued our souls with songs of the heart we shall never forget.
Aww thank you so much for uploading this, it's just delightful! 😃🥰 Robin is my definite favourite and it made my day to see his unique personality in action here as well as interviews and of course his magical voice! ❤❤ He is such a dear 💘💋
Thank you so much for your comment! Robin is my favourite for certain as well! His glorious voice, beautiful looks, charming personality and generous heart. I just love everything about him!

I love Barry's amazing good looks, sexy clothes, sweet smile and of course those amazing arms ❤ Along with his amazing personality. He is the definition of the most perfect man in the world
This is the time where Robin blossomed in every way, became confident of his sexiness and learned how to exploit it - he dwarfs his handsome brothers in the looks department
I think he was the most handsome in "75 he looked like he was working out.Looked great with a beard as well.To me he was absolutely handsome in an unconventional way and ohhh sooooo charming!
Robin was handsome but to me Barry was the most handsome one. Robin was so funny though I’m really enjoying watching it. Robin was adorable. Maurice was handsome too.
Gotta respect the Midnight Special for getting the Bee Gees to appear on their show... a lot! Especially in 1973, they were really not doing so well in the US or the UK. Barry said that they released two albums that were dismal during this period of their career. It was wholesome to see them return on the show two years later after the release of Main Course in 1975. They had found their R&B funky sound and the rest is history!
They hosted four episodes and made a guest appearance on another episode in 1973, which is fantastic. They performed on The Midnight Special again later in the decade, as well as Andy Gibb. It's a shame that "Life In A Tin Can" and "Mr. Natural" didn't get as much recognition as deserved. At least, they experimented with a new sound for "Main Course" and so forth. They believed in change and they knew it was the way to become successful over and over again. Having to constantly improve is basically the story of their long-running career. I just love everything about the Brothers Gibb!
The Bee Gees were fabulous, their music is superb and will live on forever. As this show’s presenters Im pretty sure they based their routine on “Morecambe and Wise” (Brits of a certain vintage will know who I’m talking about.) They were raised in northern England so they had the right accent for it 👍
They had such a British sense of humor that doesn't always translate well to American audiences. Even though they had been around for 6 years at the time, they were still very young and silly.
This might sound weird but, I think Robin was absolutely gorgeous when he smoked. Like this comment if you also think him smoking was beautiful ❤ (I do not support smoking btw)
