We all owe Burt Sugarman a debt of gratitude for having the foresight to preserve these treasures in the manner he did (converting the original master tapes to 1 inch then finally to digital). Much of what made that era so special has been lost to time, but through his careful stewardship we will have these incredible performances in perpetuity. Such a gift!! Thank you sir.
And some of the ' Top of The Pops' were saved, don't know who did that, but thanks to them as well. BBC had a habit of taping over old shows and we're lucky some were saved. Same with the Monty Python episodes.

The harmony gives me the same goosebumps every time I hear it. This is so clear you can hear separate mics. Incredible Mo is singing low harmony when the chorus starts and switches to high as it concludes. Barry on lead, Barry and Robin together are spectacular.

It's great to be reminded of the ridiculous talent of the Bee Gees.
I agree, it's literally bonkers how many truly class songs these guys penned. They definitely sit at the Top Table of Musical Royalty along with just a handful of equally talented musicians.
I just love how Barry sings the beginning and Robin comes in for the chorus. Then I could hear Mo. The BGs are awesome.
I remember being a young teen, watching this late one night, and seeing Barry for the first time… “WHO is THIS?!?” OMG, it was the beginning of a 50 year love affair with The Bee Gees (and Barry).

I'm so thrilled to hear this one. You can clearly hear Mo harmonizing with Robin.
It's amazing that the Bee Gees were on the show 5 times in 1973 when their career was pretty much in the doldrums at that time. The Midnight Special may have been responsible for keeping them going.
Yes a relative doldrums but they kept charting straight through from their original era to the disco years. Also wrote many hit songs for others.

The music industry and record companies wanted another kind of music. Noisier, simpler chords, fewer orchestras (higher cost). But the great songwriters and singers knew how to reinvent themselves and the change took them to the top of the Galaxy.

Barry’s so gorgeous! Gorgeous, sparkly eyes, perfect profile, chiseled cheekbones, perfect nose, strong chin, perfect mouth, sunkissed skin, a glorious head of hair. He always has to do a couple hair flips, too. Tall, built, fills out his sexy outfit nicely. And he has a sweet, clear, powerful instrument in that throat.
I also really like Maurice’s jewel-colored outfit.
Alll their songs literally , saved my life.
Their last hit before their music became disco which they may have invented.

Lol 😂 my wife was a hard core country music fan Until we watched the midnight special and saw the BGS LOL 😅and she saw Barry Gib and she became a BGS fan right then lol 😂 I almost or should I say got a little jealous or should I be honest and say I got jealous and pissed or should I say I still love the BGS and don't know how she feels because she is married to someone else lol 😂 don't know about her but the BGS are still super stars ⭐ to me. 😊

These clips are great and the picture and sound are terrific... my wish is to have entire intact shows instead of broken up into clips ... The Bee Gees are so great, this was at a time just before the change to their 70's dominance

I had listen to this song for many years in a CD player and never got to see them performing it live. I'm blown away by Maurice Gibb's vocals mixing high and low voices in just one chorus. A chorus that always gave me chills on the radio, gives me chills now seeing them live.
You could hear Maurice's low harmonies here so clearly. Lovely.

So great and beautiful. Here, such a clean sound with a wonderful singin', where also Maurice shines. His ability in singin' both lower and higher harmony-parts is significant.

Bee Gees before Disco, even though they never intended to create a genre that changed the world.
Not sure if they created the genre called disco.
Moving to Miami changed their style that I think improved what is called 'disco'.
Disco was basically crap dance music, however some artists started to write some very good songs that fitted in the disco genre.

Yes! It shows that early on, Maurice sang lead an octave lower with Robin, then split off to high harmony on the “Now and then…” I noticed it on the first version when Maurice was playing the piano, but this version really shows it and you can hear him better. What talent!❤️🎶
