This is genuinely a perfect video on a car for me. Full of detailed engineering and mechanical information, a great driving section and all really well put together in editing. No revbashing or unnecessary shouting and screaming, no silly effects or manufactured drama, just proper enthusiasts having an in-depth chat about an incredible car. Keep up the great work!
Ah man! This is exactly what I am trying to create with this series so I am stoked that is how it has come across! Appreciate you taking the time to watch it!
I agree! My brother swapped a B16 into his base model 2000 Civic coupe. I drove it and WOW!!! What a rush! I was shifting around 4500-5000ish. He said to let it rip up to 8000 at every gear. The engine went through each gear effortlessly. I wouldn’t feel confident doing that to it’s competitors, if any, at that time.
Absolutely stunning! Don’t think there’s enough credit on here to the owner. Incredible attention to detail, nice to see the some passion for old Hondas 👌🏽
As a 44 year old, I can't tell you how badly I miss my EK...... I had it way back in college and couldn't wait to "upgrade" and now I know so much better. /sigh
Im with you. I'm 40. I miss my white 93 prelude. I missed it so much I went out and bought a 2024 Type R..... Does a pretty good job of scratching that itch and it can do family duties. Wife still isn't happy about it though
Lovely to see how jealous people are in the comments 😂 'How much oil does it burn?' 'The panel gaps are distracting' 'Shame about the B16a' 'Whats that rattling noise at 31:40' Come on guys just accept this is the cleanest EK9 build in the country and stop trying to slander it
Agreed. What a beauty, and the owner really seems to love it. While I love the K series as an engine, for me it's like seeing an LS V8 under the hood of an American muscle car. It's "technically" a better engine, but it just doesn't look right IMO, but race car stuff, yeah it works.
I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a video like this where I wouldn’t change a single thing, but this is one. Not only that but the owner did things I wouldn’t have thought of that I love. Absolute perfection! And that vtec crossover!!!
Damn, I love ITB setups. The sound is so engaging. It really does compliment and have that B series pure roar. Which is why I always hated when people would destroy a B series setup with a loud and raspy cat back exhaust system.
still have my 94 Integra GSR with the stock dual-runner IM and stock exhaust. Even with that, the sound at the top of 2nd and 3rd gear VTEC with short runners open, sounds badass.
My dream car. Short story, I wanted an EK9 when I was on my early teens but obviously they were not legal in the states back then. I waited a few years and contacted some importers and landed on a place in Florida. While not technically legal the way he was supposed to bring it in was. Got a loan for $15k and wired him the full amount. Months go by, little communication, some pictures were sent etc. Was told a 8 months in that it was destroyed in a hurricane that hit Florida. Was able to recoup $10k of it but ended up not seeing the other $5k. Now I'm an old man with a good paying job and can't afford to import one or buy new because of how expensive they are now. Sad
@OllyRoss it was a stressful situation for sure. I'm retiring in a few years, and if I have some money left after buying a house I will look into that.
I love the build, everything fits so well together Only thing I would cange is the rear bumper but that's only personal preference and I have to admit that I still love it
Thanks! It has been an idea for a while so I’m glad that it has been received with such positivity. I have a couple of cars in mind for this series but always open to suggestions of cars that are at this sort of level
Great vid, a lot of info right there plus the car is beautiful. That engine bay is so clean that it’s sick, I’m pretty sure I am not the only one that would love to see and hear it do some pulls.
Thanks man! Really appreciate that! Been something I’ve wanted to do for a few years. I even mentioned it to Andy a few times too! So glad I finally got it done
I will always have a soft spot for this gen of civic, hatch or coupe. Especially with a tuned B series. It's a beautiful build with the K, ngl. I just like the B series.
Recently saw this car at a show in milton keynes...even more impressive in person....and the vtec crossover on them...ITBs im lucky enough to not daily my ep3 and this may be the inspration i needed to go ITB
Not a car person myself! ...but I'd watch the Olly Ross Full Unabridged Reading of the Yellow Pages if it existed 😅 Keep being a beautiful car man, Man xxx
Overall beautiful car!! But I’m just wondering if that’s a real Magen lip? Cause I owned a Mugen lip on my hatch and the vent holes were not cut out, and I noticed this one had its vents cut out.
I shot this on a Panasonic GH5 with a Canon 17-40mm lens. The rolling shots where using that camera with a DJI Ronin S gimbal and the audio is recorded using the DJI mics

Anyone who hears VTEC for their first time becomes instantly hooked and appreciates Japanese engineering. Bravo 👏

Same I know exactly how you feel😢
Man, I know that exact feeling. We even couldn't care less about our girlfriend(s) if the car got "sick". Ah, memories
Im with you. I'm 40. I miss my white 93 prelude. I missed it so much I went out and bought a 2024 Type R..... Does a pretty good job of scratching that itch and it can do family duties. Wife still isn't happy about it though
As a 44 year old I will NEVER sell my midori k24 turbo ek
The dedication to keep fender liners and close the gap in the fenders is SICK
Yeah, that is absolutely crazy! Such attention to detail
Lovely to see how jealous people are in the comments 😂
'How much oil does it burn?'
'The panel gaps are distracting'
'Shame about the B16a'
'Whats that rattling noise at 31:40'
Come on guys just accept this is the cleanest EK9 build in the country and stop trying to slander it

Couldn’t agree more man! Always so much hate. Just enjoy it for what it is!

Couldn't agree more! It is a masterpiece!
EK's or EG's with k20 inside are just ❤❤❤❤
If was a ej9/ek4 yeah but strip out that legendary b16b that's a dam shame
F20b !!
For sure!!
Yeah but only if you choose the right oil pan, ask me how I know 😬😮🤬.
@@TheBb6preludeNot that popular tbh
K20 ITB and EK is just a perfect matchup
A match made in heaven!
White honda with CE28 is a match made in car heaven.
Couldn’t agree more!
Hes gone above and beyond with that car amazing
He really has! So sick!
The EK is one of if not THE best body style Honda ever made. ❤
ITB'S!!! The best invention after the wheel.
That Engine bay is amazing. It looks immaculate. Also a really nice guy. Enjoying this series so far :)
Pretty much art! Haha! Thanks man!
Incredible video man! I’ve seen Andy’s Civic many times at the shows and even drove to Mimms once with him. Great car, top bloke.
I have even more respect for the car now that I know all these cool details too! So rad!
Awesome build and even better it's a driver! Andy's built a primo Honda!
It’s the ultimate build really. Looks so good on the road too!
This is inspiration to start modding my dc5
Absolutely! Got to be done!
that guy know what he wants for his car AMazing!!
He really does! So rad to talk it through with him!
HondR have done an amazing job with this very special car. I've never come across any EK9 as impressive as this one.
They really have! Such an impressive build!
Damn, I love ITB setups. The sound is so engaging. It really does compliment and have that B series pure roar. Which is why I always hated when people would destroy a B series setup with a loud and raspy cat back exhaust system.
They are incredible! Pure engine joy!
Na B series does drive better with a good exhaust. They need to breath but has to he a good exhaust with a good muffler.
still have my 94 Integra GSR with the stock dual-runner IM and stock exhaust. Even with that, the sound at the top of 2nd and 3rd gear VTEC with short runners open, sounds badass.
the induction noise with the vtec crossover sounds so good!
I definitely wasn’t expecting it to be THAT good!
What an incredible sound when going through the gears, that low down deep rattle flutter is awesome tho. Best ek9 in uk by a mile
Couldn’t agree more!
My dream car. Short story, I wanted an EK9 when I was on my early teens but obviously they were not legal in the states back then. Damn! That is a wild story! Importing one from the UK could be an option as they might be cheaper that straight from Japan 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
@OllyRoss it was a stressful situation for sure. I'm retiring in a few years, and if I have some money left after buying a house I will look into that.
I love the build, everything fits so well together
Only thing I would cange is the rear bumper but that's only personal preference and I have to admit that I still love it
It is sick isn’t it!
Fair enough, each to their own. I love it, it’s so rad that it is functional too!
This content is the way forward! Absolute belter of a first episode. Definitely following along!
Thanks! It has been an idea for a while so I’m glad that it has been received with such positivity.
I have a couple of cars in mind for this series but always open to suggestions of cars that are at this sort of level
Great looking car, awesome work on it, Ty for sharing ...
wow that car is beautiful and the owner is a legend 🙌
It really is and he absolutely is! 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
That's perfection!!
It really is!
Great vid, a lot of info right there plus the car is beautiful. That engine bay is so clean that it’s sick, I’m pretty sure I am not the only one that would love to see and hear it do some pulls.
Great video. And 100% best Ek9 in the uk.
Appreciate it man! I would have to agree
Very clean Build ❤
It really is! 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻
Someone that knows what’s what. Not just reiterating what big Dave his “tuner” told him
For sure! So much thought has gone into this build!
What a great car mate , first time I’ve heard it go!! Love it mate .
Thanks man! Me too to be fair! Sounds so good!
Awe man , nothing rice about that. Absolutely stunning.. great build. Your channel is going to blow up. Great content!!!
It is so sick isn’t it!?
Oh, thanks man! I hope that is the case! Haha
Cracking video this mate!
Thanks man! Really appreciate that! Been something I’ve wanted to do for a few years. I even mentioned it to Andy a few times too! So glad I finally got it done
This videos just cost me a fortune! Now I’ve got to add ITBs to my K20 build 😂
Hahahahaha! I mean… it would be worth it! 😂😂😂
Amazing build!
Amazing isn’t it!?
Amazing video with so much detail 🔥❤️.
Thanks man! That was what I wanted to create! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Screamin! ❤
For sure! Such a great sound!
Legendary Car and A Legendary Owner. Awesome video. 👌👌👌
Absolutely! Appreciate it man!
Quality build 🔥masterpiece
Old but Gold!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For sure! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I will always have a soft spot for this gen of civic, hatch or coupe. Especially with a tuned B series. It's a beautiful build with the K, ngl. I just like the B series.
Soo good ….I know a trip to the Nurb and hand Micha the keys….Now your talking !!!
That would be a wild one!
Awesome build with some delicious parts😍 that engine bay & crossover sound too🤤
Pretty much summed up the reason for making this video! Haha
Defilitly one of the best videos you’ve done so far 👍 👍 👍
Thanks! Appreciate it!
Great video mate and what an incredible build!
Thanks man! Pretty insane isn’t it!
That’s one helluva nice build bud. Video went by way too quick. And definitely nice to see you driving and enjoying it!!! By far the best part!
Such a sick and all around stunning car 🔥
100%
Yes! Beautiful car!
Absolutely!
Vtec heaven....that crossover is reminds me of a b series
Absolutely! Definitely not what I was expecting
I mean Electric cars will NEVER reach this level of joy! Like never ever! It’s like a car without a soul compared to this nice Honda! 🤤
I agree! This is why I can’t think of getting an electric car!
Stunning 🤩
100% agree!
Recently saw this car at a show in milton keynes...even more impressive in person....and the vtec crossover on them...ITBs im lucky enough to not daily my ep3 and this may be the inspration i needed to go ITB
I would have to agree! Absolutely insane in person! Looks like you have found your set up then!
Awesome video and an amazing EK9 .. 👊
Thanks! Appreciate it! It is incredible isn’t it!
my favorite car is the Honda Integra DC5
They are great cars
That mufucka sounds like a mixture between a 4cyl, 8, and 10, that is cool af on so many levels bro and it still has that iconic Vtec raspy scream
It’s crazy isn’t it!? Such a unique sound!
That wire tuck is insane!
Absolutely wild isn't it!
Awesome, clean and simple build. May I know what interface is installed on the headunit to get the gauges on the screen ?
It is by Zada-Tech
An amazing build mate ❤
It really is! Thanks for watching!
😳 ❤️ this!
Insane car isn’t it!!
Need to see this in the track for time attackkk
Awesome car!! Wonderful vtec crossover sound!!!!❤
It is unreal! What a crazy sound to come from it! I knew it would be good but I wasn't expecting it to be like THAT!! Haha
have to agree with the owner, be one off, this car is nicely built!!!!
Absolutely! Just build the car how you want to
Mega car, mega video!! Had an EK9 years ago, now have a DC5 so it’s the ultimate mash up for me ❤ Been following Andy on IG for years.. Mint EK9 👌
Thanks man! Yeah, a mash up of your two cars! Haha
Mother of god I’ve fell in love ❤❤❤❤
It’s unbelievable isn’t it!?
Not a car person myself! ...but I'd watch the Olly Ross Full Unabridged Reading of the Yellow Pages if it existed 😅 Keep being a beautiful car man, Man xxx
Hahahaha! You are too kind!
31:40 thats sound a little weird, whats that rattling noise?
Rattling noise? I can’t hear it
That's fkn beautiful omg
100% agree
dream ek9
this is the dream. i’ve literally never seen another car i want as much as i want this 😍🔥 unbelievable and great video
Absolutely! The ultimate EK9! Pure dream build!
What a lovey ek9 props to the owner👏… This inspires me to make my EK better for sure.
This is the ultimate inspiration for any Honda build really! So amazing
I drive a Nissan maxima 2017 sl. Never drove a car like this but I’m interested. Beautiful build.
This would be very different indeed! Haha. Totally agree though, it really is a stunning build
Absolutely stunning build Andy seems like a stand up guy. Would like to know how much the engine build cost
It and he really is. Unfortunately I don’t know how much it cost but I can’t imagine it was cheap
Love this car! What wheel offset do you have on this car?
Et 42
This question for the owner. Could you tell me how to delete the SRS. I plan to change the steering wheels. TQ.
I had a EK with a Spersprint exsorst perfect sound quit wen driving, and laud at high rpm
You know it’s a show car when you start taking about skunk2 lower control arms. 😂
A bit of bling for an already impressive build
Overall beautiful car!! But I’m just wondering if that’s a real Magen lip? Cause I owned a Mugen lip on my hatch and the vent holes were not cut out, and I noticed this one had its vents cut out.
You are correct, they come from Mugen as filled. You can then cut them out if you choose. It’s definitely genuine comparing it side by side to a rep
I prefer turbo , but this car really nice as well
Turbos are very cool. But imagine having the best of each… have this as your N/A car, have a turbo car and have a supercharged car too
I like the aem gauge 2
Nice!
i wouldnt get rid off EK9 stock interior it is already perfect in stock
It is pretty great! That is why I have the seats in my car
could you feature k20_rtx
Another one of HondR’s crazy cars!
Why would you cut a hole on each side of the Mugen type SS lip? And why put two bolts on each side?
Mugens own catalog image of the lip has the holes cut out and the OE lip has two screw fittings per side
No filters for the ITB's?
There is a foam filter that has a quick release. It was taken off for the video but was put back on when we went for a drive
What do you film with ?
I shot this on a Panasonic GH5 with a Canon 17-40mm lens. The rolling shots where using that camera with a DJI Ronin S gimbal and the audio is recorded using the DJI mics
Dream 🥹
Absolutely
Does anybody know where I can purchase the carbon fiber rear quarter glass strips that he had?
I would drop Andy a message on instagram. There is a link to it in the video description 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
How much oil does it burn ?
I can only assume it’s the same as every other K20…
A hood, ITS A BONNET HERE, 😂 great build, shame about the B16B, the heart of a EK9.
We call it a lid over here 😂
Haha! I knew this would get someone! 😂😂😂 I see your point but if you are going to do a swap… this is the one to do
The UV hasn’t hurt the headlights… yes, you’re in England!!!!
Hahaha! I wish this was true!
Why is he sounding like John Barnes😂😂😂
I regret trading my EK9. That’s was over 10 yrs ago and I still get mad. My wife does too lol
That is emotional! Maybe there will be another in the future?!
Honda Civic ek9 k20 turbo
No turbo on this one
Aem series 2
👍🏻
Airbag delete ?🥲
Steering wheel one gone too! Harnesses though… 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
I understood 2% of what this guy said lol
Haha! The Scottish accent is usually stronger than this too!
Moo-gen not mew-gen
The worlds best varies my the use. An over powerful car is not useful for daily use on the current road situation! I en. 1997 Honda Del Sol Si.
I am the original owner with 221,000 miles. It is a five speed manual To me car handling trumps speed for daily use. My car has double wishbone
Suspension and front and rear sway bars! The transmission is smooth! Straight power with out handling is worthless! I am very satisfied with my Del Sol. It is my only car!
For sure. They are great cars!
Love the car but those body gaps are distracting
