  • This is how I wash my motorcycle, it always produces great results. I recorded this in an ASMR style, something I’ve never done before. I hope you enjoy it!
Take your bike to the next level with a paint correction and ceramic coating:
    • How To - Paint Correct...
The tools that make this more more efficient and enjoyable:
Pressure washer: This makes removing surface dirt and debris fun and easy, and can blast away the debris in hard to reach areas of the bike. It’s a must have if you’re going to use a foam cannon.
Foam cannon: Makes applying soap quick, fun, and easy. Foaming your bike down as a “pre-wash” after you’ve gone over it with a pressure washer will help remove more surface dirt and debris by loosening it and binding to it. This will help you prevent scratching the clear coat when you do your hand wash.
Air cannon: Absolute must, and total game changer for washing your bike. This thing gets water out of all the impossible areas you can’t reach on your controls, engine, suspension, and wheels. Plus, you won’t scratch your bike while you’re drying it anymore!
Brushes: I use a stiff brush for the wheels and brakes, and softer brush on the engine and around the frame. The soft brush cleans really well but won’t scratch parts that are easily scratched.
Grit guard: Another must have. This will help draw dirt and debris to the bottom of your wash bucket, ensuring you’re not dragging it across the clear coat when you’re doing your hand wash. Using a two bucket technique will help keep your microfiber mitt even cleaner.
Microfiber Mitt: Great for hand washing as it’s soft and non abrasive. Using a mitt helps keep you from dropping it on the ground accidentally.
Two buckets: One bucket has clean soapy water, the other has just water and your grit guard. After you hand wash a section of the bike from the top down, rinse your mitt into your wash bucket with water and grit guard. You can use a grit guard in each bucket, however, if you pressure wash the bike, foam it, and rinse it, I’ve found one grit guard is enough.
    Steps:
    1. Apply wheel cleaner to wheels, calipers, rotors, and tires. Let sit for a few minutes then rinse. This will remove a majority of the dirt, grime, and brake dust from your wheels and brakes. Don’t spray wheel cleaner into exhaust or bare metal, it can discolor it.
    2. Rinse entire bike with pressure washer. This removes a lot of the major surface dirt and debris.
    3. Foam cannon the entire bike and leave for a few minutes. Most automotive soaps are ph neutral, and have surfactants that will help bind to dirt and lubricate. We want to remove as much dirt and debris as possible before moving to the hand wash. This will help reduce the likelihood of scratching your clear coat.
    4. Rinse entire bike again. This will remove the soap along with all the bound up dirt that the soap was able to bind to, leaving a surface that’s more clean, but not fully clean. Again, we want to remove as much dirt as possible before hand washing to prevent scratches.
    5. Use foam cannon to soap the engine / suspension / hard to reach areas. Gently brush all surfaces with a soft detailing brush. This will clean without scratching plastics and carbon fiber. Rinse with pressure washer.
    6. Use foam cannon to soap wheels / brake calipers & rotors. Use a stiffer detailing brush, this won’t scratch wheels, but is tough enough to remove any left over grime. Rinse with pressure washer.
    7. Hand wash. Two bucket technique, one bucket has clean soapy water, other bucket has water and grit guard. Start at the top of the bike and work your way down. Do small to medium sections at a time, rinsing your microfiber mitt by rubbing it on the grit gaurd before each time you move onto a new section. Dunk it into your clean soap bucket and start on the new section. This ensures a clean mitt and clean soap / water. It’s all about not scratching the clear coat.
    8. Rinse with pressure washer. Ensure you remove all soap so you don’t end up with any soap residue. Sometimes you need to spend a little more time in hard to reach areas to ensure all the soap has been removed.
    9. Dry with air cannon. This tool will help you get the bike completely dry without drips from areas that are inpossible to dry with a towel. Drying your bike this way will also prevent scratches that can happen when drying with a towel. It’s really a game changer and I recommend it highly!
    10. Enjoy your beautiful, clean bike, and remember a clean bike will net you +10 BHP (dyno proven) 😎
