You'll get your wheelie fun mode with the map that comes with the full exhaust. Pretty happy that I did find a dealer who won't add anything beyond the standard destination fee (no "prep" charge) when mine cones in, and please clean your camera lens so we can see this beauty better next time. Thanks for all the info and the depth that seems to be lacking from so many others.
100% agree they run lean from factory. Also I noticed your tank sounded pressurized , I also had the same issue. Ducati is selling these things with the fuel tank vent plugged! Check the line behind your brake foot. Theres a clear plastic plug that needs to be pulled.
I have a plug in mine, dealer said that needs to remain there. Are u sure that is a fuel tank vent? How can Ducati just vent that to atmosphere and still pass EPA stuff? Typically that has to vent to charcoal canister, no?
@@churchofbrap876 so come to find out that plug is there to force the system to vent through the charcoal canister.. so if you unplug it , it bypasses it which is why they say to leave it. Even though one guy at the dealer said to pull it… mixed info 😒
Let's get to the elephant in the room.... 698 vs. smcr 690. I am one of thousands who own an smcr and would consider swapping it for this new Ducati. We are all anxiously awaiting comparison videos.
Keep the KTM. Give the Duc a few years for the aftermarket to develop like it has for several years now with the KTM. Both great bikes for sure, but KTM has a head start with this type of bike.
I agree, super cool machine, but the price point is ridiculous. I sat on one at Lynnwood Motoplex and was digging it, but when I heard the price, I jumped right off. If Ducati wants to move many of these in the US, the base model should start under $10K in my opinion.
there is no real competitor beside 690/700/701 from ktm/husq/gasgas family. So they price it the same around 13k. But I aggree, supermoto is niche but should not be this expensive
Thanks David. Can't wait to see the Dyno run, and what you think of the suspension overall. And appreciate the info on the oil change. We think alike on initial oil changes and intervals. Will be interesting to see the Dyno info before and after the exhaust swap, and how it sounds and performs. I assume the Ducati dealer will do something with the "tune" when you get this installed? And curious how the bike would run, and sound with just the cans replaced, not the entire system. Kind Regards
Solid vid dude. I'm hoping a good tune can bump up the low/mid range torque. Also, have you heard about any other aftermarket exhaust rumors yet? I'm excited to see what SC Project comes up with.
Im sure a tune us going to make big improvements . No. Im an sc dealer and will Be testing different exhausts on it once they come out. Please go to the description and email woolich about adding this platform to the software. So any exhaust that comes out can be properly tuned for
I cant find a KTM stock bike dyno run to see what kind of numbers it makes. have a link to one? Ill be posting my baseline runs in the couple days for my 698

I always do on my new bikes motor during assembly uses assembly lubes and no matter how clean the assembly shop the motor was open new motors are when the most amount of metal will come off into the oil I dont wait till the end of recommended break in to start hammering on my stuff so I want fresh oil and any contaminants/metal out before it do

@@vcyclenutI’d say it the KTM/Husky offer potentially better value since they come standard with a quick shifter and you can find them sitting at dealerships for under MSRP. Looking forward to what you do with the bike though!

with euro 5 most bikes running lean, especially big single like this, the 690 also suffer the same with that extremely hot exhaust

If you don’t have the luxury of a spare set of bolts, any other way to remove the oil filter cover to get to the filter.
Nice vid and totally agree, ordered one, love it but certainly not a good value, but still had to have it!

I noticed the pressurized gas tank you may want to pull the barb vent fitting by the swing arm
thanks for the tip
It’s supposed to stay in. I’ve confirmed with three separate Ducati dealers

They havent given me a date. Id be happy with that date!!

Do the ergonomics feel like the 2012 Hypermotard 1100 ?
I have not ridden one
Okay, thanks. I was hoping the new one felt more like a dirt bike. My 2012 didn’t really

Actually it was a yam

no, it tells you when you go to reserve.
In essence, buy a KTM. Brilliant!
Would be great to ride them back to back.
true, I would put my trust in the LC4, and the spoke wheels look better
