Looked a lot like the trip Laurel River had in the Dubai WC today - got away from them early around the turn and opened up on them coming into the stretch.
Well let’s see how it all goes when Fierceness competes in this years toughest test of all the American Triple Crown that was last won in 2018 by Justify
When he has his mind on running nobody can touch him. The derby is all about Fierceness
100% he’s just a machine. He’s a lot more talented than people think he is
@@perlebabin7115 If they didn't before, they do now.
looks good only a bad draw could scupper him
Very impressive performance, his performance was way ahead of the trial in Meydan yesterday.
He has shown his A game is on the lead, wire to wire 1 1/4 and Pletcher’s track record in the Derby I’ll pass but think he can be in the Super.
Looks like a triple crown contender.
Absolutely not. I’d be surprised if that pedigree will let him get the Derby let alone the Belmont.
Get the feeling he might be another Flightline. A horse with a very small race record that wins one "big race" and is retired immediately after for the big bucks at the breeding shed. Never personally understood the hype around Flightline.
The field in this race was weak and iirc the race was quite slow so Fierceness may be outpaced and out of his depth in the derby.
@@PootisDaLoopisyou weren’t just getting his on the track performances flightline pedigree was monster. He’s out of Tapit who probably would’ve won the derby if given the chance to run in it and he was the hottest sire at the time. His mom has Indian Charlie who in his own right was a monster of a horse and most of his stock came with speed. Case being, Flightline had much promise no matter where you looked being on the track or his tree.
@@TechDoneRight1 That is true, but I personally don't think pedigree is everything. Thoroughbreds are getting more and more inbred and nearly all of them are from the Goldolphin lines. Byerly turk is all but gone except for a few Saudi TBs, and I think the Darley lines are practically gone.
@@TechDoneRight1 The Belmont is at Saratoga until at least 2026 and will be 10 furlongs....sooooo, he pedigree wise very much so will be looking at a TC this year.
110 Beyer and he was eased in the stretch. He is very light on his feet. He almost glides across the track. He reminds me of American Pharoah in his running style and how easily he moves. I'n not saying he's the next American Pharoah but he has a very efficient running style. I thought this was a wide open Derby with the post-time favorite going off in the 7-2/4-1 range. I think Fierceness will be more in the 5-2 range when the morning line is set.
Average early pace allowed the favourite to settle in well and control the race from the front, with enough energy saved up to finish spectacularly. He won't have that luxury in the derby and it will be quite a different test pacewise, especially early on.
Big field too, looks like odds are on him and Sierra Leone.
Just a walk in the park.easy splits..get him to the front and put him on cruise control.. johnny made it look easy...he won't get away with easy splits in Kentucky.. Todd is a real gentleman as well as horseman..I wish them the best going forward....
You can't get a trip like that in derby NO WAY

“Fierceness….THE REAL FIERCENESS…is putting on a show in Hallandale!”
He was the only speed in the race and they were crawling.
Watch starting at 1:07 . EVERY other jockey riding their horses, asking them to run, Velazquez just sitting there on a relaxed Fierceness. He looks the part of a horse that's got a great chance in the Derby.
I noticed that too. One other thing to note ... no horses win on that track at that distance starting from the outside post. He handled the start flawlessly.
Muy tranquilo ganó, mi mejor calificación!
I Knew It All Along...NEVER A DOUBT!!! He's a Contender Charlie!!! Onto The Kentucky Derby!!!!
Wow! What a win from Fierceness he wiped that track clean out! What a dominating performance from a fantastic horse. A very exciting Florida Derby for 2024. I think Fierceness is a good one!
The Florida Derby winner usually takes the Kentucky Derby too. I believe it has to do with "peaking." The colt that wins the Florida Derby is "peaking" at just the right time to also win the Kentucky Derby.
@@ralphcrisp2896thank you for this info Ralph. Putting 1000 on Fierceness to win the derby now.
@@ralphcrisp2896 Ralph
Yea he woke the Florida derby by 13 ,your a real genius huh
Overrated RAT. He had a perfect trip in the derby. I read Ohtani bet on him. He is a mush. Florida derby was a FAKE RACE.

FIERCENESS IS BACK!! He roared back in the BEST WAY!! Now this was The Florida Derby That I Was Waiting For!! Congratulations To Todd Pletcher, John Velasquez and Owner Mike Repole For Getting Fierceness Back To Where He Belongs: The Winners Circle!!
Супер!🐎🐎🐎
Fierceness didn’t just win the Florida derby, he *was* the Florida derby!
24/48 half and kd winner? Ok.
You know a horse running better? It's not about the times, every track is different with different condistions....that will change the time up, If it's a deep track, it doesn't matter how fast you can move your legs....it's gunna slow you down...if it's weathered, same thing....he could have gone 22/45 on a different track with that performance.
@@SmoggyFroggy im talking about the pace,
@@dawniebon5912 I mean, maybe one other horse is on his level when he is running well, and that horse wont be in the Kentucky Derby, since they are trained by Baffert.
@@SmoggyFroggy pace is gonna be fast in the derby ,allways that way, Anyways looks like he has big chance if few things goes in he is way ,dont forget the weather and most important is gate number
Been my Derby horse since the unveiling at Saratoga ,,, 😉
With Pletcher and Velazquez together on this horse it looks like a sure thing to me.
Repole, figures. Meanwhile Locked.......
there is a horse called forever young that might have something to say come the 1st saturday in may
Eh aquí el ganador del primer paso de la triple, ganó sin hacerle nada, es un caballazo
Reminds me so much of one o my all time favorites Shared Belief
hes my derby bet for sure
これは強い!
It was a great win but the competition was alot better in the Arkansas Derby and The Louisiana Derby
Doesn't pletcher win this every year and horse comes nowhere
Yes he is the greatest of all time. Nobody can touch this guy. Put it allll on him . Do it do it!! Do it nowwww!!! Lol
There will be a handful of these types come Derby Day , they cant all win
He won't be running with the milkshake in his tummy on Derby Day. Guarantee it.
Funny
