Love this video, so helpful! I'm a huge fan of the railing block, myself. I enjoy being able to repair, shoot, and perhaps most importantly paint thru shapes 😛

This was really informative mate. I have been using the railings myself but didn't realise there were so many blocks with collision turned off. Thanks Eko, I'll definitely try some of these.
This is interesting not just for turrets, but also has useful implications for powered doors. if a turret can track through those blocks, motion sensors work past those blocks as well. That could help solve the "two sides and one trigger" problem powered doors run into in a new and interesting way. I would be worried that cops will also see / spit through them though.
You want to know something that will blow your mind? Doing some (very) brief testing, some blocks that seem to work like the now patched Baluster Corner 01 are: Siding Burnt 01 - Has way less hit points then a full block would, but you can shoot straight through it and one side is identical to the side of a full block. Plate Bracket Centered - This is the magic block for now I think. Has full hit points and one face that is identical to a full block. Can shoot straight through it like it isn't there. Cube 1/2 Centered Confessional - Honorable mention. Doesn't have a full face like the previous two but you can shoot straight through it even if it is oriented side on such that there is no visible gap that you would be shooting through. Might be applicable in some niche ways. Happy building.

OR is there a slopped block that would have the bags all fall to a collection point (kind of thinking out loud here) and collect the stacks of loot Bags from A secure entry point???
No blocks that the loot bags would fall through. I have seen people build underground fighting positions so that when the zombies drop stuff, it rolls to the fighting position where you can snag it. You can also do something like I did on my Winter’s Edge base which has two fighting lanes inside the base that you can switch one off and loot during horde night.

This happened on consecutive horde nights too. So I'm going to check this out after your block revelations that is if they can see through blocks. Thanks again.
I need to put a note at the top of the video - they change the baluster block in A21. It’s no longer the magical block it was. Cop spit is becoming an issue with any non-full block sadly.
In regards to your turrets in this video, do spray bullets end up damaging the opposite turret? Is that what had caused the damage when you were showing us how they can be accessed to repair them? I guess in a kill corridor, you could just have one turret per block/row and stagger them.
If bullet collision is off, does that mean puke will pass through? Can cops see thru blocks that they can shoot thru? Or do they break line of sight and prevent cops from puking?
I saw your answer other comments that puke will pass thru, but you haven't touched on line of sight (will a screamer see you?) And/or opacity and farming applications
I am currently playing with these blocks in creative mode and I am unable to access the dart traps through either the 3d trussing blocks or the railings. Anything I am missing? Thanks for the videos, liked and subscribed!
is there a way to make it so u can see thru the blocks you can shoot thru but not see thru so u can tell where zombies are & shoot them urself? or is it only good for turrets? what would be good would be some sort of one way mirror/window thing like they have in police station interrogation rooms.. especially for pvp... so you can shoot enemies but they cant see you
Great question - I will need to research that once because it will depend on how throwables are classified. I know they won’t go through any of the bars, railings, security grates. It’s possible they will go through some of the half blocks. I usually use shutters for throwables.
The best trick there is to put a shutter down and then make sure you have a 1/4 block centered below it so you can throw through but won't fall through. My base video coming out later this week will use that mechanic.
Cop spit is considered a bullet - so if you can shoot through they can. The trick is that zombies target you are the fastest way to get to you. So if you use that to your advantage and place turrets in flanking positions - it’s unlikely the cops will turn that direction to spit
@@WaywardEko i dunno if they changed the cops spit in the recent update or the blocks cos the bars i was using before spit didnt get thru and now it goes thru.. is it better to have turrets one block up so they go for headshots or does the turret automatically aim for the head?
What I still wonder is ... a block YOU can shoot through ... also a COP could spit through? ...and it won't protect the blocks behind it in case a demolisher's exploding...!?
I am fairly certain that it was introduced with A20 experimental -- definitely saw that really early. I'm just confused how the code decides that, because I can't find another attribute in the XML that would govern that.
@@WaywardEko But it is still a stupid decision. There is an opening right through the middle to interact with the other side. Why can't I repair stuff on the other side??
Ill just use perhaps 3 layers of the metal truss 3d to cage my self protected while i can shoot the zombies in my secure location jobs where u have to kill 100+ zombies that just keep spawning untill u hit the kill count lol
@@mikecarter3983 Nope. I believe the cop vomit counts as bullet/arrow type projectile and will go through. No answer to shooting out but stopping that. I think the best use case here is for traps that are offset from your fighting position as it's unlikely for cops to target them.
@@WaywardEko I solved the vomit problem by making myself a mod that seriously nerfs the vomit. With my mod installed the cops can only vomit for about a 6 meter distance and the vomit does only five hit points worth of block damage now.
Bruh... okk I don't care about wiring. What are all the blocks with no bullet collision? Baluster rails or whatever are really chunky so I'd like to know what the others are. I need a TLDR list because this video seems mislabeled and just talks about wiring and repairing for most of these blocks...
@@WaywardEko you literally only spoke about wiring most of the video then said, "mustve acdidentally shot this one away" leading me to believe that the line up had everything to do with the only thing you were talking about (wiring) and nothing to do with bullet collision unless you mentioned it on the specific block... Question, can cop spit still get you through all of the shootable blocks? Even the 'invisible' ones that the turrets shoot through?
Yes -- it is a projectile and if you can shoot through -- it they can. There are no one way mirrors.
They can see you! Farming applications is an upcoming video - maybe this week!
PLEASE talk about Air Duct shape, zombies can get stuck in a vertical shaft of it and neither player nor zombie can damage it from the inside
I've never run into this cause I always place them horizontally.
I am currently playing with these blocks in creative mode and I am unable to access the dart traps through either the 3d trussing blocks or the railings. Anything I am missing? Thanks for the videos, liked and subscribed!
Ahh .. you can't connect electricity if you are in the prefab editor -- assuming that is what you mean by creative mode.
Are there any blocks that the robotic sledge can “push” through and damage the block?
I don’t think so … because they only have a 1 block range I don’t think they could reach through.
is there a way to make it so u can see thru the blocks you can shoot thru but not see thru so u can tell where zombies are & shoot them urself? or is it only good for turrets? what would be good would be some sort of one way mirror/window thing like they have in police station interrogation rooms.. especially for pvp... so you can shoot enemies but they cant see you
I don’t think they have any blocks like that that I have found - really more for turrets.
What about diagonal fighting positions ?
You can use diagonal security grates.
What projectile is cop vomit classed as?
I believe it counts a bullet.
Baluster corner been fixed cant shoot through no more
Yup - they modified the characteristics in A21.
What about throwables?
Great question - I will need to research that once because it will depend on how throwables are classified. I know they won’t go through any of the bars, railings, security grates. It’s possible they will go through some of the half blocks. I usually use shutters for throwables.
Do you know how do these blocks work with the cop vomit?
Cop Vomit counts as a bullet and will pass through.
Now that 1.0 is here, it doesn't look like Balusters work anymore.
Yup - they patched it out. I need to do an updated video on interesting blocks to use!
@@WaywardEko So, have you done the new video yet?
Any luck with molotovs? I was trying to find one i could walk on and throw a moly through. I wasnt successful :(
The best trick there is to put a shutter down and then make sure you have a 1/4 block centered below it so you can throw through but won't fall through. My base video coming out later this week will use that mechanic.
How does this work in A22?
They fixed the baluster block ... all the rest is still relevant in A21.
what block can you shoot thru but cops cant spit thru or see you?
Cop spit is considered a bullet - so if you can shoot through they can. The trick is that zombies target you are the fastest way to get to you. So if you use that to your advantage and place turrets in flanking positions - it’s unlikely the cops will turn that direction to spit
@@WaywardEko i dunno if they changed the cops spit in the recent update or the blocks cos the bars i was using before spit didnt get thru and now it goes thru.. is it better to have turrets one block up so they go for headshots or does the turret automatically aim for the head?
What I still wonder is ... a block YOU can shoot through ... also a COP could spit through? ...and it won't protect the blocks behind it in case a demolisher's exploding...!?
ah okay, I just read another guy was asking this and got answered, ty :) (so cops can spit through them...)
Yes - sorry - cop spit is a bullet type I believe and thus can pass through.
Is this related to why you will get rained on while indoors? 🧐
I would say yes ... except that it also rains through all the solid blocks you can't shoot through :)
@@WaywardEko ahh i see... thanks for the reply :)
When did they change/nerf the arrow slits? And more important WHY? Not being able to repair through them is stupid.
And the stupid part is that frame block with shape of ramp cant be shoot through
Yup. All things are not created equal.
😘👌
thanks Sean!
Do you know if these are still correct in the current version?
The baluster block got patched out, but I believe the rest is still valid.
Ill just use perhaps 3 layers of the metal truss 3d to cage my self protected while i can shoot the zombies in my secure location jobs where u have to kill 100+ zombies that just keep spawning untill u hit the kill count lol
That'll do it for sure! 3d truss blocks are magical. Great for base pillar supports as well!
Cop vomit???
Yup! The green goo they spew at you.
@@WaywardEko do the blocks you can shoot through stop the vomit
@@mikecarter3983 Nope. I believe the cop vomit counts as bullet/arrow type projectile and will go through. No answer to shooting out but stopping that. I think the best use case here is for traps that are offset from your fighting position as it's unlikely for cops to target them.
@@WaywardEko I solved the vomit problem by making myself a mod that seriously nerfs the vomit. With my mod installed the cops can only vomit for about a 6 meter distance and the vomit does only five hit points worth of block damage now.
Just use flipped and inversed scaffolding ladders so they act as bars. Blocks most vomits, you can shoot and melee through.
Bruh... okk I don't care about wiring. What are all the blocks with no bullet collision? Baluster rails or whatever are really chunky so I'd like to know what the others are. I need a TLDR list because this video seems mislabeled and just talks about wiring and repairing for most of these blocks...
Nothing mislabeled. I walked through every block you can shoot through and even put a list up. ruclips.net/video/lcXF83asvrQ/видео.html
@@WaywardEko you literally only spoke about wiring most of the video then said, "mustve acdidentally shot this one away" leading me to believe that the line up had everything to do with the only thing you were talking about (wiring) and nothing to do with bullet collision unless you mentioned it on the specific block... I'm good. I just tested in prefab editor and tester. Don't tag me again
