After this was filmed the devs released a new pathing update to specifically nerf this build... But I've fixed it 😎 New video coming very soon!
So excited for a Jawoodle Park 🏞️ episode! You're awesome Woodle much love from the US 💜!
Are you sure you are a muppet 😂😂😂
Please keep in mind everything smaller than a half block like poles, plates, wedgetips etc. got massive reduced hitpoints. Poles for example have only 25% of a full or half block.
you can rotate lanterns now ;)
Man don't worry about explaining it for the new subs the old subs know you enough, I only have this game for ps4 and I have watched your videos for a while now lol wouldn't mind a muppet special, just a compilation of the muppet moments over the years.
This is fantastic man. Well done on the explanation for those that have never built one before. Glad to see it still works.
Thanks man! It may not be the base I build for myself anymore, but I like the idea of it saving a couple new player's lives on occasion haha
Its not so good it works, it removes the fun to see if you can survive horde night and kind of removes immersion and apprehension too. Might as well turn horde night off if you build this base. I would hope that the devs could find a way to make 50 percent of horde night zombies stupid zombies that just break any blocks on the way to the player. That would make horde night unpredictable and more intense.
@@casapa9202 don't be a wet sock
@@casapa9202 "I don't like it when people play the game in a way I don't agree with, everyone should have to play it the way I want to" -that's what you sound like
@@casapa9202 Cops kinda do that. Their vomit can damage blocks. Imagine a couple cops not even trying to path to you, just standing and spitting at your position.
Yes! A JaWoodle Park episode. JaWoodle Park is what got me started watching this channel years ago. The number of blocks that we have to work with now is crazy. I'm loving it. Good job Josh.
Something to consider for this base. There is a block a lot of people are using to make floating bases. Even though it's very tiny, it has full HP, so a tiny bit of a block can have 5000 or 10k HP, yet be nearly impossible for zombies to lock on to to hit. You could use that for the pillars on the side of the corridor you're standing on, so the zombies literally have nothing to hit to cause a collapse. Combined with the endless cycle of them wanting to run the corridor, you'd be completely safe there.
Yay for being back in JaWoodle Park! ^w^ I'm definitely looking forward to all the build ideas you'll come up with since there's now so, so many kinds of shapes at your disposal!
For years now whenever you make a corridor video I check the comments for the Funpimps, I bet they're lurking here somewhere.
Hell yeah Jawoodle park! Been waiting for this.
One of the first things I did when I had the mats was build a killing corridor. I'm finding some zombies get absolutely fixated with one particular block just before the drop into the pit of doom. Apart from that it works like a dream. Cheers Josh.
thanks for the video imma have try this build in my world i just started playing agian sence alpha 16 i think so nice to see beginner friendly horde build ! look forward to more of your vidoes
Thanks for the base building ideas.
I know that a patch came out where they nerfed many blocks, so you just have to keep that in mind when building your base.
Can't wait to see your future builds.
I gotchu dw, more coming
I made the a19 killing corridor in a20 and in horde day 35 they tunneled under the platform and collapsed the whole build. Whole base was concrete and there was some steel in hot areas. It was nuts so we desperately need this for our multiplayer server. Maybe a future multiplayer horde base that can accommodate everyone
He's making what's called a "zwinger".
Great to see you testing again! Hope to see you revisit the melee base from Extinction, been having issues with the Zs beating the base instead of pathing up the steps.
make your bars weaker than the stuff around you , they'll go for the weakest path
nice one mate. just getting back into 7Days after 4-5 months off and this video helped alot. thanks alot boss :)
Great video
You can also make the zombies fall down by themselves by making a pole or pillar bridge and, at the end, use a wedge tip 1 block high and 1 block to either right or left of pillar bridge
You see, they see those wedges as a viable crawling option (instead of a normal path) and they forget their floor when they crawl
Haven’t seen you in forever and I feel your voice have grown 😍 thanks for this.
After about 14 mins in, when you added that little bit, reminds me of a shape of a Zipper for many coats/pants.
Ooh, that's exciting! I loved it in 19, I'm eager to try it again!
Welcome back JaWoodle Park the king of 7d2d videos! thanks for doing this video first, i should have known what i was doing wrong and now its obvious! i actually only build half of the corridor but i didn't give it that bit to change their pathing so they were just beating on the half blocks
Gotta love a nice killing corridor! Thanks for the video!
Back to basics! Love it thank you!
I'm so here for this!! Highlight of my day!
so excited to see you making JaWoodle park again I didn't get to see much of the old one bc I can in to watching your videos just last year but I love ever min of it
Lets goooo, we about to see some mad builds
Good to see things working as intended, but also some of the issues that bases face in general. Like, if it's too short, the dogpile from their fall will allow them to reach you (solved by digging a pit with stairs out of it for them to fall into). Also needing a long enough drop section to prevent them from leaping at the bars, and narrow passages needing to be avoided because they jam up and start beating on stuff. All the highlights of survival on horde night. Nice one Josh!
Awesome info thank you Josh
Man, I really wish I had known about this way sooner... This works so much better than any other type of horde base we've used in the past... We actually have it attached to the side of our main base now and helps with the wandering hordes that come after us
Fascinating to see so many different kinds of horde bases...and it makes me grin not seeing my style of base anywhere else.
Super excited for this
Amazing content my guy I love building this base
It was only a matter of time before this vid came out, great work!
Always loved the KC. I changed on my current playthrough to the corridor he used in Darkness Falls with the hatches. Makes it nice for a Bat and Shotgun run.
Awesome! A most effective unpowered base, as long as you have sufficient ranged weaponry. If you are really short on materials you can shorten the length of the corridor a bit, but as Josh noted, since they don't attack the structure much you could use wood for much of it. You could add electric posts in the corridor to make it a head shot shooting gallery later.
A TFP counter to this would be to make bunker buster zeds that attack your horizontal position and ignore your vertical position. Imagine having to counter waves of busters going for your foundation during the horde.
I do wish there was an iron material though before steel (frame, wood, cobble, cement, *iron*, steel). The lack of an iron block before steel irks me a bit since you can forge iron long before steel.
Iron would be weeker then concrete.
I've said for a long time that I think the best version of zombie AI would have a mix of dumb/smart. Make regular zombies have dumb AI, but then specialist zombies (like construction worker/wights/etc) have smart AI. No cheese can perfectly/easily handle both, but it would make early game more intense
Just built this today. Horde night was so much better. Thank you!
You could also make your platform pillar wider and have a trapdoor and ladder to enter the hollow middle to repair it. Also, covering it for the damn birds, though I think you mentioned that one
Nice to know the killing corridor still works, sometimes a classic just stays a classic!
Not sure what he did, but this video is extremely misleading. Zombies are now coded to go after support pillars and walls before they come after you. So they would just break down the bottom part and everything crumbles.
@@Raavyn18 Spot on!! pretty much any build guide gets smashed by the zmboids
I like how two zombies at the end just decide to go running off into the desert for a minute, before realising that there's still a horde going on and they've got a job to do.
there was a third one in the bottom right corner that never came back
found your channel because of the killing corridor, glad to see ya back at it :)
I love the new idea and noticed u did stuff i do haha one thing I reckon would work better is a hole deep enough to hurt them when they fall but make it like a upside down pyramid
aaaah Jawoodle Park, my favourite episodes!
The Spider jumped 3 times in your face! And one made it to the platform. That jump looked really cool :D Good spidy boy, have a bonk. :D
And the new hodded guy just left your party at 23:12 xD You can see him running against the cactus at 23:49. He's just done with the world. Man that's hilarious as always.
Would love to see some cops and the new tumor-thingy zombie. The cops do explode, right? (I could be wrong, but every cop I came across in the Wasteland exploded on the street and I never saw a mine directly placed on the streets there so I'm not sure.)
Nice video mate! :)
Yessss brand new Jawoodle Park!
This is the pinnacle of horde base design, but the basics are there: make the pathing predictable (get off the ground, but having a simple, small structure with a single opening also works for early hordes) and put something strong between you and the zombies (but not too strong). I do like that the new "crawl through a single block" mechanic makes us rethink and tweak base design, but if you keep things simple and follow the key principles you'll be just fine.
Looking forward to more JaWoodle park!!! I'd love to see your version of the bare minimum horde base.
You didn't mention that the pit with stairs bringing the zambonis back up protects the pillars from rage mode completely since you choose where they come back up. Also, instead of putting a second layer of bars you could have just put poles across the top. Looks empty to you, but is full to them. Then, later, you can fill the middle in with powered hatches to bring them in for melee fun but if it gets too much, hit the switch and it turns back into the killing corridor.
Ah JaWoodle Park glad to see it back!
Lol did you notice Arlene's name tag, I just spit out my drink laughing xD
I'd never tried a killing corridor before, so I just tried your design in my game and it worked GREAT. They barely did any damage to it at all.
Thanks for giving instructions on how to build this, I had no idea how it was done.
You're welcome! Good luck, and have fun!
Great video!
Question, is there a video where you explain how to use the dev tools & the terrain editors and so on?
Cheers.
0:01 Are we finally getting a JaWoodle park episode. You need build a elaborate fence out of the fancy shapes.
Edit: You need to build a clock tower with spiral stairs as your plaza as well.
i bought this game in the beginning of january and already played 80 hrs. I love this game so much.
Love your videos too, cant get enough of your base designs.
For me my bases always fail haha, all my horde nights so far ended with my base getting broken in at a weakspots and zombies come zerging me, maybe 20 zombies per horde night is a bit too much for a "beginner".
But i wont give up haha, my next base hopefully is gonna make it with your ideas being used haha :D
Welcome back JaWoodle Park!
I love killing corridors. That and the zombie forcefield are the most fun things to build.
I can't wait to see what you come up with once you get familiar with all the new blocks. Meanwhile I'll still be messing with the same 4 blocks I've always used.
Nice to know fella , And does the forcefield wall still work ?
thank you :)
I appreciate you covering the basics! As a new player I found the whole building part confusing and time consuming to figure out!
14:00 your name sounds like a limp noodle, your confidence and commentary implies that that might be accurate. Great content!
this almost feels like gloating to the game devs like 'hey look my base still works, and now you have given me better blocks to make it look awesome.'
Give us back the barbwire......
haha he doesn't even have to gloat, just a fact now that they haven't had an answer to the mad scientist genius that JW packin... honestly they should have hired him on well before now to do exactly what he does on the reg!
TFP pushing zombie A.I. into the future just to stop the corridor
Yeah, they love to see these and patxh them out. Stupid. Not everyone loves getting thier bases destroyed every 7 days.
Beautifully done!
I was searching for a demolisher proof base. Is there such a thing? Obviously this works if you just don't shoot them but that's boring 😄
The burning campfires under the hole where they are dropping makes the work done by themself :D
you go jawoodles!!
This killing corridor is even more flawless than all of the previous alphas. How perfectly quaint, I'll be using this soon in my streams ❤
Thanks :D i was not aware of the fix for narrow tips walking, so i buildt my base with those as walls, and then i find out afterwards xD OMG...
But this is perfect! thanks thanks
Happy Woodle Park Day!! :)
Ahhhh, man how I miss JaWoodle Park..I remember watching you build that beautiful place up base by base, idea by idea..you’re still the best Josh..
I wonder if the wood slits still work as an invisible barrier or not. Would love to see if it still works! Glad to see that JaWoodle Park will be making a come back!
Aaaah, JaWoodle Park... we're back at home!!
Nice work! I used something like this but mine was more compact and took damage from jumping/falling zombies. I just need to extend it out I think. A pit works really well with the new bevel cube block at your feet to toss pipe bombs thru and stand on. No more flipping hatches open and closed! Love the new blocks so much!
I was thinking about this, theres actually a block that is mostly solid but has a cylindrical cutout, like a straw, going through it. I believe the hit box allows you to shoot thru or toss bombs thru the cutout, but not let your body fit thru
@@stevdor6146 Thanks, I will try that one too!
my day 7 was something like this, with centered poles instead of wedges, so i still had a bit of challenge. they came up to my hatches like woodles fists only corridor, but a whack from a bat knocks them off :D or knocks their head off
For those who are interested, there is a block named 'cube corner beveled' that is identical to the cupboard used in the video. I haven't done any tests but I assume they have the exact same amount of health and so on, the only difference is the names.
Today is the morning of my wedding, but I've got to get my Jawoodle fix for today. I'd have to call the wedding off if I couldn't watch you while having my morning coffee.
I know you don´t remember me and it´s okey. this vid is freakin awesome, you´re a legend
The only addition I can think of which helps is iron bars on the pillar bases. Adds a layer of armor, used it for a a19 horde base much like this. You can also put fences along the entry path so they have to stop to jump over them, if the top of your killing area is open.
For a bit of fun, make this base tall (16 blocks or more), and force the zombies to fall into a chute, which is lined with blade traps. I call it the zombie grinder base - zombies come in, and minced zombies come out. The only problem is powering all the blade traps. Multiple generators are usually necessary.
Look up the word 'abattoir'
How does this handle the demolition zeds? Does it trigger their explosives, or do they just die or fall through just fine?
Was looking forward to the return to the park but I'm curious on new ladder/shutter mechanics. Testing for another day I guess.
I have plans
We use a ladder setup and it works great. Described it in another post
Jawoodle Park is back yes!!!
Great build for newbies and veterans alike! Easily built out of wood for the first horde and then just upgrade. Start with the critical parts like the stairs, pillars and the *tip* (giggity).
Melee horde base next?
Tried making this out of wood, then cobble and when placing the roof bars it crashes down :(
Yey josh im playing the console version, will have to try it out and see if it works
Great build, the zombie waterfall is pretty mesmerizing, I must say. 😂
i was close to finishing this with what i had available. i used cobblestone blocks, made it all the way to the part where you just need to add the bars on top.. then BAM all my hard work that i spent hours on just crumbled down.. idk why
Woot! JaWoodle Park!
Or, if you want to melee them, maybe use the barn base method and put a pole (or similar shape) for them to run up to you on because that way, they're never going to be able to get more than a couple zombies to the end without falling off and you can easily knock them off.
Oh yeah! The Killing Corridor still works! That's awesome!
Will you test the waistlandz "car park" base? Using it myself in A20 and noticed odd things with it with some of the new movements (like the zombie crawling).
I love it when he says ''you can call me JaWoodle'' 😍😍😂
Thank you for showing me a True killing corridor I like the base you built in eclipse
Hello dear sir, I've tried this horde base/corridor of yours and i want to let you know it worked absolutely perfectly for 80% of the hordenight, then the stairs (basic concrete with 5000hp, alpha 19) broke and the baddies started destroying everything, killed the remaining enemies on foot, which turned out well. Any tips on improving the stairs to get a better flow, so they don't get damaged as much? I'm thinking of pyramid all the way to the corridor instead of just the lower two steps.
I had a base similar to this in a19... zombie corridor leading to main base, i had support pillars every 4 tiles in a grid, so only 3 tile gaps... worked for about 3 days til my crops grew and the entire base collapsed. Death by corn. Haven't made a platform base since... now I burrow to bedrock instead D:
I just built your carpal base and it’s surviving well too in A20.
Also did you know there’s a house with JW painted above the door?
Is that a house in honour of you Josh by the Fun Pimps?
Need some help here, I tried doing the same build but they go to the corridor only once and then after falling the first time they go straight to destroy my platform. Any ideas?
The return of JaWoodle Park, doesn't get any better!
Hey JaWoodle,
Thanks for making this video, it was really helpful. A few days ago I had tested the killing corridor, and I found that the thin corner wedges still work, the zombies think the wedges are full blocks. I put the wedges in rows, so that there is a gap in every row, but the wedges put together. Basically, Wedge corners, Gap, Wedge corner, Gap. You get the idea?
Anyways, I enjoyed the video. Also, how do I turn the AI on and off, and how do I clear large areas with the super digger gun?
Thanks.
Just built this base. Tested it twice to make sure. After the zombies fall they start thrashing the pillars and start attacking nearby structures as well
wooo hoooo Jawoodle park is back
Hurray JaWoodle park is back!
Also questing never felt so rewarding. I highly recommend to go towards daring adventurer 4. On day 46, after doing a shitload of T4 quests Jenny girl gave me a legendary shotgun bundle, containing a lvl 6 autoshotty and some ammo. As 2nd reward 500, yes bloody 500 steel blocks! Didn't touch any of the T5 quests so far but i will after day 50.
Definitely. Questing is so satisfying now!
@@JaWoodle done my first T5 factory today, was a blast and got me almost killed. I might take the drone with me again, found the heal mod. No spoilers, but the loot was damn good, quest was in the wasteland and i couldn't resist but double loot the main stash.
@@cedricwilson1593 you on alpha 20?
@@Vvapr ofc i am, done 63 horde today, currently on survivalist and 32 zeds.
@@cedricwilson1593 alright thanks. Seen someone say the quests weren’t worth a shit to upgrade but if that’s the look I will be investing perks into it.
A worm tube with the curved blocks!
Can you try to make it a balancing act by making a walkway that doesn't have walls, but has really thin floors that curves and turns, because when they rush you and is bumping into each other, they will slide off. Especially cool if it zig zags.
Also wonder if electric trap doors with floors can be utilized to trick zombies to walk over and then collapse and reset.
You tested that base against everything except.... COPS and Vultures!!! Those pesky spitters can really ruin your day Josh :D
Legend of the killing corridor.
i found a new way to wire up the garage doors for the ZOMBIE-PROOF UNDERGROUND BASE ENTRY. you built the garage door system like you did but instead on battery banks use one generator wired to the motion sensor first, then wire the motion sensor to the lights to suck up all the power. then wire the generator to the doors individually (not in series only one door will close).
the doors will always be powered up and the lights off when the motion senors see you they turn the light on taking all the power and the doors will open up the passageway.
or you do the same with the door but in a wall always powered open tell the motion sensor sees a zombie turning lights on and the doors losing power closing in front off them.
So, just to make sure I have it right. Wedge tip inside corner, wedge tips, and half blocks. Right?
