    Very nice video and interaction! I like the huge focus on so many details (which is showing in the end results btw!!)
    One question though: why do you need the level on top, since the Z7 already has a built-in level?
    I ditched mine to limit the amount of stuff in my bag...

    I have Z6II, Z 24-200mm. I have some problems using "interval timer shooting". My setting is A, auto ISO up to 51200, over 1000 photos. I have a random issue, (it happens once in a while, not always). The first 10 to 20 photos are overexposed (completely white) then it shows exposure back to normal gradually. Have you experienced anything like that? Thank you.

    Is focus shift shooting possible with flash?

    • @NikonEurope
      @NikonEurope  3 года назад

      Hi Mikko, It's possible. Just bear in mind that the interval between shots should be longer than the time needed for the flash to charge. Let us know if you have other questions.

    What software to use to assemble the stacked images? Also how to deal with focus breathing? I tested 7 macro lenses from Nikon and others, they all focus breath. Thank you.

      Hello David.
      In regards to your query, we are sorry to say that that we are unable to advise you on a particular software in order to achieve focus stacking as Nikon’s current software suite do not feature this operation.
      Our recommendation on this matter, is that you consider reaching out to our dealer network in this regard, as our dealer will also work with third party supplier how may be able to supply you with a software program capable of accomplishing what you are looking for.

    Hey Nikon, where are the Z tele lenses?

    • @jpdj2715
      @jpdj2715 3 года назад +4

      Z lenses solve a sensor problem in that sensors "hate" light at another angle than 90 degrees (which it is at the optical axis). Following the image diagonal to the corners, the angle of incidence deviates more from perpendicular and this messes with image forming. Nikon and Leica initially solved this, years ago, by staying at "cropped" use of lenses. Leica then went full frame with an anti-aliasing filter that behaves like a Fresnel lens with its rings cut up in individual lens rods over each photosite in the sensor: these tiny lenses, or glass fibers if you like, "look" at the lens in changing angles - and this design is an average between Leitz/Leica's older (excellent) lens designs. Leica's approach is a compromise, though and newer lenses in other brands adapt their design to solve the problem.
      Zeiss with Sony developed a 35mm lens for the 35mm full frame Sony compact (fixed prime) where the retrofocus design is taken to an extreme and the last element almost touches the sensor like a condenser lens, trying to get all light perpendicular on the sensor across the image circle.
      Part of the dispersion problem is two layers of filtering over the sensor: the - usually Bayer - filters that turn the colorblind sensor into seeing monochrome colors and the low pass or anti-aliasing filter. A monochrome Leica does not need both filter layers, I guess and in that sens neither the Fresnel fibers - it also doesn't need in-camera raw processing, nor in post. And could generate a 16 bit TIFF file. Your 14-bits raw file loses at least 5 of the 14 bits in raw processing.
      The dispersion problem increases when focal lengths get shorter. Or, vice versa, classic telephoto lenses require less of a solution. The Z lenses we now have, all address the dispersion problem and IMO the big telephoto lenses need this problem-solving less. And, Nikon still selling loads of D850 cameras for long lenses and sports or bird photography may slow the development of very long Z lenses or impact priority setting in R&D.
      I would not go back from my Z 1.8S primes to to my recent F gold ring 1.4G primes - optics are much better. At the same time, a Nikon 600mm on an FTZ adapter works perfectly well - in all respects. If Nikon come up with long Z/S lenses, they will solve other problems to "modern" requirements. People want lighter, potentially smaller, faster, more silent, less focus breathing, sharper, less chromatic aberration, less glare, better sun stars - and more things that each pose a problem to the others.
      And all that, will not make your sports or bird shots better, let alone more artistic. Note to self: hanging out in YT keeps you out of the studio.
