    Really great to see you guys put the work into making your customers feel confident in their DIY install. Great job! Just bought the kit with the non-thermostatic sandwich plate and feel great about the install now.

    Wow what a nice diy instruction!! Sometimes manufacturer doesn't provide any guide, and I wasted some hundred bucks for installation. Later on it turns out stupidly easy, just confusing. I'll definitely pick up one. It can be a nice bumper removal video too lol Thank you mishimoto

    You guys should do a specific kit for the DC5 !

    Having just installed one of these on my AP2, I was totally saved by this video, so thank you! Small annoyance though- The horn is grounded through the chassis and the provided bracket is painted, which insulated the horn from the chassis and prevents it from working. Additionally, you guys sell a bunch of thermostats that operate at different temps... Including a mention of how that is installed would have been nice, though with the description video of the sandwich plate was enough to get me by. Those slight annoyances aside, this thing is fantastic. Thanks for a great product guys.

    In the next couple weeks I plan to get one.. looks fairly easy for DIY.. My delima is that the oem oil filter looks like it won't fit due to bracket.. That's why they were using a fram low profile oil filter.. So is that the case..?? Need more info please.. If that's the case might pass on this.. Don't get me wrong looks beautiful with the front mount..

    Can you fit oil temp and pressure gauges to this sandwich plate?

  • @mmceorange
    @mmceorange 6 лет назад +1

    Ok so a general oil cooler question... I am building a custom setup in my Mazda 6. I've been trying to find a decent cooler (approx. 10"w x 8"h fin area) with fittings on the side, thinking it would be better so oil can drain when doing an oil change, and air can bleed out when filling. But in several of your videos, you have the cooler's ports at the top. I imagine this leaves a cooler full of old oil in the system when performing an oil change. Is this not a concern? Am I overthinking the issue? Because that would greatly simplify my search.

    • @mishimoto
      @mishimoto  6 лет назад +1

      Hello, the amount of old oil in the cooler is negligible in most cases. If you're keeping up on your oil change intervals, there would be no need to drain the cooler itself as well. Some customers do choose to remove the kit and drain it entirely, but we've found no ill-effects in leaving it installed and changing oil as usual.

    Do the oil lines come preassembled and pressure tested or do they need to be assembled like other AN hoses?

    This only happening some times and also after 10-20 miles of driving and when driving in stop and go traffic jams
    (hope its on the optimum temperature that time of drive tranny in)
    Tranny was rebuilt recently and that problem was there before and after rebuilt too.
    Need information on this and what you guys think about this problem would be? has anyone faced this kinda situation before?

      Hello Amila. Thank you for reaching out. While the oil cooler is a great product, I do not believe it will resolve your issue. This cooler is designed for people having overheating problems after several laps on the track. Personally, it sounds as if there is either an issue with the new synchros or a possible issue with the fluid level. Both of these situations could create issues once the transmission warms up. Of course, these are merely suggestions and would be tough to determine the problem without hands-on time with the vehicle. I'd suggest bringing up your issues with the rebuilder of the transmission prior to moving forward with any additional purchases to attempt to resolve your problem.

    Wait, so can the universal oil cooler sandwich plate simply fit over the OEM oil cooler like the K20Z3 one in the Civic Si?

    • @mishimoto
      @mishimoto  7 лет назад

      Hello Ttam EF. These vehicles did not come with an OEM oil cooler. However, the sandwich plate provided in this kit does fit over the vehicles factory oil filter housing. If you have any other questions feel free to email us at support@mishimoto.com or give us a call 302.762.4501. :)

    Theres no need to use thread tape ?

    • @mishimotorob5769
      @mishimotorob5769 7 лет назад

      No thread tape or paste is needed for the AN fittings or lines. The seal is made by the 37* flange on the fittings. The straight fittings seal to the sandwich plate via the integrated dowty seal.

    • @mishimoto
      @mishimoto  7 лет назад

      Hey Robert. Our kit actually requires no modifications at all to your vehicles factory system. You can leave the factory oil cooler fully intact and still install our product without any issues :)

    • @robertstockmann3337
      @robertstockmann3337 7 лет назад

      yes i know but then the Stock oilcooler will heat up the oil after it Returns from Your mishimoto oilcooler .... understand me?

    • @mishimoto
      @mishimoto  7 лет назад

      Hey Robert. The stock oil cooler would not heat up your oil after returning from ours. You now have two heat exchangers rather than one. This kit was designed to work with the factory system and all customers have been satisfied with their cooling results thus far.

    • @robertstockmann3337
      @robertstockmann3337 7 лет назад

      Ok do you have kits for integra dc2 type R

    • @mishimoto
      @mishimoto  7 лет назад

      Hey Robert. Unfortunately we do not have any direct fit oil cooler kits for a DC2 Type R. However, Honda has used the exactly same oil filter on all of their vehicles for quite some time. This kit could very likely be adapted to your type R with some minimal modifications.
