I was a young RN in the early 70's. This was prior to HIV. Now the stories I can tell about how we handled blood would make your hair curl. I worked NNICU and we did blood transfusions all the time. We thought nothing of the spilling of blood from a bag and often ended up by the end of the day covered with blood, including shoes, and paid no mind to it. We went down to the cafeteria wearing a lab coat over our blood stained scrubs. People said blood was good to feed your plants, so once I took home the blood removed from a baby and fed it to my plants. It would have otherwise gone into the trash. Seriously. BTW, it didn't make any difference for my plants. One doctor I worked with bought some beautiful red sneakers for work, why? Because it would match the color of blood she would get on her shoes. Back in those days we were all bloody messes and no one got ill from it. We even didn't wear gloves when handling it. Gloves didn't become a thing until sometimes in the '80's, post HIV. Now you know.

Health care workers became allergic to latex because the first glove requirement used cheap talc-coated latex gloves. If you wanted to wear the more expensive nitrile gloves, you had to prove that you had a dermatitis with the cheap ones. People had to put their names on their boxes of gloves. Now, everyone uses nitrile gloves. It was a crazy time. 🙄

Otherwise she looked like a normal younger doctor. Like you, I didn't ask and she didn't tell why she was wearing a mask. The staff wasn't masking and the facility didn't have any mask rule. I just thought it was an unusual choice. I didn't need to spend any of my office visit time on the topic of masks

I visited a dr in Australia today who wore a mask when I entered the room & he immediately put on a full face shield. All patients were obliged wear a mask I & had proved a negative to a RAT test. Had a chest infection & when I said I had been coughing, he told me off for attending the clinic: you are going to make me sick! He perfunctorily listened to my chest & quickly wrote a script for antibiotics & rushed me out. I turned around & saw him spray the room with something. I was stunned at being treated in this way....I felt he had no care for me whatsoever.

The situation post-Covid is quite concerning here in MA, Big Pharma central. Although the mask mandate for providers in MA was dropped recently, most PCPs I am told are still masking when meeting with patients who are not required to mask. This makes zero sense. The newly minted PCP I am supposed to meet for the first time next week is just out of residency and will probably be masked, per my phone call to the practice. I do not want to communicate with a masked primary care M.D. so will likely cancel the visit. Even a functional/integrative practice I called today told me their doctors are still masking. It is infuriating and I don't see the situation getting any better. As I turn 63 in June, I guess I just won't have a primary care doctor.

I have asthma, and I wore a mask @ work for about 2 weeks at the beginning of Covid, usually with it below my nose so I could breath and it aggravated my asthma more because of the fibers and dyes in the mask. I'm so glad that it was not something we mandated to wear.

60% of COVID cases were asymptomatic! Those doctors who say they didn’t get it all could’ve had it with no symptoms of course they were testing, but the tests wouldn’t be positive if their viral load was too low. I ordered antibody test from Vibrant America for a few patients who wanted to know if they had antibodies some jabbed and some not and interestingly three of them came in with full high IgM load starting to have IgG for 4 different antibodies, S1 spike, S2 spike protein, binding site, & Nucleoprotein antibodies and I looked at them and I said you have Covid right, now you have a live infection. and they said but we feel fine. We’re not even tired ! and I laughed and said yeah 60% of cases are asymptomatic, we tested them over the next 4 weeks every 2 weeks. IgM levels dropped and IgG antibodies rose.

I go to General Hospital in San Francisco and they kept their mask mandate until mid 2023 last year. It was ridiculous. The doctors still mask though there are no mask enforcers at the door any longer. I still see a fair amount of outdoor masking and the ever puzzling alone in the car masking.
I feel that we were inculcated with entirely too much fear during the pandemic and ever since I saw your video about stopping home testing for covid and that we should stop giving information about our status to authorities, I've been unwilling to mask or even acknowledge covid any longer.
I had a shot and I had Covid. I am done.

“There’s no reason to be walking around with a mask. When you’re in the middle of an outbreak, wearing a mask might make people feel a little bit better and it might even block a droplet, but it’s not providing the perfect protection that people think that it is. And, often, there are unintended consequences - people keep fiddling with the mask and they keep touching their face.”

I still wear my duckbilled N95 (whenever I enter the theatre complex) as a specialist anesthesiologist who treated Covid patients personally for the entire time.
I never tested positive for COVID ever. Maybe it’s the mask, hand washing between patients or vaccine I took.
    Can’t say for certain. I haven’t been re-boosted.
Back to why I like the mask 😷
I like the duck bill because it keeps me from getting the flu or Tuberculosis.
I don’t want to let my colleagues down or patients down because of being sick. (No work no pay)
In South Africa you find out days later that the patient you treated had pulmonary tuberculosis and they are only starting treatment today. I don’t even flinch because I know the N95 plus good hygiene reduces TB transmission and flu.
I don’t care if anyone wears a mask or not, I just don’t want to put my next patient at risk without knowing it and my patients enjoy trying to figure out if I have a nice smile 😃
I tell them that I do have a smile and my mask is just part of my uniform. My patients trust that I have their best interests at heart ❤️ despite the discomfort I am willing to endure for them.
You guys in the comments are so angry about something that ended more than a year ago. We don’t even think of Covid anymore, doctors by large noticed that we didn’t get these annoying sicknesses when we were wearing masks even if patients coughed directly onto our faces while examining them or intubating them.
We are happy to treat you during the worst times of your lives even putting our lives at risk. We love doing our job and most of us are great at it.
Just don’t let the mask 😷 make you insecure. Just ask as if we’re smiling 😊 underneath it and we will tell you Yes.
Because we are human after all.

The thing is, these anecdotal experiences have more credibility than any mask study out there. In these controlled settings, we can see proper mask usage vs. just handing out masks and getting reports. Pretty much every ER I've worked at, employees wearing masks regularly rarely got sick while those nonchalant about mask wearing pretty much all got sick. Mask wearing began decades before COVID. For a reason. It reduces droplet spreads.
I wish you would do a controlled mask study. Until then, I'm relying on my experiences. We see 70k patients per year. There is definitely evidence that masks reduce spread of URIs.

I have little confidence in medical professionals at this point. Any MD that is wearing a virtue signalling mask at this point is an adherent of magical thinking. I would decline treatment from such a fool. Magical thinking is dangerous in a medical professional. Such people are simply not trustworthy.
As a medical professional you have a choice to make. Either you are a member of the cult of masking (which didn't work in 1918, and still doesn't. There is no evidence that a surgical or cloth mask ever had any measureable impact on the transmission of any respiratory virus. The Cochran meta-study is unequivocal. Masks are of no measureable benefit and they deprive you of oxygen, promote bacterial growth, and impede respiration. N95 masks are no better.
I have no use for medical professionals who engage in systematic magical thinking and group dogma.
The Event 201 Script was part of the effort of the Pharmaceutical Industry to strip Clinical Physicians of their rightful place and to reduce them to mere technicians who can easily be replaced by machines in the not too distant future. There was no plan to deal with making up 2 years of missed in-class learning, no foresight into how to manage long term anxiety created by shocking everyone saying they were going to die. Just sweep it under the rug on move on I guess, even though now, at least in Santa Cruz, you see many young people still wearing masks at all times, I'm talking when HS gets out, you'll see kids walking to the bus stop wearing a mask, outside, in the middles of spring, 80*, the powers that be ruined that child's brain for life and could care less about it.

Back in 2020 I didn't wear a mask, I didn;t stay at home for one day, I went to work, shopping everything and didn't so much as catch a cold throughout all year. Applying the same logic as that doctor - this should be proof his masking is BS. Buuut - and this ties in with the ongoing baseless mandates - I'm not an "expert", ergo my experience is "anecdotal" whereas his experience is "valid" and solid proof.
Vinay, you've correctly noticed all important aspects in this matter.
Where you fail is where you draw the conclusion: Medical learning today is set to produce minor deities, experts - or whatever you want to call it. Mandates and rules - no matter how baseless they may be and especially if they are entirely arbitrary - are set precisely to enforce the boundary between experts and the plebs.

At the time, I was a widow making an income below the poverty line. The expectations from medical schools were ridiculous and you had to have lots of money and/or connections to meet them. My daughter had to work through college to get lunch money. After 3 years of applying at different medical schools, she finally got accepted. During those 3 years, she didn't sit at home. She worked as a teacher and got herself certified. I am thankful that a med school finally gave her the opportunity to pursue her dream. But she does tell me that many med students don't seem to know about real life and tend to be wealthier.

I agree with you about doctors. It seems like most people are willing to let doctors just go back to "business as usual" after participating willingly in democide of the entire population, with a bioweapon. I don't give them a pass actually.

Should Doctors dust off their Hippocratic Oath and read it properly this time?

@@Defundthemasons In the USA doctors have avoided swearing to the tenets written in the Hippocratic Oath for a very selfish and pathetic reason.
Have you read the entire Oath transcript?
There is a section included that compels Doctors to share whatever knowledge or medical techniques and medications they have with other doctors - and to do so WITHOUT CHARGING ANYTHING or engaging in exchange of money.
DO you understand why Doctors in the USA are moving away from this Oath? Some doctors also dont like the "Do NO harm" clause in the Oath because they wrongly believe that this opens them up to litigation.
The Hippocratic Oath was written by the father of Western Medicine over 2,400 years ago and it still applies today my friend.
You can trust Big Pharma to do the right thing right?
You can trust the government to do the right thing in the doctor-patient relationship right Mr Mason?
See Pandemic and the roll out of experimental mRNA Gene Transfection Therapies and their so called safe and effective use.
Relative effectiveness and risk reduction was conveniently cited as 95% or more by Big Pharma and the health regulators they control. They neglected to mention that the absolute risk reduction is about 0.83%.
They also neglected to mention the side effects and adverse events that popped up in their own initial clinical trials - clinical data that they tried to have suppressed from the public until the year 2098.
Look at the reality of Corporatism and the fascist instruments it flings around in society before you start engaging in academic Jesuit irrelevancies and trivial nonsense.

There is a person at my bank and a person at my post office who still wear a mask EVERY SINGLE DAY. Guess where I live? Portland Oregon.

I'm a veteran too so it's great to hear you've participated in that. I lived out of dumpsters and trash cans for +10 years everyday and never contacted staph infection or anything else, I did get a tetanus shot ever so often because of cuts. it seems like masks are latent baggage from the 2019 fear and conditioning.

Someone should run a study to determine if full-time masking physicians results in an increased patient risk to unnecessary procedures, excess radiation and medical costs to inappropriate/unnecessary testing. My argument is that these physicians more likely practice at the far end of the ROC curve and prefer higher sensitivity (inappropriate testing/unnecessary/ie higher costs and potential higher biopsy risks rates).

I work in Safety. I immediately think "poor risk assessment skills" when I see someone in a mask at this point.

How can you get sick from someone you’re not kissing or coming in contact with their body fluids like blood saliva. I don’t see anyone dropping dead after a hand shake or hug. People only seem to be dying at the hospitals or shortly after they leave the hospitals.

Exactly, it's bullsh!t. You don't get a virus just by being in the same room with somebody. It takes a LOT of virus inhaled or on mucous membrane to get infected.

Oh, I see it also as unprofessional, but like it to see a doctor with a diaper, so I know which doctor will not be mine.

It's not the physicians and nurses' decision to wear masks. They are told by higher-ups what to do. I'm sure they don't want to wear them.
