Hello all, what about his leg?? I thought he told the emergency operator that his leg was hurting him pretty bad¿!!! If he was that close to the trail why didn't he hear the searchers calling for him?? Why didn't the dogs pick up his scent?? Its almost like he was taken away from there then place back on the trail after he passed!! What a horrible ending fir such a handsome young man!! My heart goes out to his family and friends!!!
How lovely that you have found a life's purpose that gives you satisfaction and brings closure and a sense of being seen to victims and their families. That is a gift you give, Bryan. I also have chronic fatigue from leukemia and I salute you for being able to create such youtube masterpieces not only for the families but also for all of your fans who watch and love your videos. Maybe, but parks, and US parks in particular, are statistically WAY safer than even the safest city of suburb. You are much more likely to go missing on the way to your local grocery store than while visiting a U.S. national park. And for the few who do disappear, probably not a mystery. People go off trail to pee, and after realize every direction looks the same, it’s that easy to get lost. Then add in falls, other accidents, a few animal attacks, drownings, a sudden medical event while miles from others, etc. A few criminals commit crime in the wilderness, but pretty rare. And it’s impossible to “search” square miles of wilderness. You can spot search, and sometimes people get lucky, sometimes they don’t.
Thank you for sharing these stories, I hadn't heard this one before. This one reminded me of another one about two older ladies named Amy and Jo, who went missing together and were later both found dead in the Craters of the Moon national monument in Idaho in September of 2013. Jo's last name was Blakelee. I would love to see you cover that one as well, as I think there are only two other channels on RUclips that have done so and I would love to hear your take on it, Bryan. Thank you so much for your work so far and what is to come.
Was that the tragic case where one died after being in contact with rescue but she was in a place that needed special equipment to get her out but before they could get it to her she succumbed?
So very sad . How close yet they couldn’t find him . What is strange is that he waited until it was dark to call . The rescue teams should have gone right out . Thank you Brian .
In Germany young Student Scarlett S. was backpacking in the Black Forest when she disappeared in Sept. 2020 on a trail called Schluchtensteig. A very popular and well investigated case. But still unsolved. You will find many pictures in Internet and videos from german television. Scarlett was experienced in travelling and hiking on other continents and had a boyfriend in China. Maybe this case could be interresting for your channel.
It's very good to hear from you again and my prayers are with you for your full and quick recovery. This is a tragic and very confusing story, and I can't imagine what his loved ones are going through. 🙏
Thanks Bryan for bringing us another awesome case. I feel so very sad for the Renoud family whom are now left with a deceased son and no answers whatsoever. It's not like this young man was new to hiking. He was well versed in hiking and the woodland. I pray they find answers one day. Also, I'd love to be included in your Yosemite giveaway. God bless
How heartbreaking for his family. He was so close to the parking lot. Tragic all the way around. Odd that the searchers mis sed him but ive heard of cases where searchers seemed to miss finding a person in an area that was searched more than once.
I have read that sometimes people are missed by searchers if they keep moving about (which is understandable when you are lost and panicking), which is probably why the advice is to stay put once you realise you are lost. As you say, it's very tragic that Lucas wasn't found much earlier on in the searches, and even more tragic that he was found so close to the car park.
Chances are he wasn't IN the area when the area was searched. He only got there in his last moments, after the search of the area had been completed and collapsed there.
Probably what happened. He was continuing to move around and actually was unintentionally avoiding the searchers, finally dying in a place that had already been searched.
Absolutely tragic. It's so incredibly baffling and frustrating hearing about these cases, when people so close to help aren't found in time. It's hard to imagine what his parents have gone through; my heart goes out to them.
Bryan, it’s so good to hear from you again. You sound better sending prayers for a full healing. This case is very sad that he would be so close and still lost his life 😢
One other thing. This case and a couple of others make me think that a VERY loudspeaker system playing something like a spoken word tape of the person's name which is less likely to echo in the car park might solve some cases. If the sound carried a couple of miles with bright WW2 style searchlights pointing into the sky this would have been enough to save this boy as he could have walked towards the sound and lights. There have been other cases were people are near the trial and it seems like a static sound system playing a constant sound could work as a sound beacon. This may be a stupid idea for some reason. I certainly understand it would stop people from hearing an injured person shouting for help. There are just so many cases that they are near but don't have anything calling them in. THANK YOU FOR THE EFFORT!
Interesting thoughts, perhaps there is a way they could be implemented without over riding an injured persons cries? Maybe intermittently playing the sounds?
It sounds like he tried to keep going, and got so close! But returned on a route that had already been searched in the first effort. 😢 May the family find solace.
This is heartbreaking. RIP Lucas.❤Condolences to his family and loved ones. So weird. I wonder what happened to this decent young man, who loved animals. So sad and senseless. 😢 Take care Bryan. I’m glad you’re feeling better. ❤Sending lots of Aloha from Honolulu. 🌺
Bryan, thank you for covering this very sad story. I hope that sometime the family can find out the truth about what happened to their son. I'm so glad that you are feeling so much better, and pray for a full recovery!
Bryan, you sound stronger. I watched a video of yours that was a year old and sadly I could tell the difference regarding your health just by the sound of your voice. I hope you can see past this trying period in your life and know that better happier days lie ahead and we can hear the old healthier Bryan. It's always so sad to see a young promising life snuffed out for no apparent reason. The mental and physical trauma Lucas had to go through is heart breaking. Someone on the other plane wanted him with them but of course he had no understanding of that until he breathed his last breath. He's joyously happy and contented now and watches over his family.
@@juulcy I know there is life after death. I'm not religious but believe in a Higher Power. Not talking about the biblical God. You have no proof of the opposite other than your beliefs.

Hi Bryan, I’m praying for you that you will make a complete recovery from the Lyme disease, I know it isn’t easy dealing with it. Take care of yourself and take things slow. Also, I’m interested in the coin giveaway. I think it is a beautiful piece to commemorate the history history of the national parks.
Dude glad I found your channel and sorry to hear about your health. I have been terrified of lymes Disease since I was a kid and one of my dads friends, who was huge body builder, got it and it destroyed his life. They have learned a lot since the early 90s but it is still a scary thing to get. I moved back to the north east and I got into a drug trial for the new vaccine they are working on. Its called valor and I am in the 3rd and final phase of the drug trial. Here is to your health brother, I hope it continues to improve!
Thanks for the hard work you do to get out this information. I enjoy watching your stories and I'm sure the families involved appreciate your help. God Bless. NW ga.
As with most of your tales, Bryan, this tragic story has inexplicable elements that push it into the mystery category: body found so close by but not tracked by dog, drone or man. Victim hopelessly lost and disoriented. Emergency dispatch doing their best but perhaps compounding the problem. By the looks of the SAR people, they and the gendarmerie were competent but not hopeful after 2-3 days of a positive outcome. Thanks for your research on a European case. People are lost all over, not just in our beautiful wilderness in America.
Thank you so much for all you do. You are such a loving caring person and we love you and support you. Please take care of yourself. I will keep you in my prayers. God Bless you ❤

Love your videos! It makes you think of all the different scenarios that can help in the wild. I would love to be entered in the Yosemite coin. how do bodies get missed? b/c its really hard to find them. have someone hide a backpack in the woods and you try and find it. you'll be shocked how hard it is to actually find them.
Is it perhaps possible that Lucas was still alive during the search and was initially far from the trail, but did manage to get back close to the trail before whatever caused his death? My heart goes out to his family.
You cannot get far of the trail, 100m left and right from that "ravine" are busy roads going. It's not really well presented here, but that's actually not a trail as such, it's an easy 1.5 mile loop taken by tourists of all ages with all sort of shoes, from flip flops to sneakers
I've just left a similar comment but I hadn't read this far down the thread. I agree with you, it's plausible. I'm giving your comment the like I would have had I saw yours before writing mine ✌️
My take: he somehow managed to slip and fall, hit his head and became unconscious. Woke in the nighttime and made the call to 112 but ultimately died from the internal damage/whatever the initial fall did to his head and brain. It is possible to hurt the brain without leaving marks on the skull. No matter what happened though, it's a tragic case.
Hey Brian,,Thanks ,another great video you have produced....That is a true mystery...the weird part is didn't they call out on a bullhorn surely being that close he would have heard them,,,unless he had passed already, but based on his phone call he was still alive when they were near him,How sad is that,,,....My prayers to the family...
Great video, with a tragic outcome. My heartfelt regards to the parents, for some information and explanation to ease their suffering. May the young Mr. Renaud R.I.P. I would like to toss my name in for the coin give-away. D.D.Hunt
Let this be a lesson to everyone who goes into the wilderness. Never ever separate from those you are traveling with. There are so many cases of missing people that end up dying or are never found after separating from the other people they were hiking with. If you do go into the wilderness or our national forests, please carry a GPS device. If you are in the U.S. always carry a firearm and know how to use it. The statistics of people that go missing that have both a personal GPS locator and a firearm is almost zero. You have no idea what is out there and the National Parks Services in many countries are not telling us.
I would love to see a video about the people who find their way out, are found alive and well, or have somehow escaped a lost scenario. I want to know how they survived, how they escaped dangerous situations… and what they did to get themselves in that bad situation! If anyone knows of videos like that please let me know.
@@davidwilliams7552 Its not relying on GPS for navigation. I agree. Anyone who goes into the wilderness without knowing how to use a map and compass is not fully prepared. It's the electronic tracking of the GPS and being able to relay your exact location to SAR in a time of emergency that is the key. In addition, if you ever do go missing, the GPS locator can help rescuers and authorities track your movements even long after you have gone missing and the locator is found. The information can be downloaded more accurately then a cellphone and can, again, aid in figuring out what happened to you. Is it the be all, end all of technology that will keep you safe, No, of course not. It is a fact that people with a GPS locator are far less at risk from going missing and never to be found. The data is clear on this.
We don’t need a nanny. This young man got lost and died because he is an idiot in the wilderness. I never take a GPS, I often hike alone, because I know what I’m doing. Why do you blather on and put everybody in the same category. Really we don’t need someone telling us what to do
Hi Bryan, glad you're feeling a bit better. Love your videos and content. Hope this young man's family will get some kind of Closure and may Lucas Renoud rest in Peace. I'd like to be entered in to the Coin giveaway. Look forward to seeing your next video.
Bryan, I am praying for your recovery. I love listening to your videos. You are such a kind and caring person. Keeping these cases alive certainly helps the families. I look forward to helping to support your channel. 6:18 God bless you!
These cases of young fit and capable people dying in national parks is distressing. I find it very odd that he was so close to the trail, close to the parking lot, and yet the tracking dogs failed to find him. Moral of the story is NEVER separate, and carry a GPS tracker. A tragic loss of a bright young man who would undoubtedly have been an asset to his community.
Id like to be entered into your competition if at all possible ? as I'm in the UK....Hope you get well very soon. Enjoy all your shows, and keep up the great work, thanks Garry....
Really weird sequence of events..does remind me of certain 411 cases in the usa. As if people are receiving compelling thoughts to seperate from their party and get lost...to be found deceased much later. Really strange...Anyways..thx for this upload. Really kind gesture to give these coins away but dont forget to take care of yourself first Bryan..the world will still be there when you do.
I will add one more bit of advice. When going on a hike, you can pre-load maps of the hike area into google maps. That way you do not need a cell signal to have accurate mapping of your position. You just need the GPS signal for the phone to show where you are on the map.
I wonder if he had an allergic reaction to something? My body seems to hate me as of late, and I can eat and/or touch something that I have NEVER been allergic to but if I come in contact with it I get hives, my throat swells, my asthma kicks in, not being able to breath or swallow and my panic sets it. I appreciate the foreign (well to those of us in the US!) cases, I like knowing about others not commonly talked about, thank you!
Thank you! Not the first time someone was found next to the path after all that search efforts. Man trailer dogs should have been usefull to find a Person or a body. Maybe Health issue like Aneurisma or allergic shock reaction. So sad 🥀
Hope you feel better!! Thanks for your diligence in creating such well researched videos during this time, It's appreciated as are you ✌💛 *Edit- I'm a coin collector nerd & love hiking so if you'd add me to the list that'd be great 🤗
I have only just stumbled upon your channel. Great video and content Bryan! I also have chronic Lyme disease and wanted to wish you well on your journey. xo from Canada
Thats so strange. He had cell signal, and close to the parking lot, and its only 2 1/2 mile trail. . My thoughts are this if your able to get a cell signal, stop moving and let them come to you. If two bodies are traveling through space they each have a better chance of finding each other if one of them remains still. Thats simple physics, and the study of odds. But to parish 30 meters from civilization. Thats hard to swallow, .
What a handsome, clean cut looking young man 💔 Condolences to his family and friends.

Really we don’t need someone telling us what to do
thank you! well done!
What lovely young man so very sad. Can't imagine what the family feels. God Bless
Hi Bryan, glad you're feeling a bit better. Love your videos and content. Hope this young man's family will get some kind of Closure and may Lucas Renoud rest in Peace. I'd like to be entered in to the Coin giveaway. Look forward to seeing your next video.
Another great video
Bryan, I am praying for your recovery. I love listening to your videos. You are such a kind and caring person. Keeping these cases alive certainly helps the families. I look forward to helping to support your channel. 6:18 God bless you!
This is a very unusual strange case. I am stunned at the attitude of the authorities. Prayers to tge family of Mr Renoud.
I’m French and have walked these trails many times and nothing ever happened but obviously and sadly it wasn’t the case for Lucas.
You are the best!
This one was CRAZY!
What a tragedy in such a gorgeous park :(
These cases of young fit and capable people dying in national parks is distressing.
Your videos are truly helpful
Very strange. If he was that close, you'd think he'd yell for help, or he'd hear others calling out for him.
I was going to say welcome back but I see you posted recently and I missed it! Glad to see you posting. Thank you and hope you are doing well. 💛
I love your stories and all your facts in the history of events. Your you tube posts are amazing. You do a great job
I'm not understanding why this man walked away from the group?? What is causing people to do this??
cover up by the local authorities for sure
Idk about that, It just sounds like straight negligence.
This breaks my heart 💔💔💔 poor boy, utterly heartbreaking 💔
Love your videos!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤
I will add one more bit of advice. When going on a hike, you can pre-load maps of the hike area into google maps. That way you do not need a cell signal to have accurate mapping of your position. You just need the GPS signal for the phone to show where you are on the map.
Very odd. Something is fishy here
I wonder if he had an allergic reaction to something? My body seems to hate me as of late, and I can eat and/or touch something that I have NEVER been allergic to but if I come in contact with it I get hives, my throat swells, my asthma kicks in, not being able to breath or swallow and my panic sets it. I appreciate the foreign (well to those of us in the US!) cases, I like knowing about others not commonly talked about, thank you!
☺️Hey Bryan, hope you’re feeling better.
Very sad, RIP Lucas
So sad. The authorities should have searched longer and better.
Thank you! Not the first time someone was found next to the path after all that search efforts. Man trailer dogs should have been usefull to find a Person or a body. Maybe Health issue like Aneurisma or allergic shock reaction. So sad 🥀
Hope you feel better!! Thanks for your diligence in creating such well researched videos during this time, It's appreciated as are you ✌💛
*Edit- I'm a coin collector nerd & love hiking so if you'd add me to the list that'd be great 🤗
Bryan you Pronounce French very Well 👍
Ppl need to be taught to stay out when they realize they are lost!! Oh you just said the same thing! This is weird, how close he is!
Good video, keep it up buddy’ 🖤🤕😁
I have only just stumbled upon your channel. Great video and content Bryan! I also have chronic Lyme disease and wanted to wish you well on your journey. xo from Canada
Ya, this sounds super suspicious 🤔
You sound better and alway look forward to a new case. I would like to be in the drawing
How could it be that being so close to the trail and parking lot, no one heard him call for help. It makes no sense. This is a strange story.
Exactly, that short loop (not really a trail) is so overcrowded, you will get attention when you yell
I am starting to think that there ARE voids and he walked into one. No other explanation really. Sending love and healing energy Brian.💗
Still praying for you Bryan.🦋🙏
