    Bryan, thank you for your heartfelt response to the atrocities that led to the person on this video. Your empathy shows through on every single video. Do take some time to heal, and don't worry about others. This is your channel, and people come here to not only learn about how people went missing, but about them as people. That's where your character shines through.

    Never ever go into the woods without a firearm. People must learn that they have to be able to take care of themselves from predators - be they two legged or four legged. If you value your life, be prepared to defend it.

      I have never understood it either. When I turned 18 I got a rifle and have never hiked or camped without it. Now, I take my pick of what to carry. But I never go without one. Same with a radio. And now the latest is SPOT-X - an affordable satellite location tracker and texting device. Even if I go down from a heart attack and am unconscious SPOT-X will auto transmit my location via text to any numbers I have programmed in, including 911 SAR. Wouldn't think to go afield without the rifle or the satellite comm device, and especially in bear country, a .338 Winmag. Good luck. Stay safe.

      Solo hiking is safer than driving a car as long people don’t do really stupid things. I feel safer alone in the mountains than anywhere in the world. I’m a rape survivor and have been sexually assaulted countless times in the form of grouping from strange males in cities, in public most of the time. I have been sexually harassed countless times by males everywhere from grocery stores to exercise classes. Taking my dogs or going without them on hikes is more freeing than anything in the world to me. It’s an amazing escape from violent men and all the trauma I have experienced in my life and continue to experience. I have never been sexually harassed, assaulted or raped in the woods, only in the city surrounded by people. Carrying weapons of choice different kinds is important for anywhere we go, so of course that includes camping/hiking.

    • @threefreaksonaleash6619
      @threefreaksonaleash6619 2 года назад

      I will add that we don’t all have the privilege of having friends to hike with often or at alll. Also, hiking groups can have predators or just not be convenient for everyone, not to mention some introverts don’t enjoy it because we thrive off our alone time with our passions.

      While Hilton was convicted for four murders, he is suspected in at least 65 other National Forest murders that have occurred in the Southeast. All share the distinguishing traits of the way he disposed of the bodies by decapitating/dismembering the hands then putting the body in a ditch and covering it with sticks and branches and also using his victims’ bank cards. His primary motive was robbery but he was known to rape some of his victims.

      Carry wasp or hornet spray, it sprays out seventeen feet and is nasty to encounter. When hiking it is always important to hike with at least another person or more and carry a knife at all times.that is part of the "ten essentials" used by savvy outdoors persons. Hornet spray has a longer reach then pepper spray and will stop any living thing, haven't tried it on bears since the local ones don't bother us. We live where bears do as well. Safe travels to you and check out the recommended safety equipment found in sporting goods stores , The National park Service, the best defense is education and preparation, and hike with a buddy or two. I personally carry a Buck knife as well as my Dad's WWII issued knife, but I always hike with others. See you on the trails!

      An extremely difficult tale of evil to tell and Bryan you told it so well, with heartfelt empathy for the victims and all who knew and loved them. It is difficult beyond words for decent people to imagine what goes so awry in someone’s mind that they freely and even happily could terrorize another human being. There are some vile people in this world , some of whom are masters of manipulation. Some serial killers are described as charming even. People write to these killers that have been imprisoned. Please don’t let your compassion for people get you down. It won’t help them and will make it progressively harder for you. Thousands upon thousands of people listen to you because they like and respect your thorough, empathetic reports. Those who criticize are insecure souls, people l feel sorry for. Going through life bitter and angry must be a living hell for these folks. Continue to rise above them as you always do and stop apologizing as you have nothing to apologize for! A fan. 👍

    Hey Bryan, I enjoy our videos so much . They give me a break on days when things get monotonous,...especially during the COVID restrictions...not to mention the valuable tips you give on hiking and surviving in the wilderness. And I like that you speak normal, like someone having a conversation...not like an actor reading a script. We can get that anytime on TV . Keep up the good work!!

    This is a great channel, Bryan. It's so obvious that you're speaking from your heart and truly care about the victims and their families. It doesn't matter if you stumble over pronouncing some of the 35 letter names of American locations. They're difficult, if not impossible, for most people to pronounce.... Then you're told you mispronounced it anyway.... "That's not how we say it here." That's happened to me many times! Lol. So don't think twice if you mispronounce a person's name or the name of a location on the map. What matters is the content and the spirit in which it's presented, and you're a 100% winner🏆where it counts! You're bringing to light stories of incidents and people who need to be remembered, and that's everything good in my book! God bless you, Bryan! You're a great presenter and we all love to hear the stories you bring to us. Thank you!

      Please don't feel like you need to apologize for anything!! Your channel is awesome & so are you ❤.
      The time you invest in researching the actual facts of the story is obvious to any educated person. You have vast knowledge of the subject matter and any back stories and it shows through as you talk about them. Much love & respect,

    Hi Bryan, I have been subscribing for a while now, and I was instantly drawn to your channel because of the tone of your voice. I work in the field of mental health and addiction and have come to realize that content of what people say is always secondary to how people say it.
    I love how you invite us to share in the grief and loss of others through recounting their life narrative and offering prayer and remembrance. It is important that we share in the sorrow of others, empathy is important to cultivate, and you help us with that. That is heavy emotional labor.
    I have rarely had insomnia, but until I had the experience, I had no idea how excruciating the condition can be. Thank you for your commitment to this body of work that you have constructed out of your own suffering.
    Warm regards, H.

      Thank you for that very kind and personal comment! I really appreciate it! And yes unfortunately with my foot being broken(getting better) my insomnia has been bad and I'm often up in the wee hours of the mornings making these videos, so yes I know I sound tired sometimes, which is why I explained at the end and thanked people for their understanding.. yet some rude people were saying oh he's drunk.. which did upset me because for one I would never make a video while drinking and 2) I don't drink. It's amazing how people judge with absolutely no knowledge or proof.. Anyway, I really appreciate your kind feedback and sharing your thoughts and thank you for being a member of the family🙏

      @@flirtybunny3362 thank you, yeah actually I'm trying not to take any medicine but just think of how people sound when they first wake up. I've been suffering such insomnia that I've been beyond exhausted.. and honestly I didn't even Want to make this video because it was so upsetting but it was one of the highest requested. Part of it was me struggling to tell this horrible story. It just makes me so mad that this coward did these horrible things. And I also didn't want people to be scared to go hiking. But at the same time I was very disappointed with the ex cop who saw this man with a police batton and just thought it was a man and daughter.. who the heck carries a police batton on Trail? Idk the whole case was just very upsetting. Thank you for understanding and your mind feedback🙏 I really appreciate it!
