I’ve heard you talk about people’s criticism of certain issues on your channel. Personally I enjoy that your dialogue isn’t scripted to perfection and that you allow your imperfections to be seen and heard…we are all imperfect humans after all. Your respect to the victims and family can be felt deeply. You seem to have quite an empathetic soul. Keep doing what you’re doing and thank you for this channel.

You are always so kind and respectful, sometimes I don't even know how to respond. Like the moment of silence.... you make me cry, and want to hug you at the same time because you're just so sweet and gentle. Your treatment of each of these cases, especially this one, touches me very deeply, and I really don't think I'm the only one who feels that way. And PLEASE know that although most everyone else who covers these cases does it with a level of respect, I have found NO ONE who covers them with the level of respect and kindness that you do. God bless you and keep you safe, Young Man.🙏❣️

After environmental tragedies that affected the region where I live, and not a peep in the news, I no longer trust mainstream media. I always had a healthy scepticism anyway, but that was the complete end of my trusting them.

I don’t watch much local news but do remember seeing it on a news feed not too long ago. I too remember this case- I was young (grade school) but remember thinking how pretty these women were and how sad it was that somebody had killed them. Seeing this also brings up memories of other tragedies here in Colorado that never were solved. Just so sad.

I'm sorry Brian if this upsets you because clearly you are a very kind and compassionate man. I'm a new subscriber and I've been impressed with the way you present the cases. But I must say, I hear you apologizing over the comments of people criticizing your presentation, or what ever they can come up with. In this video for example, you apologized for the grainy pictures you used because someone complained. The original photos that I really appreciate you taking the time to use! These commenters are taking advantage of your kind personality. They know they can get a response out of you when they complain, so they do. It's childish and disrespectful.. They aren't being kind towards you as you are to the people you discuss and to people in general. They are clearly misusing the comment section, not to criticize the story or the victims, but aiming their propensity to throw jabs at you instead! I find it difficult to listen to the apologies your willing to make to all of these supposed "compassionate" listeners. Comments are one thing but criticizing they way you present which Is EXCELLENT in my opinion, is really frustrating to listen to. I love your videos, your voice and your presentation. I hope you will consider perhaps not apologizing or responding to these negative people anymore. Keep making videos!

Bryan's video stated that the husband of one of the victims wouldn't get into a car with a stranger. but he also had a firearm. so he forced her into the vehicle? there's small chance that the killer hadn't known the victims in passing. he probably had them on his sick radar for awhile. and then watched from the sidelines as the local cops bungled the case. I live in a small town too and have watched this sort of thing myself. check out some of the cases from Humboldt County Ca. or Curry Co. Oregon. all over the PNW in fact. it's a sad tragedy but finally being solved after 40 years is a good thing. I have seen this case on other sites for years. hopefully other cases can be solved from this. this creep had icewater in his veins I'm sure. no doubt a real sociopath and these couldn't be his only crimes. too bad this bastard will die in prison after a year or two like other cases similar to this. at least he was exposed to the world for what he did which is the greatest fear of the natural sociopath.

While the killer's rescue still seems an unfair cruelty compared to the lives of those two young women, it also means that he lived to one day be caught to pay for his crimes, however much too late. There are many cases where the perpetrator escapes justice here on earth before being discovered and proven guilty and while it could be reasonably argued that he could have been found sooner, there is much to be thankful for that the families, for all they've been through, have been able to see him caught.

The only advice I could give was to watch out for the word "and" at the beginning of your sentences. It makes sound like you're rambling on. Try using other words like 'also', 'but', 'so', etc. or just nothing. This will upgrade the quality of the story. I see you're channel is growing and I'm glad for it. Very well done, I so enjoy them! ATTENTION Bryan, PLEASE READ, THANKS.
I truly do understand your sentiment of horror and disgust at the very sad loss of two young women and attempting to prevent these horrific crimes is my sole reason for living but Bryan, until you, I and the rest of us educate ourselves as to just how our minds actually work IE our behaviour which is created and determined via our OWN UNIQUELY DEVELOPED INDEPENDENT physiology we will never prevent this horror from happening to even more people.
Blindly saying how horrible it is, is as ineffective as saying how bad perpetrators are. We need to remember, if we have prevented a perpetrator from existing in the first place then we have prevented the crime from existing. Tougher laws don't work. The death penalty actually creates more murders, because if you are going to be put to death for a crime then eliminating anyone who can report the crime becomes an absolute necessity. More time behind bars is stupidity because it prevents nothing but further cost to the poor taxpayer. THE ONLY THING THAT WORKS IS THE REEDUCATION OF SOCIETY, TO STOP CREATING THE VERY CRIMINALS IT HATES HAVING.
A bigger brain will always defeat a bigger muscle.

I'm doubting he just killed twice 40 years ago and then stopped. Unfortunately I bet there are more victims. It's so awful.

At the time I hitchhiked a lot myself and it's such a shame that we as humans lost this freedom because of distrust in each other. Yet again it proves that of all God's creations humans are the worst.

I’ve always been told never ever hitchhike. I do remember reading that a lot did it back then. Serial killers loved that too. Like Edmund Kemper, Donald Gaskins, William Bonin, Ivan Milat, & Patrick Kearney/David Hill. Santa Rosa Hitchhiker Murders that were never solved. I may have forgot some.

@@denal0u yes..if you were a killer and an interstate trucker you had a golden age. But if you just think about it..where does his go to as a society? My mother told me that in the 50s and before most people didn't lock their doors. What did change in people that caused this fear all of a sudden. I think it is not that simple to say that poverty made people commit crimes against each other. Not every poor person is a criminal..Such a shame that evolution in that aspect does not work in the other direction. ..

    * They expunged past charges, IF HE/SHE " WERE CAUGHT". [ Anything in the past is irrelevant for lesser charges. Anything current is absolutely relevant. ]
    * I got a bruise from hitting/tripping and hitting the car, truck or suv after taking a whizz.
    * Picked up innocent victims, hitch hiking to get to work.
    *An orange sock was found.
    *Classic murderer and rapist.
This is another reason why it is very hard to trust anyone here and I AM a Colorado native. I hope the best for anyone watching this. It's terrifying to know how anything and everything has changed here.
Be safe in your travels, camping, hiking, flying, driving and just being yourselves. This freak has NEVER been caught. Good natives here know that freak has never been caught and held truly responsible.
My heart and prayers go out to the victim, victims families, friends and communities, anywhere.
    Love each day.

It makes you Wonder Why the LE didn't connect these Ladies with the Man they rescued that night?? It would have to have been during that time frame I believe. That is why He was trying to leave the area without being seen. Great Video and Thank You Bryan. Hope Your Foot is Better. GOD BLESS!!!

Ikr? It’s so stupid. It’s disturbing the hundreds and hundreds of videos I’ve seen over time, where it often comes down to poor police work (or no police work). We should all be worried about that.

It wasn’t unfortunate that he was rescued….if he hadn’t been they never would of been able to finally nab him. EVERYTHING happens for a reason. Everything. That one in a million chance of spotting the truck brought justice many years later

Its fascinating that he knew SOS. Even in the 70s 80s.
And the pilot too who caught it. The irony of this puke being afraid to die is not lost!
He gets saved while two young ladies perished at his hands. Yup. Thank God!!!
Its great that science has been able to and continue to catch up to these vile fungus.
With so much advancements and solved cold cases. I have to wonder if he knew his time was running out.
Hopefully he receives life. No matter how long it is.
    Good job!
Thank You for the story and update... 👍😁

I am really envious of people who lived in a time when they didn't see a threat around every corner and under every rock, when that innocence was usually rewarded safe outcomes. I was born in 1971 and I should have been a beneficiary of a more innocent and safe time, but I had paranoid parents and I am now a paranoid adult. Whenever I hear a story that starts with a girl hitchhiking it makes me feel sad and angry, they had every right to assume that the ride would be uneventful and they would just get a free ride. I don't know why, I know murder is horrible, but knowing that this disgusting human just sat back and watched this poor man deal with the loss of his wife and then to have the threat of arrest and prosecution hanging over his head like the sword of Damacles and he said nothing, that makes it so much worse! It reminds me of the Vicky Wegerle {not sure of the correct spelling of her name} case. She was a victim of BTK, but no one realized that for years and years, the police thought it was her husband. It was not until BTK reemerged that the murder was connected to him. It has been a while, I may not remember exactly, but I think he was arrested, but later released, they could never make a case against him. However, the police made the public think he was guilty and the accusation destroyed his life and the lives of their poor children. By the time the police went public and cleared his name, it really didn't make much difference, the damage was done, much like the poor husband in this story. Unfortunately, while there will be lots of people who will feel horrible about how they treated him and may try to reestablish a relationship, but there will always be people who will think these men are guilty and got away with murder because most people lack the small amount of humility needed to admit they were wrong and to ask for forgiveness. Anyway... thanks for another great video!
