You're very welcome!
Hey bro in my laptop the c and D drive shows bitlocker encrypted. And if I delete the d drive then would it create problem??
What a simple but effective solution! Much appreciate it🙂
Glad it helped!
how do you move unallocated space from Disk 0 to Disk 1 with two "healthy recovery partitions" on Disk 1 prior to "c" drive which is what i want to expand??
its not possible to move Disk 0 to Disk 1 as they are two different components ... its like saying "how to convert rtx 3050 to rtx 4090 without changing the graphic card"
I have tried the same as you explained but the option of my C drive is,nt enabled
Thank you for clarifying exactly! I am here after downloading third party apps and failed. This worked properly!
Thanks, I can't believe this could be this much simple.
You're welcome!
I tried doing this since my drive c was full and my laptop was very slow but when I went to shrink the other drive and enter the values and hit next it just keeps loading and does not create a partition.
whats the solution ?
Sir ples help me that i couldn't copy my files in d drive that is xic files and to paste those in other drive
My D drvie is having 170 gb free space but when i am opening shrink volume it is only showing 5238 mb availbale to shrink what can i do now?
I have 256 ssd drive and i wanted to tranfer computers memory space what should i do!?
Wow. Ty for this valuable info. I cannot tell you how much this is appreciated… 🙏
Glad it was helpful!
Does it work with extending D drive as well??
Very useful tips.
Instead of deleting D drive to extend C drive capacity, can you use the allocation space in I drive to extend the C drive
It will not work i tried ,, windows doesn't show the extend option in this case
It will not work i tried ,, windows doesn't show the extend option in this case
I did everything thing as you guide. But the thing is that my extend volume button is disabled and can’t extend c drive. Its my windows 11 and tried with few software still cannot do that. Do you have any other options??
delete drive after c driver (make Shure you get backup of all data ) and follow my video bro
You should follow his video correctly.
If you try to extend the c drive using another drive except d drive you cannot do it.
I am also facing the same problem there is no coming option of extend volume in c drive
@@mdibrahimsheikh1680 same problem with me... I'm using windows 11...
@@mdibrahimsheikh1680 same problem :(
why do we need to move the D drive data to the I drive and delete the D drive? Can we not use the unallocated data which we got in the first step (Shrink D drive) to expand the C drive?
we delete d derive to Shrink C drive
we need unallocated space next to the drive which we are going to expand.
it was really helpful, appreciate your help!
Glad to hear that!
Thank you, simple and solved the problem , thumbs up

Its not working in my PC
there is 740 Mb Healthy (Recovery Partition) in between c drive and unallocated data. So, whenever i try to right click on c drive it does not show extend volume option. Please Help :(
my suggestion is use MiniTool Partition Wizard its free its move 740 Mb Healthy (Recovery Partition) at end of your hard disk it's simple to use
Hey, can you help me with this I can't get shrink space to 100gb it's restricted to 7234mb only approximately 6gb
The size of available shrink is restriced to 7318 mb only
How can I increase this ........
The available shrink space for a partition is determined by several factors, including the amount of free space on the partition and the presence of unmovable files. Here are a few steps you can take to potentially increase the available shrink space:
Free up space: Delete unnecessary files and programs from the partition you want to shrink. The more free space you have, the more room you'll have to shrink the partition.
Defragment the partition: Fragmented files can prevent the operating system from moving them, which limits the amount of available shrink space. Run a disk defragmentation tool to consolidate the files on the partition. Windows has a built-in defragmentation tool that you can access by typing "Defragment and Optimize Drives" in the Start menu.
Disable hibernation: If hibernation is enabled on your computer, it reserves a portion of your hard drive to store the hibernation file. You can disable hibernation and delete the hibernation file to potentially increase the available shrink space. Open a command prompt with administrator privileges and type "powercfg -h off" to disable hibernation.
Disable page file: The page file, also known as virtual memory, is used by the operating system as additional memory when the physical RAM is full. By default, the page file is located on the system drive and can limit the available shrink space. You can temporarily disable the page file to increase the available shrink space. Right-click on "This PC" or "My Computer," select "Properties," go to "Advanced system settings," under the "Performance" section click on "Settings," go to the "Advanced" tab, and click on "Change" under the "Virtual Memory" section. Select "No paging file" and click "Set." Remember to re-enable the page file after shrinking the partition.
Disable system protection: System protection creates restore points that allow you to roll back your system to a previous state. However, these restore points can consume a significant amount of disk space and restrict the available shrink space. To disable system protection, right-click on "This PC" or "My Computer," select "Properties," go to the "System Protection" tab, select the partition you want to shrink, and click on the "Configure" button. Choose the "Disable system protection" option and click "OK."
It's important to note that these steps may not always result in a significant increase in the available shrink space, as it depends on the specific configuration and contents of your hard drive. Additionally, shrinking a partition always carries a small risk of data loss, so it's recommended to back up any important files before making any changes to your disk partitions.
Great thank you for sharing this video! Very helpful!
Glad it helped!

I have a problem,
When i want to resize the C Drive it comes up with a warning saying:
With the action you selected, the selected basic disks are converted to dynamic disks. If you convert the disks to dynamic disks, you can not boot installed operating systems from a volume on the disks (except the current boot disk drive). Do you want to continue?
I can then answer
yes
or
no
what should i do? I'm afraid if i click yes something bad is going to happen.
in your case it's converting to dynamic disks don't do this
What should be the ideal memory space that should be allocated to c drive in 512 gb ssd??
And why should we do disk partition
Windows requires at least 20 GB, but at most doesn't matter. You can assign whole 512 gb of SSD only to windows or divide it into small parts.
Ideal way to use SSD is to install windows and other software's on it use a Hard disk to store other files.
why should we do disk partition ?
Most PCs come from the factory with a single partition on their hard drive, meaning that it shows up as one drive in the Computer window (as C:, typically). But keeping your data, applications, and operating system on the same partition can be risky because, if something happens to the partition’s index file (the file that tells your computer where the various pieces of your data are located), your computer won’t be able to boot up off that drive-and even if you boot up with a recovery disc or external drive, you won’t be able to access the rest of your data.
Partitioning your hard drive essentially tells your computer to treat portions of that drive as separate entities. If you keep your system and apps on a partition separate from your data (documents, music, video, and the like), the data will be easier to back up (because your backup utility won’t bother to copy the system and apps, which you can reinstall from the discs or redownload from an online source). In addition, you’ll be less likely to lose your data in an accident; and if you ever need to reformat and reinstall Windows, you won’t have to worry about restoring your data backups.
@@discoverAll nice explanation 👌
Theres no extend option in my drive C. Why?
Because we need unallocated space right next to the c drive like in the video then the extend volume will be enabled.
it is Very simply and easy way when you teach us how to do. Thanks brother.
You are most welcome bro
Can I extend my c drive with my new 14 tb external hard drive....if so how can I...my 14 tb is new nothing on it yet
NO
So basically I should forget about extending my c drive
Can the drive have files on it that you are shrinking or will you lose files?
shrinking is not lose file but in this case i want to merge D drive in c so i get back up of d drive & than delete that & than shrinking in C drive

at the last stage of this process extend volume is not available. what do i do now?
you can use free software like MiniTool Partition Wizard fond on net its easy to use & free

Same here
the extend volume box is not clickking its in grey colour ?
Solution 1: Extend/Shrink volume with DiskPart
1. Type diskpart to open the diskpart command prompt at the search box which next to the start button.
2. Then type the commands to extend/shrink volume in Windows 7/8/10.
list volume
select volume n (the "n" is the drive letter of the partition you want to shrink)
extend/shrink desired=size
For the ones who can't click on the EXTEND option even after having unallocated space: use this video ruclips.net/video/lO9hdVmQICU/видео.html
not showing extandvolume what to do next
Thank you so much jani love youu
Please reply me and give the solution of this problem ,becoz there is very important data in Local Disk D
disk manager
when i tap on C drive the extend volume is grey and unclickable . please help me
If the "Extend Volume" option is greyed out and unclickable when you try to tap on the C drive in Windows, it typically means that there is no unallocated space available immediately adjacent to the C drive, which is necessary for extending it. Here's what you can do to resolve this issue:
Check for Unallocated Space:
Open "Disk Management" by right-clicking on the Start button and selecting "Disk Management" from the context menu.
In the Disk Management window, check if there is any unallocated space on the same drive where the C drive is located. If there's no unallocated space, you won't be able to extend the C drive using the built-in Windows tools.
Create Unallocated Space:
If there is no unallocated space, you can create some by shrinking an existing partition (if available) on the same drive. Right-click on a partition that has free space you can afford to shrink and select "Shrink Volume." Follow the on-screen instructions to specify the amount of space to shrink.
Move Data If Necessary:
Sometimes, there may be data preventing the C drive from extending because it's not contiguous. In this case, you might need to move data around so that unallocated space is adjacent to the C drive.
Third-Party Partitioning Tools:
If the above steps don't work or if you're uncomfortable using Disk Management, you can use third-party partitioning tools like MiniTool Partition Wizard or EaseUS Partition Master. These tools often provide more flexibility in managing partitions.
Remember to back up your important data before making any changes to disk partitions, especially when using third-party tools. Modifying partitions can be risky, and having a backup ensures you won't lose your data in case something goes wrong.
