@@HyphonIn just Copenhagen you can make a day or two of walking the city, specifically Nyhavn, Frederik’s Church, Rundetaarn, Rosenborg + Amalienborg. Across the harbor you can get to Christiania, a freetown with little police surveillance, full of street art and weed, just don’t take pictures while there lol. There’s also a lovely botanical garden and the national gallery is incredible if you like that kind of thing. The meat packing district is full of restaurants to explore too! The city is jam packed of amazing things to experience.
Thank you Kwoowkerman and Kwoowkerwoman for reviewing my home city's top cuisine!! I haven't lived there for a while and always been kinda broke, so I haven't tried most of these, but this video has made me really excited to do that one day! One recommendation I have among the cultural staples in Danish cooking, is either one of the main traditional Danish Christmas dishes, 'Flæskesteg' or its variation, 'Flæskestegssandwich'. It's pork roast with the rind left on the cut, crackled, and served with boiled potatos, caramelized potatos and pickled red cabbage. Either of these are heavenly in my humble opinion, so I sincerely hope you get around to trying it yourself at some point :))
I live in Copenhagen and have been here for two years now. This video has made me appreciate the lost love I have for the city. This style of video was really well executed & it made me feel a certain type of way. Be careful, if you come in the summer you may never want to leave! ;)
Aaaah as a Dutch person who has lived in Copenhagen for 5 years now, you have really managed to hit up the right bakeries and gotten the 'right' pastries. My partner and I have been keeping a list of best coffee places and bakeries in town, and both Hart and Andersen&Maillard are in the top 5 easily!! 😍 If you ever return, the burgers from Kristinedal in the innercity are my go to, better than Gasoline Grill imo. Oh, and the big random building with the 'vape' on top, is actually a waste-to-energy plant, where they effeciently and safely change residual waste into heating and electricity. Plus they put a skislope and climbing wall on it, so it is usable outside of just having to look at it. So yeah, not the prettiest, but a really cool and green concept! 🙈
Amager Bakke is designed by the famous danish architect, Bjarke Ingels. When planning it, he wanted to have the chimney make "smoke rings", and was in talk with the inventor Peter Madsen about helping with creating the technology that would make it possible. Aaaand then Madsen committed what is probably the most notorious murder in danish history, so that cooperation stop before the technology was finished.
Denmark has decent weed as well. - It isn’t “legal” but we safe havens in certain parts of Denmark. I am from Sweden but my half brother used to go there all the time. - In Sweden that is jail time or heavy fines and confiscated tech, phones, computers, 8-12 months usually.
hey there, Adam from Denmark here. i am glad that you like our food culture i am happy about that our smørrebrød is an classic danish meal that almost everyone like. I love this, thanks for all the tips if we ever hit Copenhagen. I would highly recommend trying Budapest! I am half Hungarian and Budapest has come a long way and has a lot of great native and international dining opportunities.
Kev, I am so glad you enjoyed Copenhagen! I have lived there and the vibe, the food, the AIR, the nature, everything is really my favorite ever. I wish to go back
Honestly, I'd be curious to see your trip to Poland at some point! The pastries here are wonderful as well, so I have a feeling you'd find yourself a new favorite dessert lol
I'd actually declare (ever so boldly) that food in Poland compared to Denmark is much better. The quality in general is on a different level and price-wise much more attractive as a whole. The only food I find the Danish truly excel at are pastries and that's about it.
@@Hera4Ever1 As a dane that has a polish girlfriend and been to poland for about 15 times, "I'd actually declare (ever so boldly) that food in Poland compared to Denmark is much better." Is indeed a bold claim, because i think it massively untrue, many danish resturaunts use local sourced ingredients, ecological products etc, the whole new nordic cuisine is BASED on sustainable and seasonal produced food. I've been to Krakow, Warzawa, Gdansk etc and the only aspect i consider Poland better at in terms of food is asian food specifically Vietnamese and Taiwanese, and Vegetarian and Vegan options are much more abundant in Poland compared to Denmark weirdly enough. Polish pastry is chewy and mushy, and Polish cake is on the savoury / cheesy side, which i don't personally like. Is Poland cheaper? Yes, about 40%/50% cheaper to eat out in Poland, but Poland's food scene is not "on a different level" most good Polish resturants are hidden away in alleys, the popular ones near the main squares and popular roads are all tourist traps.
I’m danish and it was crazy to see this man walk around were i live, he went right past a path i usually take to school. I have somehow never eaten at most of these places💀💀💀
I love living in Copenhagen, it is so peaceful and nice. But yeah the weather is rough. The combination of cold, windy and humidity is hard. And plus the weather changes all the time, you never know whether to wear light clothes or winther clothes and if you underdress, the windy and cold humid air can really get to your body. And plus the sun never shines during winther.
Damn this is pretty cool! Have been living in Copenhagen for 2 years now and still haven't tried most of these. The thing that has blown me away so far are the cheesecake at Hart bakery. Unfortunately Copenhagen is very expensive, but it has some good vibes. The summer is a good time to visit. While the whole of Europe is having heat waves its the perfect weather here.
If you're into cheesecake, I'd recommend the eatery and bakery Seks. It was created by a Polish couple and they make the best cheesecake you will ever try in your life. I am not kidding. Otherwise, the prices in Copenhagen are what often bring me to a screeching halt when wanting to try different things. It's just way too much for what there is to ofter. I'd much rather spend that money in my home country where I believe the food is better quality and worth the price.
So much experience and life loving in just 80 hours is insane. It's so beautiful and outstanding,so warm through the grumpy weather. I like seeing this developed city
I really loved this video, so thank you for making it! But as a Dutchie myself I would love it if you could hype up our own food culture in the Netherlands and visit Dutch cities for a few days. Maybe Groningen, Nijmegen, Maastricht, Rotterdam, Utrecht etc.
I love your style of making videos, it's comforting, and refreshing to see how enthusiatic you get about different kinds of cuisines. Well, and you're also just really likable as a person :) thanks a lot for your content and keep it up!
This warms my heart to see as im from Denmark, though the weather is always cold and windy. And sometimes it is just weird, because it changes alot over short amounts of time.
It's because of our ridiculous amounts of coastline 😅 the whole country is basically seaside, bordered by more than one ocean. Coupled with no mountains and such for "shelter", that wreaks havoc with the weather 😅
Gothenburg, Sweden, is a must! The west coast is five-star, and Gotland is the crown jewel of Sweden in the summer. The food and everything there are right up your alley. I hope you do try to make it!
The building you could climb is actually just a powerplant, its nice they built it to allow even something so industrial to become a community space. Also, yes, you can just walk past noma.
As a Dane living i Copenhagen, you went to some of the better places for sure. There are many other good places, but I would recommend most of these places to other people. Good job. Glad you liked it!
I didn't make it to Hart, but I made it to another bakery near the Opera house and the cardamom puff pastry was out of this world! Sad you posted this days after I left, but I'm glad you enjoyed eating Copenhagen as much as I did!

The snaps is for taste cleansing the herring. Big tradition in Denmark. Very fun to get an outside look to my life as a danish person. I'm sorry you visited in windy season 🙏
Going to Copenhagen or some of the Islands (Bornholm, Fanø, etc) during the summer is an absolute must. The atmosphere, weather, and culture blossoms - there are a lot of people enjoying themselves outside and many great festivals Also you have to try the kebab on Nørrebro
I have lived in copenhagen my whole life so seing one of my favorite youtubers go around places, that i have seen and been was really fun. So great video❤
Hey bro, loved the video. Come back in june/july and the wind problem should be replaced by the best kinda summer. Not to hot, not too cold, and defo not wind like that :)

You did well, buddy. I am from Copenhagen, but I love to see it though different eyes. Come here in the summer instead if you choose to return. Copenhagen looks fine under grey skies, which is... a lot of the time, to be honest, but in the summer, this city becomes something else, even to a native like myself.
Yes, finally Denmark showing its great food…. Perfect. I hope you enjoy the “smørrebrød” But the smørrebrød you had, was not the “authentic “ ones you should’ve tried… that’s a shame. I wish you would visit Jutland some day and then I would show you the perfect food aswell. Cause those two parts of Denmark is quite different. You should try “pølsemix” aswell… 😃 perfect. (The Way you ate the herring, I never tried. It’s very different from how we eat it. We put a few pieces on a slice of ryebread (rugbrød) and then some “karrysalat” (directly translated its curry salad) and a few slices of egg.. thats a totally different experience. So come back some day and you’ll get a tour the “Jyde” way…. (Jutland is “Jylland” so us living there are called jyder)… See you 😃👋🏻 (come at summertime 😉
if you want copenhagen at its best you should come in july. the weather turns from windy to absolutely amazing, and all of the restaurants open up for outside service
You should definitely visit Capa next time you visit Copenhagen, but if you come to Denmark, try visiting outside of the capital, and I'm not saying you should go to the big cities only, but try some smaller once, and I bet that you have fans that would either love to show you around or even invite you home, so that they can show you more traditional Danish food 😊
You should've visited smaller towns in Denmark! Those small towns have local bakeries that do it 100x better than Copenhagen! Especially in South Jutland (Sønderjylland)! You should have tried "Sønderjysk Kaffebord". It's a traditional thing where you get a lot of different foods, cookies, pastries and more!
As some one that is a swedish person that lives near Stockholm, the food there is just so good, it would be fun if you decided to go to Stockholm for the food
I was in Copenhagen a month ago, I fully concur my fave city so far too. The Danes certainly eat well, tried smorrebrod all over the city but fave was in a charming traditional shop made by a middle aged Danish grandmas near the Christianborg Palace, also agree that Gasoline Grill is hugely disappointing, complete waste of a meal given so much more on offer. Surprisingly Tivoli Food Hall was banging, top notch food with plenty of locals. Surprised you didn’t include Freetown Christiana and their brownies 😜Big props for including the “Free Gaza” slogan near the embankment of Nyhavn/Danish Opera House.
