Some hidden places I personally tell people about: Cafe og Øl-Halle - Don't pay ludicrous prices for smørrebrød at Torvehallerne, go to Cafe og Øl-Halle instead where you can pay 280-300 kr for all-you-can-eat smørrebrød! After you're done eating, head into The Workers Museum right next door and look at some danish history. Reffen Street Food - Many people know it, but this really is a must-go place when visiting Copenhagen! Take the Harbour Bus over there after visiting the Marble Church for a more fun trip. Shawarma Grill House - The first shawarma place in Scandinavia (since 1980). Worth stopping by for some quick delicious lunch. Danish Architecture Center - Probably not for everyone, but if you love design and architecture it's definitely worth visiting. The Botanical Garden - Established in 1874, this is a beautiful place to take a walk with a coffee, and then go visit The Palm House and The Butterfly House afterwards.
Followed your advice and visited all the places mentioned in your video. Our thanks for the good suggestions, we had a brill time. Would highly concur with these suggestions.
Visited Copenhagen for 3 days in December '22 and although we loved it so much, this great guide really showed that we didn't even scratch the surface. Need to come back in summer and really get to know it properly!
Hahaha it made me laugh - in a good way - 4:44 when the typical lovely wind in Denmark blew the lady's napkin off the table TOGETHER with her pastry. Been there - love / hate of the wind here but hey, when you love CPH, the wind is less irritating.
We visited Copenhagen this weekend and manged to visit a lot of the attractions you mentioned and also took the opportunity to also visit Helsingor, we would not of even considered it without your video. Keep up the videos really appreciate the good advice.
Thanks so much for making this video. We did 70,000 steps in 3 days and picked up many of your suggestions. The best place for us was the Opera Cafe. Views were incredible!
Then you'll be going in October; That is a a bold choice, the weather can be good, or mostly good, or really bad. Dress for wind and rain and hope for a warm sunny late-summer.
This was a helpful video and the 72 hr Copenhagen city card is extremely useful, used it for Frederiksborg, Roskilde, Kronborg, Rosenberg, Amalienborg, etc and loved the handy public transport system across the capital region.
the botanical gardens, planeterium and glyptoteket are some of my favorite museums that i definetly think are worth checking out, I'm also from Denmark btw.
Hart Bakery also has the best sourdough loaf I have ever tasted in my life. It’s called a city loaf. Omg. To die for. Plain with just butter or toasted with cream cheese. 😊❤
Great video!!! I've only visited Copenhagen once so far but fell in love, mostly because I explored the city (and surrounding -- went to Frederiksborg Castle -- must visit Helsingor & Kronborg Slot next time!!) on foot + public transit, getting away from the touristy areas exactly as you explained how to do in this video. I even became a last-minute participant in the Royal Run (shortest stretch with all the children, haha). So much fun & can't wait to visit Copenhagen again :)
Great guide. Even though I grew up in Copenhagen and I currently live less than an hour away you managed to pack in a few nice spots that I have never visited. It's now on my bucket list to do a day trip or two there with my children.
Enjoyed your coverage Chris. I'm flying into your airport and country in 7 days from the USA. I am planning on checking out the areas that you profiled in your vlog so thanks. Oh yeah and I subscribed.
And if you head to Amager Strand then Den Blå Planet (The Blue Planet) Aquarium is also worth a visit. Btw. it's less that 2 km (about 1 mile) from the airport so in principle you could walk there upon arrival and make it your first stop if you don't carry a lot of baggage.
I was in Copenhagen mid of october this year and I absolutely fell in love with the city 🥰 the city is vibrant and the locals are really friendly. I got recommended to do the politically incorrect tours and I would highly recommend to check that out, if it is your type of humour. The guides are fantastic and know a ton about the city and its history. And the tour ist extremely fun. 🥰
Very nice city tips. CPH is one of my fav. Black Diamond Library coffee, next the Jewish Museum with panorama view is my tip. I was exhibited my art jewellery in Rundetaarn Gallery. My next tip is modern area around Bella Sky Hotel with close Metro Station. Most beautiful accomodation with apt. renting is a STAY Hotel Copenhagen with fashion shows on the roof thru Copenhagen Fashion Week..... From the airport is a closer thrip by train to Malmo in Sweden. Eurovillage is a new area for the fans of modern architecture with visionary aerodynamic Turning Torso by arch. Santiago Calatrava. This city have an unique esprit for the cooperative creative and green thinkers across all communities of CPH.
Great video. You should do an Aarhus-video too. Or maybe even a Visit Denmark outside Cph, with northern Jylland, westcoast, Lego area, islands of SydFyn, Wood tower…..
Thank you! I definitely should head over to Aarhus 🙌 This summer I've made videos about Elsinore, Svendborg and Bornholm - so there are a few more Denmark travel videos on my channel 🇩🇰
Used to live in the middle of Copenhagen 40 years ago, Just by the Queens house. 150 kr a month rent, stood on the Walking Street selling badges, ear rings and necklaces. also worked as a DJ in a few of the local night clubs. Moved out up north as the city became too crowded. Not many Danes could speak English back then. How things have changed.
So right about Strøget, especially in the summer (I never go further than Illums Bolighus). Strædet is so much more interesting with lovely shops like the ceramics of Ditte Fischer. Nationalmuseet is fabulous. Great shop and brilliant restaurant too.
Thanks for the tips! I’ve already done most of those places and I thought your comments were spot on! The Little Mermaid? Meh! Why not! I did that years ago when I came here for the first time! You cross it off your list and move on to the next item! Oh and you were right about Denmark being a very expensive country! Hahaha!
Thank you for this amazing, very informative video! I plan to visit next year (May or June 2025) as a solo female traveller. I'm going to re watch your beautiful video and make notes!

38 kroner for a "Thebirkes". I'm not sure if it's almost 4 times as good as the one I buy in Rema 1000 for 10 kroner (from a real bakery - not bake-off)

Thanks a lot! Hahaha, I guess we've both taken advantage of the 10/10 weather these past few weeks 😎 Looking forward to your video, you're doing a great job of showing Copenhagen on your channel. We definitely should 🤝
I must say, this video is excellent. You have no idea how many video's I watched and they all talk about the same thing. I do have a question. So I am coming next months solo for a week. Since I am coming solo, I want to find places where I can meet people, do a bit of socializing. I am not really into loud places, so no loud bars for me. Any recommendations for me? Thanks

We tend to be quite reserved towards new people here... Unless we're drunk 😬 I'm not sure how old you are, but maybe try hanging out at hostel bars - for example, the Generator Hostel in the city centre has quite a big bar with loads of different games (pétanque courts, shuffle boards etc). Copenhagen Downtown Hostel seems to be super popular too. The nearby Bastard Café is also super cosy, but I'm not sure if it's possible to meet other solo travellers in there tbh ✌️

it's absurd how many people crowd the mermaid when you can walk 18 minutes up the street and see MARMORKIRKEN! fun fact: marmorkirken was supposed to be way taller but they ran out of money. can you imagine if it had been taller? would have been crazy! but it's still Gorgeous
Not a bad video, but it missed the great museums that is also in and around Copenhagen. Plus of course lots more, but the museums - that was a mistake to leave those out.
