Thank you so much Sandra, that's really kind of you. Ah you shouldn't feel intimidated, I always feel that slow-stitching is so much more forgiving than what I call "real embroidery" and you can go a long way with just straight running stitches, my favourite. This scroll looks a lot, but I did a small section at a time, tacked on scraps of fabric, then just relaxed and took my time to add lots of stitching, but it was all simple stitching, and then I added the back to hide all my mess ("real" embroiders would hate my messy backsides!). For me, slow-stitching is meant to be relaxing and there are no rules, jut go with the flow and see how it turns out :)
This is SO gorgeous. Every bit as good as any of the others as you are all different in expressing the creativity that runs through your souls. It's diversity that makes us all the same but different.
That's so sweet of you to say Vanessa, thank you, such wise words too - it's always wonderful to see so many different responses to the same creative prompts, whatever the medium we're working in :)
It's absolutely a stunning piece. I had watched all them but was busy on another project and had a grandson that was always dragging the dig leash so I used the waisted of a pair of 36 jeans and stitched lots of fun things on it for him.
Thank you very much! What a brilliant idea to use the waist of a pair of jeans - I remember that one for future use, as I often recycle jeans but hadn't found a use for the waists, perfect! :)
Thank you so much Angela I really appreciate that. I love this whole slow-stitching thing, been sort of doing it for years but didn't know it had a name:) Do you share your work anywhere so I can have a peek?
I love your bobbin!! It is definitely art! My thrill at seeing color is through the roof! I appreciate and admire the neutral art pieces offered by other stitchers but my heart and soul are much more in tune with a colorful world. And you really used color to great effect on your bobbin, including adding it to the bobbin itself. This is my first time seeing your channel but I am an instant fan and subscriber!
Thank you so much for your kind words. I too am in awe of the beautiful pieces of stitchery I've seen online - I don't have that level of expertise but I've so much enjoyed just stitching and playing with colours. Thanks for subscribing too, I really appreciate it, I have lots of projects in the pipeline which I hope you'll enjoy :)
Really enjoying watching you create these lovely pieces Annie. Am feeling very inspired by the beads and the bunting, and hope to create some myself. The trims/fabric are lovely, tfs. 💖
I love your approach to the slow stitch bobbin project! And it turned out beautifully. I've been wondering how I would attach my long, narrow strips of slow stitching to a spool - now I know! Thanks for sharing. 😊
Thanks Sue :) I'm not sure, but I think Anne attached hers by using a drill and a couple of screws and I guess you could also use a staple gun or even glue it - I just couldn't decide which way around I wanted it so had to find a way to attach it temporarily and the ribbon idea was very easy to do! :)
Have just found your channel 😉👍 and I am looking forward to seeing what you make 😍 I have followed Roxy Creations for many years and just found Anne Brooke. Rachel and her sister and mom are doing a kind of tutorial of slow stitching and making a Fabric booki was looking for some inspiration and found your channel 😍 Thanks for sharing your ideas and I love what you have made 👏👏😍 Merry Christmas from Denmark 🎄 Tina 👩🏻🎨
Thank you, I have lots of slow-stitching and other kinds of projects in the pipeline for the new year, I would love to think they might give you some ideas and inspiration :) I will check out Roxy Creations too, it's wonderful how the internet allows us to "meet" each other and share ideas isn't it? Happy Christmas to you too, from Norfolk in the UK xo
Oops my comment was for your latest boho bunting piece, I must have pulled up the wrong video...I love everything you are doing anyways, tfs Annie...xxxx
Pretty! And I liked the way you colored your bobbin, esp. along the edge. I just discovered some videos on MacKenzie-Child's home decor that uses the black and white striping, dots, and checks. I was going to tell you that I added my Mary Engelbreit playlist to the front of my channel so that you would have easy access if you want to watch any of her videos.
Hi Dolores, thank you! I wasn't sure about it initially but it's growing on me :) And I will definitely check out that playlist thanks, I love Mary's ilustrations and can't believe I hadn't heard of her before you mentioned her.
@@artyfartyannie I have a collection of Mary's coffee mugs and tea cups and made a video of my collection. It will be in the playlist too. I also collect some of her other items like containers and tins and books she has illustrated. Perhaps it is time for another one of those videos.
Aw Thanks Cathy for saying that :) No I didn't back it at all, just added that ribbon with the keys to it to tidy it up - in fact I think that's where the spool came from in the first place.
This is fantastic! I love your rainbow idea 💕 every section of colour carries its own unique beauty, but my favourite is the green 😍 I love the boho beads and pom-poms! I’ve been doing the 52 tags with Anne…she’s amazing! I missed the bobbin challenge but I still want to do it. I’m really struggling to find a decent sized bobbin. What you’ve used looks perfect. Can you suggest anywhere I might try? Thank you 🙏
Thank you so much Jaqui! My favourite colour is rainbow :) Yes, Anne is a wonderful inspiration isn't she, and a great teacher too. I didn't buy my bobbin specially - it came as a reel of ribbon (the one I've used to finish the back in fact), I think it was a gift so I don't know where it came from. If I can find a link I'll come back and add it here.
Hi Jacqui me again, I've found some bobbins on amazon which might work, apparently other buyers have used them for "snippet rolls", embroidery and felting, though I don't think they're quite as wide as the one I used but I couldn't find anything like that. It's annoying that you have to buy 12, but they would probably be handy to have. Anyway, I'll put a link in the description box for you :)
hehe I did find I needed to limit the length of each section as it was hard to stop and I wanted to include all the bits and bobs I'd pulled out. Some people display them on a wall, with the bobbin at the top and the stitched part hanging down, which looks lovely, but you would need a very high wall if you end up with a 3.5m roll! :)
What a fab idea doing a colours of the rainbow scroll, love it.
Thank you Sandra - it saves having to choose colours too, I love them all! :)
Loved looking through your spool. It is beautiful, and I can just imagine how good all that texture feels in your hands. 😊
Thank you so much Leanne, that's really kind of you. Yes I do love the feel of it, that's one of the best things about it for me :)
Just rewatching this, it's fab, beautiful stitches. I feel intimidated alot by what others have created. It's gorgeous.

Yes of course Christiane, it turned out approximately 144cm long, not including the ties :)
@@artyfartyannie thank you 😊 I just have started with mine and I thought about 40- 45 cm for each colorsection😄
