Just ran across your channel. Slow stitching has totally helped me to stay calm in this crazy time! My sister-in-law crochets and has gotten rid of a lot of her anxiety and meds. My mom however is so used to doing everything "perfectly" in her creations. You know, straight turned under edges, even stitches etc. It is hard for her to just "let go". But thats her personality type and thats ok. She worries about everything and I thought this could help relax her a bit. Slow stitching suits my personality better. LOL Love to watch different sewers and their styles for new ideas. I have so many stamps and would love to use them more in my stitching. Thanks for the video!
Yes, I totally agree slow stitching really does help you relax. It is hard to let go of being perfect, but when you do it is so freeing. Thanks so much for watching. 😊🤗
Hey! I'm still here! Haha! Anyway, that's so amazing what you did. What you do makes me want to think outside the cereal box 📦 of making a journal and using up my fabric! My mind is completely blank on what I can do with it til I saw your videos on a way I can make something out of the things ! 🤣 thanks! I've been a bit under the weather . The bathroom was my best friend for a week. This weather doesn't help it either or my mood. It's been nothing but gloomy , cloudy, 🌧, and cold 🥶 for weeks! It's terrible! I hear you guys over there on the other end of me , are getting blasted and pounced with this weather but only worse! Flooding, mudslides .... the weatherman said that FINALLY, we're going to see this odd yellow ball called the sun 🌞 this weekend. Right. I'll believe that when I see it. 🤣 You're so cute sewing like that! 👍 I love your flannel 👕! Hope the rain goes away for you. Love your junk shop style craft room! That's my happy place 😁
Sorry to hear you were sick. Hope you are feeling better. Thanks for the compliment that means a lot. I am trying to incorporate me and my craft room more in my videos. Hopefully everyone will enjoy it. Trying to spice it up for the New Year! Believe it or not we actually hit 65 degrees here the other day, it was weird and warm. Lol 😆 Hopefully you see the sun soon. Thanks for watching. Glad to hear from you. 😊
I started slow stitching while recuperating from ankle surgery this winter. It's so relaxing, I even cut back on my depression meds. My doctor has even noticed
Somehow I stumbled upon your channel and I'm so glad I did. Your log cabin journal gave me a great idea for how to use some blocks I made years ago. Thanks for the inspiration. Wish I could post a picture!
Welcome, I am so glad you found me too. You can tag me on Instagram or Facebook I can see your pictures there. The links are in the description box below. Thanks so much for watching. 😊
Have you thought of mixing your acrylic paint with fabric medium? You can also thinly brayer the gesso on to a silicone sheet without watering it down. This make the hand of the fabric less plasticky. Very effective project . X
I’m a quilter too, so I have lots of fabric scraps and love to use them in mixed media projects! And I love how this slow stitching project releases one from the perception of perfection! Because in mixed media and junk journaling we find the beauty in the wonkiness and imperfection. Thank you for sharing!🪡🧵🖌🎨
Yes, I have collected up a “rats nest” is what I call it. Lol I can’t seem to throw it away. I need to make more videos of how to use it up. 😊 Thanks for watching.
Hello from Canada! Just found your channel. Love your slow stitch journal. Can't wait to try it! I started sewing again after I retired and lost both my mom and dad. I needed something to do and found it to be very therapeutic. Then I discovered junk journals. I love to use a variety of materials in my journals. ❤
Love it! I am working on a rag book right now and have done some slow stitching. I love that the imperfections are actually desired, exact work is not for me! :) I do want to make a log cabin cover, it's on the list of future projects!
Totally new here, you just popped up on my RUclips feed. Looks like I have found a new rabbit hole❤. Just wondering though, and I have seen this before, why do crafters/artists use gesso instead of white paint?
Welcome, so gals you found me. Hope you enjoy my videos. I have lots. Lol 😆 My take on gesso is it is a good to add down on a surface first it makes it less absorbent. Plus gives a nice texture. Hope this helps. Happy crafting.
