    I always did dig the old Trackers; primarily cause they used the same body shell as the Kyosho USA-1.
    I have a Kyosho QRC series Wild Dodge Ram, and the Tracker seems to share the stock wheels, so this is as close as I can get to seeing a 1990's style Chevy body on truck similar in size to mine.

    I bought one of these when I was about 13. It was more than half the price of the much cooler USA-1 and when I was about 13 years old, it was also the most expensive thing I'd ever bought with my own money. Still remember the feeling. Had lots of fun with it and just took it down from the attic to see if I can fix it up to shape to drive with my nephew who just got a car of his own. :)

    It actually reminds me a lot of my Traxxas Bigfoot with the stance and the way it runs plus they both had 550 motors . Harry needs to do a video showing his collection I’m sure that would be cool .

    I have a 1996 Kyosho product catalog. The car is described as a popular beginners monster truck, easy to assemble. The car "runs like a racingtruck while it looks like a monster truck". Mabuchi RS 550 SH motor, gear ratio 15:1. Rotary speedo.

    I got this when I was 15 so release date more close to 1993. I put a pink monster motor on it. The Transmission had ended up with stripped gears inside of it so I ended up changing it to a transmission from an Ultima that was belt drive. It was my 1st kit amongst friends with lunch boxes, black foots, midnight pumpkins and I felt like I was right there with them all! I advanced up to a Clod Buster.

    I remember these they definitely didn’t sell well at the hobby shop I worked at compared to the equivalent Traxxas Stampede we maybe sold the 2 Inital kits before replacing it with something else which is funny because we did sell a bunch of the Outrage buggies (Kyosho in general). It definitely was a good looking truck though our customer demographic was mostly racers (mostly on road) at the time or that new individual looking for a first RC car but even they usually went for something more race oriented like a RC10 or some sort of Touring Car like a TA02

    I think it might have hit around '94... but I will confirm. You're right though - cool truck, but largely ignored. Kyosho used to buy full-page, color ads in the back of Car Action, but nobody cared. It was dark days for Kyosho in those years... outside of the Lasers and Infernos, of course. This truck....it was like they tried to fill a void in the market by combining the Outlaw and the Big Brute. The Great Planes/Tower Hobbies overlords must have demanded a new direction or something. Kyosho seemed to be suffering an identity crisis in the mid-90's.... until they struck gold with the Mini-Z's..... AND THEN Jared Tebo came along, and they found themselves again....

    I got into RC and racing October 1996. At that time this Kyosho would have been in direct competition with the Traxxas Stampede. That is tough competition. Knowing Kyosho this one would have been much more expensive than the Stampede. And the Traxxas could be bought RTR. (The kit would only save you about $5) Just my guess as to why you don't see much about this on-line.

Hobby store said it was even more fun then the Tracker. Would have liked to have bought the Tracker also (looks great), could not afford both as an early teen making minimum wage part time. lol

      @@tallguygaming409 hey Harry I heard there is kind of a nightmare situation with the nickel metal hydrides you have to make sure they have enough power before they dump on you I've heard of people losing races because they didn't get a right amount of energy put into the battery and they fell short of the finish line and then they got passed by someone else who ended up dumping after they passed them so that's why I think you guys should think about using lipos I'm sorry I'm a broken record but I believe in him more than nims I do have a couple of names and I will be using them that they're 3600 and they're very heavy and if I use it in a hornet or a grasshopper they're possibly going to fall out of the belly because they're so heavy cuz the those things that hold the battery in the doors are known for letting those type of batteries drop so I'm always going to have to put duct tape to make sure they don't fall outbecause getting shapeways stuff is expensive to fix that problem.

      Brad, I only own 4 rc cars that I run brushless/Lipo in. 1- Traxxas E-revo 2.0. 2- Traxxas Mercedes AMG TRX-6. 3- Super Astute 4- Stealth converted King Cab. However, I'm in the process of swapping out the brushless set up in the king cab for brushed so I can run it on the track and in a race class. Also, I plan on selling both my Traxxas RC's. As for the Super Astute, I'm not sure about keeping the brushless set up in it. Cars that run on Brushless and Lipo are way to fast and hard to control on a track the size of the port royal raceway. I understand you can run brushed motors with Lipo but again thats not our thing. The name of the channel is RC-Retro. "Retro" as in we try to keep it old school. Plus our rules of the race classes all state "brushed motors" and "Nimh". I really appreciate your comments and support. Your are a loyal fan and watch every video and I'm super happy you enjoy the channel. However, you've asked about LIPO in other videos as well. I just wanted to give you an honest answer rather than just saying "NO."

I will admit I do have some nihms I will be using them they're 3600 mah but that's what I used to use when I was first got into the hobby that nightcats that's all I had available to me if I'm giving these particular types of matters that you like to use I will still have them and still use them but when it comes to me spending money on them I will be buying them anymore this is just my opinion just like I hate shelf queens and you know my opinion it's all up to you what you want to do I just feel to me that's a waste of money to do as and I do love watching the channel but I have to ask this have you ever watched my channel?

    • @tallguygaming409
      @tallguygaming409 3 года назад

      We race for fun not tryn to be competitive at all. Its all to hang out and have a laugh or 2. No need for more power the track cant handle adding lipo also we all own a bunch of nimhs not lookn to spend a fortune gettn new batterys for no reason. All our nimhs last long enuff and even longer then our 6 min races. We like doing old school stuff on the channel so we race on dirt like back in the day with brushed motors and nimh batts. Like this truck a couple of us have am radio systems in some of our cars. If you have a channel id like to see it but if i go on it to watch and most likely its a rc channel if i keep askn for you to play basketball im sure you will say thats not what my channels about.
