    Your trip reports are certainly a favourite. As an aviation enthusiast, i really appreciate the time you take to explain the aircraft technicalities at their corresponding stages of flight. This includes flap settings at takeoff/landing; type of takeoff i.e., rolling take-off; landing i.e., idle reverse/full reverse; alongside the rest of the flight manoeuvring. It is very engaging to read these whilst watching the videos, as well as the non-technical aspects including IFE variety, meal services and other important selling points of the flight :)

    I last flew VS JFK-LHR in Jan 2020 (almost 2 years ago to the day) on the A350. I have also flown Virgin at different times on their A330, B747 and A340-600 aircraft -all in economy, although I was upgraded to premium economy on their A330-300. No matter, they have always provided a wonderful experience with top notch service. I'll be honest, on the New York - London route at least, they are very comparable to and competitive with BA, albeit a younger, hipper version of their main competitor. You can't go wrong either way, in my opinion, especially for a 6-7 hour flight.
    I have to add that the VS A350 was one of the best experiences I have ever had on any transatlantic flight. In addition to the amazing Virgin service, the A350 is very quiet, very spacious, and had the most up-to-date catalog of movies and tv shows I'd ever seen on a plane with an industry-leading IFE system. The tail view and gear view cameras on the A350s round out the avgeek experience. This is truly a marvel of an aircraft.
    Glad you had a great Virgin flight! Pilots of British airlines always seem to give more detailed information than those of other countries, I've noticed this before! And I've never heard a FA use the word "nippy" though...I would avoid it in case of accidentally mispronouncing it (see Clark Griswold, Christmas Vacation.)

    • @TheLayoverAviation
      @TheLayoverAviation  2 года назад +1

      I think they are just unique. Their size permits it. And it was obvious to me that everyone is hand selected for their personalities. You made me think of VS and want to fly them again!😃
      Wish I could have flown on their B747 and A340-600’s like you..

    Awesome review as always! Loved the different details and design Virgin Atlantic has onboard from their packaging to products :)

    • @TheLayoverAviation
      @TheLayoverAviation  2 года назад +2

      The whole Virgin Atlantic branding is showcased in every single experience, I love it. It makes them very unique. Real trendsetters.
      Regarding engaging with crew, I’m lucky to find it easy to engage with others. And I’m sure that when crew, or any other professional realize that when you have genuine interest in their profession they are more then happy to showcase their jobs.
      On this Virgin flight I spend over 3 hours with the crew chatting and they kept showing me stuff, but I can’t film the whole time as I actually want to pay attention. It also was a full night flight so it was harder to film.
      I can’t wait to fly Virgin again and make a super movie.

    Had no idea Charlotte has enough traffic to warrant a flight from there to London. Virgin has always been amazing. Wish to fly them some day after Singapore, Etihad, Gulf Air, Qatar and Royal Jordanian. I'll try Cathay after I've tried Virgin. Thanks for such an informative review.

    • @TheLayoverAviation

      Nice seeing your around again!
      Even Raleigh in North Carolina has a flight to London!
      The market that LHR serves is huge, so you’ll find many unexpected city pairings departing from there.
      In my opinion Virgin plays in the same league as Singapore, Etihad, Qatar, Gulf Air, Emirates etc.. It’s just professionalism in a fun and informal way while SQ and QR are very professional in a more serious etiquette way. It depends in what mood you’re in!
      (Royal Jordanian I’ll have to try again.. I had a trip booked from Chicago to Amman last month and cancelled it while waiting at the check in line as I could just see and feel what a mess it was going to be, over 60 loud children in line, nobody wearing masks, etc. So I booked with Air France instead).

I was referring to pointing your finger at things on camera.
