Ryan could have killed Marcus with Exsanguinate in game 2. He could sac all the artifacts except Helm and KCI, announce the cost of the spell (while helm is discounting it by 1) then pay for the cost by activating the mana ability of KCI by sacing the helm then KCI to itself. This would've netted him the one more mana he needed to kill him. This rule also has a really interesting interaction between two other cards that created a new rule in Magic that no one follows. You're not allowed to rearrange your library while searching it because you could have a Millikin in play and a Panglacial Wurm in your library. This would mean you could start searching your library, but a card you want in your graveyard on top, then announce you are paying the cost for Panglacial Wurm, then tap Millikan to put that card into your graveyard. Fun Magic facts!
7 mana in mono blue is just too much imo. Mono blue tends to heavily rely on its commander and doesn’t do much without it so it being expensive is bad times.
Titania pilot here. The loop to net the elementals is one I know of but didn’t see too much need to worry about taking it that way over the loop I pulled since I had to get the haste enabler anyway. Though I appreciate you all getting the knowledge of that loop out there.
Man, I absolutely love mono black. So much crazy stuff that can be done, playing with life totals, the creature count, sacrificing your own lands, it's great.
I'm not sure the mana count on Ryan's turn, but he could have perhaps won by using some niche KCI lines. He should have announced he was casting Exsanguinate, then starting saccing his artifacts to KCI. By doing it with way, he would get the discount from Helm of Awakening, and also have the same amount of mana, resulting in a Exsanguinate for the full 40.
In retrospect playing praetor’s grasp first instead of the grim tutor also wins. I probably wouldn’t have thought through how to beat Opposition Agent but again that line saves mana and life to the extent that it would have won the game.
I loved this video!! It showcases how much cEDH is more of a mindset rather than a strict, predefined set of commanders. Really good play and builds from all involved!!
A line of play Marcus missed with Titania: With her on the field, sacing Command Beacon to get an elemental, in response to the sacced beacons effect, exile Titania with Food Chain and put her to the command zone and then via beacons effect on the stack into the hand and replay her. Its what he almost did, but with a bit more optimized timing you also get infinit tokens.
The kind of Best-Of-3 format is really cool to see more of the decks, and just how variable the games still can be even if they are dominated by the key cards.
When I saw that Dramatic Reversal was the thumbnail, I knew this game was going to be awesome. Definitely did not expect the 1 life win though! I thought it was over with Ad Naus in response to Grim tutor, haha
I just found this channel and love it. If this is your first time doing random commanders, please do more. I have a razaketh edh deck and always struggle to tune it to a competitive level, seeing two mono black ad naus decks with similar gameplans with reservoir, KCI, and top loops helps me tune my own deck. And I love the cut and efficient format these videos are presented in. No wasted time and I see everything that's going on
Ryan and Mike showed pretty well how mono black has to be played to gain the greatest greatness a mortal being can get. Going straight for the kill. Love it!
What the hell, the VALUE they pulled out of KCI! blew my mind, what a great set of games. You guys need to do this series more often, had a blast watching this.
I went to the Random Commander website right after watching and did the same search. I got Kambal, who just so happens to be my first and favorite commander. What a nice coincidence.
That second game was wild! So many swamps from Ad Nauseums, searching your opponent's library under Opposition Agent, and having one life left vs the highest life total I think we've seen on this channel!
Ok I’m at 1:19 and I’m going to predict Yahenni winning based on its CMC. Let’s see how this pans out. Edit1: 2:35 turbo ad naus now this is literally looking good already. 6:00 ok that was basically a K’rrik deck in disguise. I like it. Nice win Mike. Looks like there’s more so there’s hope for yahenni yet. 18:04: damn so close. Let’s go yahenni you can do this!! 23:54: yeahenni wooooo it got there. Great games!
FYI, the Food Chain + Beacon + Titania loop actually also makes infinite 5/3s. You can crack the beacon, trigger titania, then in response exile her and she will go to your hand
Those were some amazing games. I actually think I like that more than regular episodes, and that's saying something. I don't know if it's possible, but would be great to see random commander more often in the channel. More variety and diverse gameplay.
Love everything about this content. It shows that while they are not the most op commanders out there, you can still have a very very strong deck if you what you are doing. Ad nauseam is such a powerhouse. And to think, I've had one for years and always seemed dead to me. Now look at it shine hahaha.
When I saw the commanders I thought the part about randomness was a joke because I thought it would be Folger on Titania because it's one of his favorites but I stand corrected. Either way this episode was awesome and I'd love to see something like it in the future.
I noticed a neat interaction at the end of Game 2 that, while not relevant in light of the Finale of Devastation, bears remembering: Sacrifice Command Beacon, trigger Titania, hold priority and exile Titania with Food Chain. As compared to the loop used in the game, this does the same things and additionally produces infinite 5/3 Elemental tokens. Didn't matter with a haste-enabling mana sink, but could have been relevant if the Life's Legacy hadn't worked out.
If you tap the swamp before sacrificing it to the lake of the dead you gain 5 black mana instead of just gaining 4 black mana, just for information sake.
Maybe it was an intentional redaction because it was part of a winning combo, but the stats at the end for game 3 aren't taking into account the 150 life paid into the Reservoir. Awesome games though. This was super satisfying to watch.
Wait! Did you guys do this after I commented like a year ago about my Random Commander League that I had. In either way, I love it! Random Commander ftw!
Yes! Please more random commanders please!
Yap, this is very entertaining and inspiring.
Yessssss
I think Folger would have a heart attack if he saw how much the fish was fed
LOL you’re not wrong
That titania line was crazy I wana make a deck with her now
As the owner of a Titania deck, I can confirm the deck just does that a lot.
I have an untuned Titania and it's a lot of fun to play. Brain gets tired though.
I hope this becomes a regular series
Ryan: *Plays Ad Naus*
Ryan's Swamps: Allow us to introduce ourselves

This seems like a fun change of pace
Seems*
Ad Nauseum in response to someone else's Ad Nauseum is pretty hilarious
Lol do you remember when flash was legal? Flash responding to flash was literally the play 😂
Man Mono Black seems good. Sad to see Nezahal do basically nothing all three games tho.
Agreed. The commander I was looking forward to seeing the most.
7 mana in mono blue is just too much imo. Mono blue tends to heavily rely on its commander and doesn’t do much without it so it being expensive is bad times.

Ah, people playing magic, living life, not a single thassa's oracle win in sight
Man, I absolutely love mono black. So much crazy stuff that can be done, playing with life totals, the creature count, sacrificing your own lands, it's great.
Now I can't unthink the way Ryan says "swamp" maybe it is just the number of times he said it these games, but I find it funny.
OMG yes! It was like someone was talking and once in a while clicked their tongue or slapped their thighs or something
I loved this episode lmao, so many “what does that do again? Followed by... “OH” “wait thats HUGE”
I'm not sure the mana count on Ryan's turn, but he could have perhaps won by using some niche KCI lines. "After wastes everyone's time, he passes the turn." Most funny line in the entire video. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
How you fit all of that craziness in 26 minutes is baffling
I loved this video!! It showcases how much cEDH is more of a mindset rather than a strict, predefined set of commanders. Really good play and builds from all involved!!

Exactly, I have a similar deck and that is a cool way to win, making infinite tokens
I love that Ryan declared Yehenni as a blocker during the game ending swing in Game 2.
When mike pops off so much that they digitally rig his deck to make him go down to 3 cards 😂
The kind of Best-Of-3 format is really cool to see more of the decks, and just how variable the games still can be even if they are dominated by the key cards.

Love it!
Loved the triple gameplay showing! Great games from all players and great content as always ❤️
What the hell, the VALUE they pulled out of KCI! blew my mind, what a great set of games. You guys need to do this series more often, had a blast watching this.
That K'rrik deck is awesome.....oh it's Vilis?
Also, having watched more, that Titania line is awesome
I audibly gasped at the instant speed ad nauseum into opposition agent.
These were some great games. I love "jank" cedh lol. I personally loved the addition of land destruction lol
Turns out the commander of your mono black deck doesn't really matter because Peer/Ad Naus and access to all the best tutors is insane
I agree. I want to make a deck like it. What commander do you suggest?
@@bryankiep K’rrik
That game 2 was awesome!! Ryan was so close!
Those were great games!! I'm glad Ryan got the runback
Ok I’m at 1:19 and I’m going to predict Yahenni winning based on its CMC. Let’s see how this pans out.
Edit1: 2:35 turbo ad naus now this is literally looking good already.

This was great, I love the idea behind this episode
Once again proving the importance of the old adage, "1 life isn't 0 life." Love it when that stuff happens.
We need more of this format. Best format on the channel
25:06
"Life paid - 34"
*Well, yes ... but actually, no*
Those were some amazing games. I actually think I like that more than regular episodes, and that's saying something. I don't know if it's possible, but would be great to see random commander more often in the channel. More variety and diverse gameplay.
"Diversity".. this is Ad Naus spam
Screw drinking games
Just imagine Shreks "get outta my swamp" face popping up everytime PWP says swamp during ad naus
This great! Would love to see more random commander videos!
Those were so super interesting games. I would love to see more of these.
Love everything about this content. It shows that while they are not the most op commanders out there, you can still have a very very strong deck if you what you are doing. Ad nauseam is such a powerhouse. And to think, I've had one for years and always seemed dead to me. Now look at it shine hahaha.
Really happy to see vilis, I made him as cedh as possible, usually get him out turn 3 to 4 and then win the turn after with artifact storm
im more into Cedh now but i love Titania!! Have that deck for years and is really fun to play.
I would LOVE to see more games like this
Amazing content!! This random commanders are an awesome flavor to the games.
When I saw the commanders I thought the part about randomness was a joke because I thought it would be Folger on Titania because it's one of his favorites but I stand corrected. Either way this episode was awesome and I'd love to see something like it in the future.
Nice to see the chainer grey merchant loop being used.
Loved the concept
We need more episodes like this one
How can i find that background music? I would love to play it during my commander games
Thank you for these amazing videos! The editing must have been a lot of work!
Poor Nezahal, no swimming for deep sea boi tonight.
The most craziest games I saw so far! Keep up the great work!
When the Vilis deck is actually just Black Hole Son K'rrik, haha. That's the right call though
Quest for the Janklord meets PWP...this might be my favorite episode yet.
You guys should do this more often it’s super interesting to watch!

In the second game scroll rack is unaffected by hullbreacher btw. Scroll rack doesn’t “draw” you the cards.
Excellent video. Very entertaining. Thanks.
that second game was absolutely insane
These combos were really cool
If you tap the swamp before sacrificing it to the lake of the dead you gain 5 black mana instead of just gaining 4 black mana, just for information sake.
"I block with Yehenni" - Ryan, game 2
here's a funny idea you guys can try. *ROGRAKH MANIA!* everyone plays rograkh partnered with a different partner
All mono decks. This is beautiful
2:41 nice alliteration
Shows how good AdNaus is with less stack interaction at a table, such sweet games 🤟
So freaking fun!!! Please make this a series!
Damn, Ryan! Impressive!
Rolled for a random commander myself. Hit Mikaeus. Guess I'll be brewing myself some mike and trike!
holy cow those games were both BANANASSSSSSS
1 life comeback, those are rare
These were some of my favorite games
great video as always - one suggestion would be to have a graphic highlighting floating mana/storm count on the turns they matter
These were wild games!
I love this, more random commanders pls!!!
Oh man that Near Death Experience was so OP
Vilis is about as close as we'll ever get to having Griselbrand in commander.
That was nuts as always!
Maybe it was an intentional redaction because it was part of a winning combo, but the stats at the end for game 3 aren't taking into account the 150 life paid into the Reservoir.
Awesome games though. This was super satisfying to watch.
ad nauseum is one heck of a magic card
Ad Nauseam is such a cool card. i mean it basically saves a deckprofile
Wait! Did you guys do this after I commented like a year ago about my Random Commander League that I had. In either way, I love it! Random Commander ftw!
This was an awesome idea!
Holy hell this is very exciting
More random commander gameplay!!!!
I really like watching off meta power decks
Always cool to see unusual commanders! Are you gonna try this new format, Conquest?
You mean the one that came out a year ago and died immediately?
@@ShadowWasntHere8433 i dunno man, just saw it on Budgetbrews YT channel recently, seems kinda fair EDH to me)
Boy, after your budget episode i thought "blue wins", but no, blue is the only one that doesn't win xD
Great games! Along with Ad Naus, Krrik is definitely one of the most powerful black cards and I'm surprised isn't used more as a commander in CEDH.
Great decks! Wonder what would happen if they all had to play with a random bad commander lol
Everyone had commander in their commander zone but mike in his 99
I love this and would love to see more
I would love to see one of these with Ayara, First of Locthwain.
easy infinite with gravecrawler + phyrexian altar
@@3kojimbles895 yup. I have it in mine ^_^
