Feel like Stephen should have waited a little for that toxic deluge. Ryan seemed content to beat down on Adam, and both Adam and Zack were basically locked out of the game. The only reason I can see for Stephen to choose that time for the deluge is if he doesn't know that the Akroma/Tana list is winconless. If he is expecting a Kiki-Jiki combo, I could understand wanting to keep Ryan from getting too ahead.
100% agree. I’m a stax player in cEDH, and this was a classic mistake. Removing the stax helped both of his opponents far more than it helped Stephen. I see it all the time-someone takes out a stax piece and the next player immediately goes off and wins.
That Edric hand was pretty questionable. No ramp for a turn 2 Edric. No interaction. It worked out, but I would have gone for something more aggressive.
Edric isn't supposed to be aggressive, it's no where near as fast as real proactive decks, if you play edric too soon it's will quickly be dealt with. You absolutely have to sandbag edric in cedh till you know you can get mass draws on the same turn.
@@udinamursona1064 Yeah and that hand had no tools to ensure the game went long. If your plan is not to lose in early turns, some stax or counter magic are usually the tools required to get you there. That hand was just *hoping* they made it into the late game without contributing to it in any way.
How many extra turns has Adam taken? What an amazing game. It wasn't infinite, but still very nice. Technically it would have gotten infinte if Adam would have stacked the triggers of Edric drawing Nexus of fate, casting it, putting it back on top, and casting it again and so on. Very nice game. Thank you all from the PwP team for the awesome content.
SPOILER ALERT: This was so sweet to see! I've never even thought about edric with extra turns! I played a narset with extra turns and never really liked it cause it took so long but this way seems a lot cooler to me and uses my favorite color combo! Cant wait to build it and try it out cause it seems very fun
That was a lot of extra turns. How many did Adam still have banked at the end there? P.S.: The "cz" at the end of Rubinovicz is pronounced like a "ch".
Why doesn't Ryan swing harder with more creatures? Is he planning on winning by staxxing and then not killing anyone? Are saprolings unable to attack in the comprehensive rules? Was he just trying to annoy Adam but not kill him? Guess that WORKED OUT REAL WELL
I believe a lot of old or long time players have the old cards. Personally I don’t go for foil cause of the warping. But I delve into the first print of cards.
Hey one of are friends has an edric deck love playing against it. We always felt like it was a little lackluster in our meta but ita nice seeing it get a win!
And that, my friends, is why I despise Edric with every fibre of my being and will always target said player until they join their pesky Time Walks in the graveyard. I respect Edric's power level, but God, is it obnoxious to play against! My pet peeve aside, it was still a good match in the end of the day.
I'd wager they play all cardboard. They advocate proxy cards so people too poor to keep up (yours truely),be able to get a feel for Cedh without having to break your bank time and again. That's my guess
He chose to pay the default mana cost (and not the alternate cost, which he couldn't do because of what you said). He had more than enough mana to pay the default mana cost.

As an Edric player myself, it makes me absolutely giddy to see Edric pop off.
I love seeing the deck that wins take pods down.
Especially when the deck that beats the other decks wins the game
@@themtgaccords6030 lol, yes. (had to keep it spoiler-free)

The funny thing is that Edric is not a agressive deck in Cedh.
In Cedh Tv they speak about the deck and explained how the deck is in This new meta.

Amazing game. For me by far the best recently - but that’s probably because I love (Sir) Edric. You guys doing a great job. Greetings from Germany
What a win. Turns out massive card draw and a billion extra turn spells are good. What was wizards thinking.
i just realised that they use castle crashers music in the backround xD
which song(s)?
OMG. I haven’t played that in YEARS
Hmm deja vu maybe all those extra turns is affecting my day

Great game :) Funny how many extra turn spells there are :)
Was awesome to see my boy Edric putting in the work there, great game!

Jesus christ what a win

The ban list is arbitrary is irrelevant.
You can tell by the shadows on their lands that Ryan and Adam were heated gamers.
Why doesn't Ryan swing harder with more creatures? Is he planning on winning by staxxing and then not killing anyone? Are saprolings unable to attack in the comprehensive rules? Was he just trying to annoy Adam but not kill him? Guess that WORKED OUT REAL WELL
Agreed, I would have swong with those saprolings every turn.
"Edric, I've come to bargain!"
Very cEDH-original way to win the game, sweet!
those old border foils Adam has are something else. Is this the most expensive bling ever or just real great quality proxies?
100% of his deck is real. It's a deck he's had for years and takes a lot of pride in it. That tropical Island, is a Beta.
@@PlayingWithPowerMTG that's really amazing. Absolutely beautiful.

Very exciting game Playing with Power!
Awesome play to close out the game, only in EDH. Talk about being able to live the dream!
notorious throng LOL that was good
Jhoira back at it again from Zack (WOOHOO!), although that Edric win was pretty sweet!
Love to see big damage wins...everyone was doing cool things...keep up the good work...keep on atking
That toxic deluge was a horrible idea.
Haha, as soon as that game ended I absent-mindedly laughed and shouted to myself "what a bastard!"
Adams playmat is from Angelarium right? His art is so sick man.

There was an error with the last video. We had to reupload
@@PlayingWithPowerMTG bet the error was naming the video "do not use" 🤔
How is he able to foretell Capture of Jing Zhou?
He didn't. He foretold Alrund's Epiphany, and then casted Capture of Jing Zhou before that extra ended.
Stephen didn't activate Teferi on his turn after he played him... First use was during the end step of the next player's turn...
