My favourite part about this video is Joseph's commentary on who benefits from symmetrical actions like the Wheel of Fortune. In multiplayer gameplay I think that's one of - if not THE - most important skill you can develop. Awesome game and awesome episode!
I'm surprised Eliot didn't go for the turn 1 Kroxa. With Torpor Orb out, he also skips the sacrifice trigger and can start getting the attack triggers.
I think that was an oversight on his end. Most people who play decks revolved around Kroxa rely on making a deck that abuses his ability. He didn't think about the beats potential.
I really enjoyed the format. The narration style gives insight on decision making that is hard to put into your other formats. Keep it coming it is great!
Awesome game, even more awesome narration with the insight behind the decisions and the concerns during the game. My favorite part was the fact there was no Oracle no consult and the nail biting game as a result :)
I really appreciate the explanation of your steps and thought processes! Thanks for the content, also to all the other guys at CC and the guests on this episode!
I love the regular videos, but this made so much more sense. I don't play cEDH so the thought processes that go behind the decisions are a little foreign to me. Love the commentary!
This is excellent! I love seeing some of my favorite content creator's duke it out. Playing with people and decks you're not used to may change certain lines and makes for incredible gameplay. I REALLY hope we can see more of this in the future...from all the channels! Thanks for the great content.
I really enjoyed this style of video, it was enlightening to hear why you made the plays you did. It would be cool if there was a way to see some of your cards in hand so we could understand more of your thought process as well. I hope you do more videos like this in the future
Really loved seeing all the cedh players coming together. Also really love the 1st person commentary as the game is happening, really enjoyed seeing the key decision points and why you chose the lines you did. Definitely would like to see more of this content!
This is probably one of my favorite videos you have. I love the thought process, as well as using combat damage to your advantage. nothing better than swinging out!
I really enjoyed this! The off-meta deck choices were a nice change and the commentary went in depth on choices made and what benefits whom. Very neat!
Love this format of video!! Keep doing everything you boiz are doing!! 💜 the commentary for your reasoning behind the decisions you're making in game are brilliant!!
23:54 Stax is actually one of the most fun archetypes imo because it's always such a puzzle to still get there through all that stuff and using the stax pieces of the other players to your benefit through clever lines is just great (like you did when you countered that chaos warp because the RIP did benefit you). What a great game and also some great guests you got there :D
Poor poor Eliot xD This was a solid game I loved hearing your thought process and explanations on why you countered certain things and chose to protect certain stax pieces for your own greater agenda
Wow my four favorite channels battling it out! So happy this happened - would love to see it again. Also appreciated the commentary as I really feel like it helps improve my game. Keep it coming!
my guess is that Cam is not aware of the sensei's top trick you can do with clock of omens? (activate top, hold priority, untap top with clock + one other untapped artifact, tap top again, resolve both activations nets 1 card, and with Jhoira's Familiar you can recast top for free) - I imagine that it could be to play around a potential counterspell on top, but I feel that at the time that Cam was able to do this, it may have been correct to just draw the extra cards and risk it
@@Arcdemon44 it's not an obvious interaction to be fair, because in theory it might be the case that you would assume that the Top being put on top is a cost, and not on resolution (obviously that's not what the card says, but still)
The kroxa player should have played kroxa on his first turn. Kroxa wouldn't sack itself due to the torpor orb and he would have had a 6/6 causing people to discard every turn. The way it played out he couldn't really do anything after that point from all the stax pieces.
Cool game and good commentary. But it would also be very fun to hear the other guys from time to time or at least the funniest discussions or comment of the others.
Why wasn't Cam doing the sensei's top/untap effects loop with his clock of omens? He could have drawn an extra card every turn until the ouphe came down.
Normally I hate seeing the blue player win out of nowhere, but because this episode was practically in first person it was way more engaging to see it happen and how it all plays out.
at the end when you started saying you were feeling confident, I was scared that you were gonna follow it up with "...BUT..." So that ending was really intense for me! Pays off to just go for the win despite the risk, though at this point it really was the best time for you to go off. Great game, though I feel bad for Eliot
This is my first time seeing your face. It's nice. If your camera can take filters you can get a circular polarizer to get rid of the glare on your glasses. I wear glasses too.
I wish the deck list were uploaded to tapped out. Makes it so much easier for mobile users to look through the deck and buy it from the source of choice
Great game! But I do have a question.. why did Ryan put Rest in Peace into his graveyard when Joseph was able to counter the Chaos Warp with Dispel? Oh wait.. it came back on 16:11
Im just a little bit confused why Cam didn't use top + clock of omens to draw extra cards every turn, I feel like that could have put him in a very strong position
5:40 hmm kinda surpsied he didn't cast 6/6 with good attack ability. if his only plan was faithless looting for the chance to draw into exactly reanimate i guess. But not knowing his hand maybe he had some parts of inifinte mana idk
I rather enjoyed this episode. If you do another one I’d recommend you reach out to either Ryan or Brando from Commander Cookout Podcast for a game (Brando would probably be easier to get on because Ryan has country bumpkin internet)
As a kroxa player, I was rooting for Eliot. I'm actually surprised to see kroxa in a cedh game. I though he wasn't. Even if he did cast kroxa turn 2 doubt it would stick. He kind of got hosed the whole game. Like basically his whole strategy got turned on him.
Lotta luck went into that win, but that’s how it goes. Probably should ease up on the sylvan library self-suicide and counter-spelling non-imminent stuff a bit, but otherwise well-played/lucky!
I like this format of giving reasoning behind action, but I when you're giving an aside it feels a little rushed to go at the same snappy pace that works for simply describing in-game events. Could you slow your speech 10% during the explanations of why you do things if you do this format again? It's super useful and informative though, thanks very much for the video :)
Not to be a dick but too much commentary on what peoples ideas of actions are I love your channel subscribed and watch every video as soon as it comes out!
at 18:13 if I was at the table the luminarch ascension wouldn't bother me. Id rather kill the edric player after playing a couple of extra turns and controlling the game as much as he did. you've already proven yourself far too dangerous to live haha

Harry Potter playing Magic. Man this channel is gold

Do you guys have that playmat for sale?

feel more like he overlook this, happens to the best of us.
Hahaha, as soon as I watched him play Looting turn 1, I scrolled down to comment section.
As a kroxa player, this hurt me.
I honestly quite like this format. Always interesting to hear a thought process behind the actions
It’s so awesome seeing the cEDH channels playing with one another! Awesome video
Let's just take a moment and think about how much longer this would have taken had the winter orb resolved
Feel bad for elliot, wish rakdos had more interaction outside of removal.
I really enjoyed the format. The narration style gives insight on decision making that is hard to put into your other formats. Keep it coming it is great!

Really enjoy your commentary; It covers all the required bases, thought processes and in a pleasant varied voice 👌

Yeah, this play not happening made me pretty sad as it would have introduced another aspect to the game
I was saying this in my head the entire time, like how did he not see this interaction?
@@Arcdemon44 it's not an obvious interaction to be fair, because in theory it might be the case that you would assume that the Top being put on top is a cost, and not on resolution (obviously that's not what the card says, but still)

It was so great to hear your thoughts on why you made the plays. Thanks for the insight!
WOW this guy has a face!
This was really cool! Hearing your evaluations of what was happening was interesting and fun.
It’s crazy how you only have 35.k subs when the content here is far superior than a lot of commander content on YT!
The kroxa player should have played kroxa on his first turn. Kroxa wouldn't sack itself due to the torpor orb and he would have had a 6/6 causing people to discard every turn. The way it played out he couldn't really do anything after that point from all the stax pieces.
I was thinking this too, the faithless looting seemed way less valuable.
I liked this a lot. As someone new to cedh this made the game make a lot more sense.
This video was really interesting, and the peek behind the curtain so to say was really cool!
My favourite mtg gameplay channel
Turn 2 Kroxa with Torpor orb!! Ah, missed opportunity!!
Cool game and good commentary. But it would also be very fun to hear the other guys from time to time or at least the funniest discussions or comment of the others.
15:24 what happened to Rest In Peace? Didn’t Dispel counter Chaos Warp?
He put it back into play.
@@slymcfly123 yep my bad

Absolutely love this...more fringe cedh decks please 👍👍
Looks like a usual game with friends. Much fun.
Joseph, if you're not on the Edric discord, we would love to have you there.
+1000
Sylvan Library was the best card of the game. Well done Joseph. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Loved this video collab!

"slower, safer, but also riskier side" make up your mind, Joseph!
I would love to see more of this edric list
Huh, Joseph looks very much like his voice. Not usually the case. Love your show! 🌵
I was rooting for Edric because he was one of my favorite decks that I made, simply dubbed Political Machine.

Such a good episode
can i get the kroxa list ? pls, it not more available from the link you post :c
Edric was savage !!!!
4 of my favorite RUclips channels in one video.
You love to see it.
I'm just happy I got to see Eladamri hit the field.
Any reason Eliot didn’t go for a turn 1 Kroxa? The sacrifice trigger wouldn’t fire and he’d be left with a 6/6.
Hold the phone! You mean Joseph isn’t just a disembodied voice controlling a set of floating hands? My entire world has been a lie.
Lol dudes and free counterspells.
Im just a little bit confused why Cam didn't use top + clock of omens to draw extra cards every turn, I feel like that could have put him in a very strong position
Rip Elliot
Omg he kinda looks like Murphy from the 100 😂 other than that, loved the game!
Kozilek Stax is an interesting spin. My version definitely is more aggro
You sound less robotic like how the Commander Quarters sounds now.
Oh no
He really IS as good looking as his voice suggests
Clicked on the video and was like what Daniel Radcliffe plays magic
5:40
hmm kinda surpsied he didn't cast 6/6 with good attack ability.
if his only plan was faithless looting for the chance to draw into exactly reanimate i guess.
But not knowing his hand maybe he had some parts of inifinte mana idk
Even if he could reanimate sire of insanity, baiting out removal on Kroxa first was probably still better?
I rather enjoyed this episode. If you do another one I’d recommend you reach out to either Ryan or Brando from Commander Cookout Podcast for a game (Brando would probably be easier to get on because Ryan has country bumpkin internet)
Starting out talking about Kroxa being dealt with by a Torpor Orb has me feeling uncomfortable haha
As a kroxa player, I was rooting for Eliot. I'm actually surprised to see kroxa in a cedh game. I though he wasn't. Even if he did cast kroxa turn 2 doubt it would stick. He kind of got hosed the whole game. Like basically his whole strategy got turned on him.
ryan is ma boi, im building a few deck that he used at playing with power. Now edric extra turns im interested
Lotta luck went into that win, but that’s how it goes. Probably should ease up on the sylvan library self-suicide and counter-spelling non-imminent stuff a bit, but otherwise well-played/lucky!
I mean that's why he won though right? Recognized his best chance of winning and went for it.
Why didn't you start going after the Kozilek player to get rid of that Temple?
Love the game!
Joseph, My man, you love you say the MTG character's name in an eccentric way. EE drick? Who is that? It is "Ed drick".
Dope
Next time will we get two commentators casting the game?
dude u look like harry potter

Eliot wasted his chance to play and have a kroxa in play in the second turn xD
Edit: first turn cause of the gemstone caverns+torpor orb from ryan
whole differnt game if ryan got past 2 mana
