BELIEVE it or not, there is a right way to close your blinds and you may not be doing it correctly.
Closing your blinds facing downward can actually allow people to see into your home.
To avoid anyone peeping in on you, you'll want to close your blinds facing up!
The right way means no one will be able to peek inside so say goodbye to peeping toms.
If someone tries to look through the blinds, all they'll be able to see is the ceiling.
There's no right or wrong way to turn your blinds. But one way may be more suitable than the other, depending on your needs. The choice really boils down to your lighting and privacy requirements at different times of the day and, of course, personal preference.

One persons wrong opinion proves nothing. Close your blinds at night then go outside and try looking in with both methods.
I was arguing with my uncle that if you close them up it also helps with maintenance of cooler temp within the house/office space, other than the added privacy

True! If you close them down more light/heat comes inside. So that's a con on the darker days.

To achieve the best privacy and lighting vs darkness , in the daytime the slats of the blinds must be upward to maintain the best lighting and privacy BUT at night the slats must be downward to maintain maximum darkness and best privacy according to professional blinds designers
I’m so embarrassed. I’ve been closing them up but I live on the 3rd floor which means the 2nd and 3rd floor across from me have been able to see in this entire time omg they probably think I’m a weirdo 😩😳

What if someone ducks under the first floor window when the blinds are facing up looking through your window that way?
If I do it your way and I barely crack them open you can see inside and not the other way but it all depends on the level of the house I guess level to where you stand with the window .

You have to have super low windows for this to be true. Otherwise you should do the opposite and tilt them so somebody would have to look down. I'm fine if they see my knees and feet.

@@FloridaFamFiveit doesn’t. That’s just common sense. If you’re elevated above the ground, turning the blinds as shown in the clip, people would see up and into your window.
@@SamM88 if you seen in it would only be at your ceiling. I can see why if your at the second story window you would want it a different way. Its really just ones opinion on how they like the blind to be turned. No right or wrong answer. I enjoy hearing all the diffrent opinions on this.
OR MAYBE JUST GET FUCKING CURTAINS TO OVERLAP THE BLINDS. Problem solved. That’ll be $100 for my time
I’m in a 4th floor apartment and can confirm that at night time, people outside at ground level can see right up through the blinds into my window when they are facing up so yeah this doesn’t work if you’re not at eye level with whoever is looking in from outside

Or are you talking about getting your blinds to go up?
If you only live on one floor that's fine but if you Have an stairs, you should turn them the other way.
No matter what they should always close going up. Never down

@@FloridaFamFivenot sure where mine came from. just pull the cord to the bottom of its travel then pull a little harder. It should fully close the blinds and lock into place. I thought that's how all them worked.

Wrong the blinds tension is not correct why there is gaps in between the slats happy to show you how to fix this

@@crimejunkie1 il do a video we make Venetians and supply them to blind shops all over the north west and if the blinds tension is not done properly this happens

Sounds like you just assume this without actually going outside and looking in. As other comments have said, it depends on how high or low your windows are with compared to the ground outside. Anyways, you’re most likely wrong. You shouldn’t state this so matter of fact.
