    Why did you keep saying Yazóv when it's actually Yázov? That's odd bit with English speakers, they keep doing same thing here and there, except with super famous guys like Lénin or Stálin. Can anyone elaborate on that phenomenon?

    • @lolihitler4198
      @lolihitler4198 Год назад

      i think the only reason we dont do it with lenin or stalin is because leneen and staleen would sound retarded

    • @zheleznodoskyy
      @zheleznodoskyy Год назад +11

      because english speakers usually see the word written before hearing it spoken, so they just guess whichever stress feels 'right' (which they usually get wrong)

    • @cynicat74
      @cynicat74 Год назад +2

      Because, they don't speak Russian, and are therefore unfamiliar with Russian pronunciations, obviously.

    • @I_Stole_A_BTR-80
      @I_Stole_A_BTR-80 Год назад

      I think it's just an american think. I'm English, and while I have some knowledge of russian, to me Yázov is the correct pronunciation. They like to put the stress on the last syllables in general (take for example "Birminghám", Alabama, as opposed to "Birmingham", England.)

    • @moritamikamikara3879
      @moritamikamikara3879 Год назад

      Anglos like to randomly choose ways to pronounce things.
      It's one of the things about us that I can't fucking stand.
      Just listen to people on the news about the Ukraine war trying to pronounce Prigozhin or Gerasimov.
      It's torture. I usually tell them to just call him pringles so they can't fuck it up.
