Not sure about zanzibar specifically but in some cultures halfway across the continent, it was becoming fashionable for all warriors to get high on European imported drugs before any battle.

The scene about British delegation in Germany is mostly untrue since the Germans already held control over Zanzibar. It was more like a trade deal where Britain would give Heligoland (a small naval island at the coast of Germany) in exchange for Zanzibar.
Yes, also the deal with Zanzibar itself was more like a protection racket with the british protecting Zanzibar from "other european powers", they didn't just show up and say "we own you now", ontop of that, the fight itself was way more chaotic on land adding to the comedy of this "war"

reminds me of the attack from liechtenstein where 80 soldiers were send out without attacking anything and had an -1 casuality rate cause some random farmer liked the idea of joining a conflict-less army.

Awesome vid! I just wanna add another thing for that masterpiece: the British stopped doing slavery because having a salaryman with the conditions buy more goods was more profitable then having a slave worker
No we ended slavery in England because the Norman conquerors put a tax on it; then more than 500 years later we found out our colonies were doing it and thus began a 100 year plus movement to purge slavery from out colonies and then the rest of the planet.
Many years and two world wars latter, we shut down the Empire, handed world Hegemon status to the USA and low and behold there are slave markets in Africa again.

The Honourable East India company was named Honourable in the Royal Charter, as it had affiliations to the House of Commons in Parliament.
Although, the name wouldn't be official until 1709
